Damn dude, you nailed this. I don't understand why the Periphery guys haven't commented directly on this video, making you an honorary member of the band!

Nice bro, this song is very hard

This song is hard as fuck jesus christ
@Drpepperkiller1018 күн бұрын
What's more insane is how they even came up with these riffs. Hard as shit indeed though
@furbyoats18 жыл бұрын
Only possible criticism I could give is that the 2nd solo was a little off... ...but then again, that is Guthrie Govan and even Mark Holcomb is a little off when he plays it live so really I'd say you nailed it. Sounds awesome!
@samjerbs6 жыл бұрын
yeh Guthrie is an absolute monster, hard to be too critical
@Stretchwreckedem469 Жыл бұрын
I always listen to the start of Guthrie's solo on this song thinking that he was doing some tremolo work to make the notes bend like they did, but from the covers i've watched everyone was playing mainly hairdtail style guitars and playing that solo flawlessly, so idk if he did or if people just found a way to work around it lol

Dude Kevin, really awesome job on Guthries part and nearly flawless everywhere else. Thanks for the inspiration!

Fantastic cover, man. I love how your pinky always sneaks its way back in whenever needed, but stays unused most of the time. Even more impressive considering this is such a difficult song rhythmically

Just Beautiful...., How did you learn the Guthrie Govan Solo? Were there tabs somewhere or...was it easier by ear?
@KevinDanneman7 жыл бұрын
It's not perfect, but I just sorta took what tabs I could find online and pieced everything together by ear. That's really how I approach all of my song learning.
@tamasszecsodi38876 жыл бұрын
Who needs a pinky, when you can play like this. I use mine, but wouldn't be able to do the solo. Good job!
@sebwest119 жыл бұрын
What string size do you use? And do you have to have a higher string height to play in that tuning? Love this cover. Amazing sound
@KevinDanneman8 жыл бұрын
+Sebastian Westby I use .11 .14 .18 .32 .44 .56 You just have to adjust your string height according to your gauge thickness. I like a really low action, but with a thicker gauge you might want to raise them up ever so slightly.

@KevinDanneman8 жыл бұрын
+Airguardian Simply put, my sound comes straight from the Fractal Audio Axe FX II. I can't recommend it enough.
@Airguardian8 жыл бұрын
It's not the first time I hear a setup that I like and comes to be there's an Axe FX II behind... Should start saving up money, LOL... Thank you!
@DiscipleFiveActual8 жыл бұрын
That's a bit pricey for me... But could a Line 6 get me close until I can afford it?

Fantastic chops and tone make for great covers! If I have anything to criticize it would he the camera work. It was very distracting. It went in and out of focus and it just seemed Like he wanted to play around with the dolly. Two cameras eere used. He could have set the main one up for wide shot and the other for solo cam
@jkman108 жыл бұрын
Great cover. Whats with the random zooming in and out though?
@KevinDanneman8 жыл бұрын
+jkman10 Thanks. Would you rather it be stagnant? It's to add depth and be less boring than a stationary camera.
@jkman108 жыл бұрын
Ah I get the idea. It just seemed odd going in and out. Maybe throw in some different angles? I saw I gopro to your left.
