great...so itzhak's playing is only between vituouso and "okay"...

It takes intelligence to recognize talent. One has to be familiar with the craft and able to judge with a quantifiable system of measurement and not vague feels based upon limited background. Thankfully, the amount of awards won and requested performances proves he is far better than just "okay". Itzak's playing in Schindler's List is what broke him into the class of player who will be remembered for as long as our civilization still stands as that movie is a classic and his playing is what propels people through the depths of human emotions far beyond what a couple of actors on screen could do.

Not only no coaches. No scientific knownledge about string instruments playing. Its like a football player who doesnt go to the gym…no massages, no blood tests…nothing scientific. That is why until this day, string players have NO idea about how their instruments really work and how you have TO TRAIN to play them. They all talk rubish on masterclasses. Even Zukerman, even Vengerov, even Kavakos.

Well yes but no. They can anyway give great advices on interpretation and musicality. Masterclasses are not courses

@@JeanDeLaCroix_ 90% of the people NEED urgently technical advise much earlier than „artistic suggestions“….90% have serious intonation and bow technic problems and weaknesses. And nobody takes care about concret, no esoteric solutions. You wont find ONE tutorial for string players talking about fitness, MUSCLE WORKOUTS, as if that wouldnt be as important for instrumentalist as for sportlers. What YOUR MUSCLES cant perform, no musicality will help. No way.

@@leonardoiglesias2394 I agree, but I don't see what this has to do with masterclasses, which are usually given to very high-level students or violinists who are already professionals. What you say is relevant to learning the violin from beginner level.

@@JeanDeLaCroix_ ok. That is a prejudice. A Masterclass is only a class…the „master“ thing is only because is meant to be done by Masters…Not High class instrumentalists go to take „masterclasses“….only people who want to write on their curriculum that they had masterclasses with X and X and X and X etc I ve heard terrible violinists who had 20 masterclasses with famous people. Anyway, the problem I mention is a general thing. I spoke once to a PROFESSOR of a famous Hochschule in Germany about the problem of intonation and she said: well, intonation is subjective anyway… That I would say, is almost criminal. You cant say to a student: play as ypu like, intonation is subjective. And that is only ONE example.

@@JeanDeLaCroix_ it doesnt change after the beginners level. String players are technically on their own. Its like if football players wouldnt have a trainer. A violinist NEVER has a trainer. And that is crazy and stupid.
