I think the grey teal is a pretty good option in ur opening hand over godwit, sees a lot of cards and u can tuck if its not helpful.

It was certainly a hard choice at the beginning. I got an OK bonus card that ended up getting me 6 points, plus the godwit is worth 4 more points than the Teal, so it's hard to say if seeing the extra card and the potential tucks would have overcome that 10-point gap. It would have been worthwhile to try.

I think you should have kept citizen scientist over grassland data (which was a sure 0). With chifchaff in hand, could have scored 4 extra points there, plus some extra tucks.

Yeah you're right - a small chance is better than no chance. And I actually did end up drawing the chiffchaff after "giving up" on that bonus card draw, so I was punished for it.
