This might be a good system if there was a new way of gear/level progression. Ubi cares a lot about bringing in new players, so a new gear system would always be scrapped unless there was a much faster and balanced way to unlock new powerful gear. Rather than spending three days on a single character and wasting thousands of steel to get just the right gear perks.

What he’s talking about here is how I used to spec my gear on characters. I had a stam build where Kensei where if you got me out of stam and I blocked once it was enough to give me my stam back and it was damn impossible to get me out of stam late game. A throw farther build with shoguki where if I got a gb and I could just see a ledge you might be dead lol

This is a great idea, but they would need to give every player a bunch of free steel to prevent what happened the first time. It happened when they changed the old gear system. They reworked the entire system to be more balanced, but the old gear didn't translate into the new gear well at all. So they made the game more balanced, but forced everybody to spend all of their hard earned and saved up steel to re-attune every single loadout to the new system.

Been playing since Alpha, the thing with the old gear system is that everyone picked the same thing. Max Revenge benefits and max damage, there wasn’t too much creativity. If a new system is built correctly like in your video then there will be variety but knowing Ubisoft it won’t. And everyone will run the same setups like they do now with the current system

This would be really cool, but since for honor is "a competitive game now", i doubt the devs would implement more uncertainty in outcome (even if it's not tied to pure luck). I also think having this kind of system would make it harder to balance the heroes, something the devs seem to not like, given the current trend with the heroes becoming simpler and simpler with no new mechanics

Honestly, the most fun I have had has been trying to be a rez monkey. My 3 heros I pick for this is: Lawbringer, kyoshin, and v-guard. All with their buffs and disadvantages for trying to rez, but hey, at least it's interesting.

And I thought it was really cool. Until I actually had an idea what most perks really did and then it became for me what it is for everyone else: kinda pointless

It would be cool if unique gear pieces (the ones with the star) will give slightly lower stat boost for their respective rarity but would offer a small perk in return. Depending on the character or the gear peace, it could eaither be a geniune competitive boost - something akin to the current perks. Or it could better be fitted for the character's personality and playstyle for something more fun. For example Valkyrie might lose her normal supirior block to gain a stronger, one directional supirior block similiar to warden. Perhaps Shinobi could a have gear peace that makes it he has a small chanse to spawn a clone in the oppisite direction every time he does a double dodge. This way you could incopirate a lot of fresh and fun mechanics that are not nesserly strong but just add viraty and mix things up.

This change would be a great buf to WL. He would go from a staller to a potentially great all rounder with a spread out build. Maybe 3.5% into damage, 7% into offense, then 10.5% into defense, changing around the offense and mobility stats depending on your team comp, with feats like tough as nails, rush, deadly,and fury to smooth out his stats. I would be happy with this change

I never got using bastion with last stand since they don't stack, most characters can just get vengeful barrier with aegis as well as either last stand or bastion. That way you get even more extra shield. That or just bulk up since it is a pretty good passive ngl.

I enjoyed the old armor system. It was incredibly fun to go revenge and defense on warlord with tough as nails and you literally could not die. It was very broken dont get me wrong it definitely shouldn't be in the game. But my thoughts on this whole thing is that perks needs changes but just replace the feats. Feats are the same, either broken or useless. It should be tailored to the class and not random. This could help you make more unique builds, but also not get covid powers or fuck you and your revenge. And then on top of that change the combat with the special attacks. Like assassin's being the only one with undodgable. Every new hero feels the same because they all get every special attack, and that makes each new hero boring to to fight with and against.

7 Years Still no Team Ranked 4vs4 5 Years No anti cheat ping kick system. I can play with 3k ping and 120 fps. In Ranked with 3 $ script that was made before 2020 and reach GM in 2 hrs. Forhonor has always worried about balancing charicters. But i feel like they're losing what makes the game fun. But heres a better solution, get rid of every outlander, get rid of orochis backstep heavy, make higlander slower, especially his grab but make him do bigger damage to make it more satisfying and make it feintable (never played higlander is it already? Ive never seen anyone feint it) and make wardens top crushing counter do more damage, and make warmongers dodge have less i-frames it (g)ucks up wardens charge heavy punish Sorry if these are bad takes

ubisoft can rarely just make anything thats sits itself in the game naturally since release and year 1 heros, any new thing they add usually is overtuned or undertuned, some old gear builds were fustrating for players, instead of evening out the numbers relative to viability, they just reworked it to an undertuned mess where half the abilities the community considers useless and if you arnt a defensive hero, you get scammed

I made a comment like this on reddit (yeah ik) about ideas for reworking the gear perks system, things I suggested were Like 'reduce damage received from feats by 75% / increase healing on you and your allies by 50% / gain revenge 2x faster / your heavy finishers now apply 25% of the damage as bleed / your light attacks are now enhanced / your bashes now have hyperarmour / revenge lasts twice as long / while standing in zones you take 20% less damage / increase your health by 100% but you can't sprint etc etc etc. And guess what, I was downvoted to hell, no one replied to say WHY it was a bad idea, just absolutely downvote bombed.
