Perpetual for the win Sirs. I’m running 2x2 on its side for cloning and seedlings, 2x4 for veg and finishing in a 3x5. All in coco, organic with ReCharge in 3 gal fabric pots all Vivosun equipment. DGC for life 👍💨✌️

OG Smoker since 84, newbie grower in my 3rd cycle. First run Autos, 2nd run photos. Now another run of autos. I did a lot of research first, including listening to Scotty & other knowledgeable pros.. new to this channel but love the exchange of ideas here. I’m growing in a 5x5, 3 mars hydro lights, first grew in 5gal buckets bottom watered, now trying all coco in fabric 10 gal pots (he he pots).. I accidentally fell into a perpetual harvest. I grow 3 plants to flower & harvest then dry/cure in the same tent. Finish cure in 32 oz brown mason jars vacuum sealed. Get about 5-6 jars per plant and have plenty for myself & to hand out for fam/friends. Bout time I smoke 5 jars I’m jarring the new harvest. Never thought we’d get here.. ahhh legalization..

Hey dudes! New grower, been listening to you guys and learning all i can. Much appreciation to you all and the show! I started a super scaled down, perpetual grow recently. I have a 2.5'x2.5' MH tent with 4 - 5 gallon fabric pots set up for flower. I put one in each quadrant every 2 weeks, cycling one new lady in as one comes out. I have a veg area (closet) about 2'x4' that houses all my stages of life from solo cup up to a 2 gallon pot size. And my clones all start off in my aerogarden. 2 harvests in and it's going pretty well so far

Back in the day when seeds were not readily available in the US, I technically kept three grow areas for my sea-of-green. The mother and clones shared one kinda open space that ran 18/6 light cycle. The area for the mother that was kept in veg at low lighting with fluorescents so it didn't outgrow the space. The area for the clones varied from low fluros at first to high intensity mini HPS at graduation to the flower zone. The other grow space was the flowering only in a light tight closet that kept high intensity MH 12/12 light cycle. These days with the abundance of seeds/varieties available and modern lighting, I would probably be growing autos in my closet from seed to flower with LEDs. However, now that it is legal to grow, I choose to grow outdoors with mother nature as a light source.

I have been running autos and I have been using my flowering plant to shield my seedlings and I have very good success with this method.
@SlamFM36Ай бұрын
Scotty, you need to quit being scared and start those damn seeds, man. You've been growing for years so you already know what you're doing. If you got the space then there's no reason not to and they're light feeders so it's not like you'll have to spend more in nutrients. Depending on medium, I'll go straight to bloom nutes. I average around 2oz/plant, but I'm yielding more each time. I'm still learning though and teaching myself as I go. So you'd have no problem.

Nice 2ozs is good how y’all are veg plants before flipping I just flipped at 2 feet hoping I get some type of yield

I have a perpetual grow using 4 different strains that all flower at different times. There is a little math involved for timing and such but it is the best way to go. I have a mother/clone room and space to veg but I have chosen not to veg. I run 2-4x4 trays (bunkbed style) and use 1/2 a tray per run. I get 18 total runs yearly using my different cultivars in a specifically timed cycle by running 21 plants per 2x4 space. They fill perfectly and give great yields. I'm in coco and organic amendments fed start to finish through an automated drip system with drain to waste. Perpetual is definitely the way to go IMO.

I grow auto's in a 4 plant rdwc and pull 1 every 3 weeks. With good genetics I can run an 18/6 light cycle and the same nutes continuously. Other than reservoir changes every 2 weeks, I spend 99% of my time watching, and enjoying, them grow.

In my experience you dont need a separate tent for seedlings, just use humidity domes

I am planting 3 beans every 3 to 3 and a half weeks for a total of 9 in my 4x4 tent. should be able to pull a harvest every month will keep you guys updated I am using grow dots and recharge in coco coir/ perlite mix. thanks for all your great info scotty and dude

I’ve had 4 full size flowering autos in a 4x4 arranged on the sides while 4 are starting out in the corners. 4 at a time every 5 weeks. Getting that ninth plant just screws up the space and throws off my system. But that’s my way. You grow your way.

