That's actually crazy how Jake can play Jeff Loomis' solo like that. Those are big shoes to fill, especially with a solo like that, and he nailed it.

Jake Stephen He actually improvised a lot in the solo in this video. It's got a lot of different twists and some outside notes. The tapping lick is very different..

+DeOrestes a lot of Djent bands will tell you that textures was a big influence for them. Like it or not they were innovative and they are partly responsible for the bands you listen to today like periphery.

Frank J it’s written by loomis and Jake is petrucci’s nephew. So if you honestly inferred that just from hearing the solo (rather than knowing this information beforehand) that’s a pretty impressive ear for style influence I must say.

Nolly isn't in a lot of the videos because he wasn't always the bassist. Tom Murphy was the bassist until late 2011 if I recall correctly

Obviously it sounds only bad in the sense that some ghetto ass camera or camera phone speakers were recording it. I've always wanted to get amazing sound quality at concerts with recordings, I could care less about the video quality, in a sense. Anyone notice the 20 bajillion guitars in the bacground? Probably all Misha's.

I love this song, especially as an instrumental. Sponce is a great guy, but the vocals just kill the feeling of the song for me. I get chills at certain parts of the instrumental version just because of how powerful the music is.
