Hi Barry. A good review and comparison there. Just a little info incase you didn’t know the PD keg is brewed in The Netherlands (Grolsch Brewery) and tankered to the UK for kegging at Magor. From what I understand Asahi dont allow Peroni to be brewed in the UK (yet) and the only other place it’s brewed is The Netherlands. It also says on the keg “Brewed in the EU and Kegged in the UK” so it could come from either Italy or Netherlands but from what I’ve been told it’s currently only coming from the Netherlands. The weed/skunk smell is down to using glass bottles that don’t protect against UV light. The smell comes from light strike and the hop compounds reacting with the UV light. This is why you always tend to get it in bottled beers and not cans and definitely not PD kegs as the beer is not exposed to light once it’s in the keg. At the end of the day they are both lager and other than the light strike in the bottle which once it’s there it doesn’t really disappear and carries through in the flavour, they shouldn’t be too much difference, although grain used for Brewing may be slightly different just by the difference in brewing location. This is about why I would expect for a lager anyway and the comparison conclusion is about spot on. Take cake and have a good week. Joff 👍🍺

Im currently drinking this on the PD. I was quite surprised - very drinkable with a nice malty / refreshing taste like you say. Its a bit pricey but i will order again for sure. Btw let the cats in or else 😂😅

Is this not a bit of an unfair comparison as the green glass bottle makes it skunky ? 🤔
@allthebeernoidea180Ай бұрын
@@jasonpratt927 I don't think so coz that's what this comparison is.

how come the keg is not brewed in Italy so it is a British lager and a Italian lager it says on the keg it is from Europe 42 pound all most for a British brewed lager shocking
@allthebeernoidea180Ай бұрын
@@leonlovelock-kn4fw I was kinda guessing it was brewed in the uk but apparently brewed in the Netherlands and I guess that influences the price . My error on this one Cheers
