He's not discrediting all american players he's discrediting the ones that make it seem that you have to have speed and be able to do fancy dribble moves in order to be good, the usa olympic team has the best fundamentals that's why they win but it's an added bonus that they're fast and quick

Exactly. NBA player's fundamentals are overlooked because they can achieve near impossible feats on the court. You can't do what they do without excellent footwork, coordination, balance, handling, shooting etc.
