I have Office home and student 2010 three user license that is only installed on one machine. My 79 year old father in-law's hard drive crashed. Since I have two more spare licenses, I installed office 2010 on his new hard drive. I could no longer activate by internet or phone. I tried the steps in the video and opened word. I still received the activation window. However, when I clicked the cancel button, the software no longer displays unlicensed in the header and he is able to use word. He is very happy now and is ok with the inconvenience of having to click the cancel button each time he opens word.

Bro, it runs perfectly !! I have 64bit OS but still I had to go to program files(x86) to locate this file and run this file. So irrespective if you have 32bit or 64 bit OS, you have to go to x86 folder only. But thanks your solution was very helpful