I have found poping one auto in my veg the timing works out that it’s done a month before the photos and it boost the head stash getting you to the end

I can do four plants. I popped four seeds after three crashed and all four made it. I have one tent for growing and one short tent for drying so I decided to dry in the big tent as I dry in paper bags and double them no light should get through and the bags will hang above the lights so I can get some started in the short tent. Only two at a time. I am going back to autos to make it all easier if mixed ages have to be put together. And my first four grows were autos. I have had these going since forever, forgot to go to 12 hours and constantly trimming the plants. I use led light strips on the sides and back I forgot about needing to turn off for flowering so a month goes by to me sitting in front of the tent thinking WTH and notice the strip lights.... they have been in flower seven weeks now and two are close with what seems over a month more for two, fast buds mystery seeds and one haze berry. The haze berry and one mystery barely have any tricombes on it. Hardy any aging to the pistles. So when the two get chopped, I will start two seeds only this time. Back to autos for me. Fast buds is the only thing on my Christmas list but some items to make forever wick olive oil candles, you tube.

I grow autos in a perpetual grow, I'm running a 4x8 and a 2x3 having 10 plants going at all times
@vedacarmony5754Ай бұрын
I sometimes alternate autos in one tent, which take about 12 weeks total. 2-3 weeks germination to seedling in its own space. So, 12 - 2 = 10, right? 10 ÷ 2 = 5. That means harvesting 4 plants (in a 4x4) or 6 plants (in a 5x5) every 5 weeks. Seeds can be started as needed, about every 5 weeks. Same tent, same light, 18/6, same conditions (split the difference), no worries.

It’s probably a good idea to focus on quality instead of quantity when you’re new! This is a how to grow the dank channel after all. Two week perpetual Scott? That’s literally a prison sentence lol ✌🏾

So I run 2 tents 4x7. My veg will consist of 12 plants in 1 gallon pots of soil. My first run I will veg for 2 months, depending genetics I will move 6 over into flower once desired height is reached. From those 6 I will take as many clones as I can from the bottom during preflower. After one month I add the other 6 into flower and repeat same process of cutting for clones . Now we have 1 month old clones in veg which will be able to get another month of veg and create the process of harvesting every month. I run more plants just in case you have errors in flower. Relying on 2 plants is crazy.

So I’m a new grower and don’t have room for a mother plant. I clone my plants before I flip to flower and just run clones of my originals. I throw in a new strain from time to time. Really haven’t noticed drift from doing it this way but maybe that’s cause I don’t have a side by side comp of them.

One negitive is having different nutrients and watering schedules for each grow space.

Been doing the 2 room thing for decades.. it’s the only way to grow! A large closet for veg, and a bedroom for bud. Cut 2-3 clones off every plant you move over, and soon you will be swimming in ganja.

Man, I wish. I wish I could trust my power company to get power back to my area when it goes out. You never know when wind, rain, or snow is going to take the power out for a week or longer, plus we have curfew time for generators.

I tried some autos for the 1st time so you dont have to, I got 8 different strains from ethos ranging from 60-100 days, and every one of them only had 1 week of veg now they’re already starting to flower. Literally day 20 after sprouting and already showing pistils everywhere. Pretty much seedlings still that are going into flower… I guess I’ll see how much they stretch in pre flower but it’s looking like it’s gonna be a really small harvest.
@SammyDingusJrАй бұрын
What are your environmental conditions, I usually get a solid 2 to 3 weeks of pure veg out of my autos before pistils start showing
@SlamFM36Ай бұрын
About normal, I don't even account for a seedling stage except for maybe the first day or two from sprouting. Autoflowers are mature and ready to flower as early as 21 days, 28 days is about average but you can see pistils before then. I've harvested 11 in the past year and what I've observed is that they really take off in size after about 3 weeks. The transition to flower can seem like it's a little slow but it ramps right back up again. I've not ran one over 80 days yet but I look for ones that can finish in 70-75 days before I buy.
@jaytothesun99Ай бұрын
@ 64-69%humidity 74-78 degrees during the day then 70 at night. .07-.09 VPD while seedlings, and now in veg .08-1.1kpa. This is only my 2nd grow indoors so I’m sure I did something, until I perfect my craft a little more I think I should stick with photos.
@SammyDingusJrАй бұрын
@jaytothesun99 only thing I can say is get that humidity down a bit, I've lost 2 fat top colas to budrot this year. 50 to 55% starting out then lower to like 45% through flower. You'll bring out a lot more smell as well. Autos seem to like lower humidity in general and lower temps in my experience(2 and a half years straight running only autos). Photos I might run seedlings and veg 80 to 82°F humidity like 55 to 60% starting out. Best purchase for my grow this year was a dehumidifier
