Celtics fan here: I love JB so much because he’s always aggressive on both sides of the ball and has filled the Marcus Smart role very well. Tatum playing against the best defender and being smart enough to move the ball and know when to be aggressive isn’t covered enough because they want to hate. His shot hasn’t been falling but he was aggressive getting to the rim last night. Talking about how easy the Celtics have had it without having the most unique offseason acquisition in a while isn’t talked about enough

Tatum literally had 36 last game lol brown has always been more consistent cause he doesnt just settle for jump shots and drives alot to the rim. Tatum takes too many jumpshots when he could dominate with post moves and driving to the lane. It doesnt matter tho a win is a win.

was just about to say omething similar. Jayson Tatum is more of a star, he can hit tough shots better than jaylen brown. Brown just plays more to his strengths and consistently to those abilities. Brown will give you a consistent 23-25 a game. Tatum can give you cloe to 30 a game. Sure his numbers have gone down between regular season and playoffs but to me sounds like people are mad he hasnt had a game where people felt he just couldnt miss. Or he was hitting big time shots. Outside of the OT win none of the celtics games have been thrillers. Out of the 12 playoff games the C's have played only 2 have been decided by less than 10 points, The OT game 1 win (5) and game 4 against cleveland (7)

That interview with Malika was a set up, the year before they asked Him Ja and Donovan who the best player was and JT said it was Giannis. People had a problem with that. Next year he says what everyone wants to hear, and now it’s being used against him. You can’t win with the media games, dude is doing fine. He will be loved and greatly appreciated for helping bring a title to the city, that’s all that matters for the fans we don’t care if he’s ever the MVP or greatest in the world.

I swear the media “HATES”the Celtics. Pacers played a hobbled Milwaukee team with Giannis and Dame out. Played a hobbled Knicks team that didn’t have Randle, Mitchell Robinson, OG in and out due to injuries, Brunson playing on one leg, and yet they don’t even talk about how “EASY” it has been for the pacers in these playoffs. Haliburton gets hurt and all of a sudden, Celtics has had the easiest walk to an NBA finals. Bunch of BS. And Perkins got some nerves talking about the Celtics. Idk if Tatum ignored Perk’s calls or maybe didn’t want to take a picture with him or something but his fixation with downplaying him is getting wierd. Game 1 the Cs were +20 when Tatum was in the game. Every time they had a lead and he went to the bench it vanished. He didn’t score in the 4th despite having 26 pts but when the game went into OT and he scored 10 more points Perk came out and said “he’s not doing enough”. Game 2 the team is rolling and guys are getting involved while Tatum starts out cold. Scores 19 in the 2nd half and that’s still not even for Perk standards. Tatum could come out next game and have 42 pts 12 rebs and 6 assists and JB 28 7 and 5 and Perk will still say “Brown shot 52% and is proving he’s better than Tatum”

Tatum scores 33 points, one night 36 points the other night. He could never catch a break lol. This team is stacked. We don’t need one superstar. We built this team to win multiple championships. Any night one guy can go off at 30+. When Porzingis comes back, he might score 50 points just for the fun of it. Lol.

Every Celtic knows Tatum is their best player, its not really a debate. That said, Jaylen Brown is also fantastic, and thus far, hes been a bit better than Tatum these playoffs. Thats about as deep as the discussion should go. Only real issue for Tatum these playoffs has been his 3PT shot.

Perk is tripping. Tatum gives you a double double a lot plus stats getting 30. Brown has alot of off nights at 10 pts. That is so rare for Tatum. Happens 1-6 games for brown

I guess 36 points with 10 rebounds is considered a poor performance in today's offense first league. Tatum needs to average a triple double with 40+ points a game to earn respect in the league today. That's honestly sad...

Man Perk is clueless - Tatum is leading the Celtics this postseason in points, rebounds and assists and is averaging an eye-popping 26, 10, and 6!!! He is the best player on the team and without a doubt the 2nd best player left in these playoffs (2nd only to Luka)!!

All for the hype of saying something. JB is more consistent (takes easier shots). Sure you can say Tatum's numbers have dropped a bit but they acting like he is averaging half of what he usually averages. But the celtics haven't really had thrilling games this postseason. Game 1 vs the pacers mightve been their only thrilling game. People just mad Tatum hasnt had a game where he just went off and couldnt miss. His shot is a bit off right now which I think is fair to call out, but to say Brown should be the number 1 is wrong. Why change what has worked all season, unless its necessary.

It's finals MVP, not playoff MVP. We're not in the finals yet, you have no idea how either JT or JB will perform when / if they get there, so there's no basis for this comment whatsoever. If JB is better in the finals he should get it, if JT is better in the finals he should get it, end of story.

I feel JB and Jt are actually pretty even. They generally have way more plays designed for JT cuz the coach has made him their #1 guy.....but boston has such an embarrassment of riches that JT doesnt always have to be the guy. Anybody on their 1-5 can be the guy at any given time. Which is gonna make it pretty sad if they cant finish it up this year.
