Hey. Good job on the video. I liked your comparisons. They weren't too niche. Also, good job Perplexity👏 I think if we are doing true apples to apples then it should be with Perplexity free and Google SGE (coz it is also technically free). But, yeah kudos to Perplexity. They are a small team, and are nimble compared to Google. On the launch of Gemini, the researchers in video were almost like being held at gunpoint 😂 But, it is a fact that google has the talent pool and enough resources to pull through. They just need good leadership. What are your predictions for the upcoming months? What will improve faster? Google or Perplexity or some other search? Do you think Perplexity using various different APIs even after making their own model is going to bite them? Thanks for reading 👍

I felt that too with Google. Gemini was your huge moment yet it was done as a videos and blogs? No live demo? Which then it felt like it was rushed out to ensure people remembered it. Who knows what's coming in the next several months but I do feel Gemini Ultra will show up, kinda comparable to GPT4 with perhaps it's own GPT store...the old guard marketers and Google promoters will hype it but OpenAI will still be the gold standard. GPT5 will come out and that will consume all the media. I'm really bullish on Perplexity but more so I think Google's business model of search doesn't jive with Conversational search so something has to give. Those days are numbered and companies like Perplexity can progress as they can focus on one thing while Google has to defend so many different AI moats from search, to vision to voice to image to video, duet, etc...

@@KarlYeh one thing I have to add with regards to Google is that I feel like this Google is very much the early 2000s Microsoft (esp. under Steve Balmer). While Google can compete by making small teams equal in size to Perplexity but focus on different products theoretically, it just feels like they can't get their stuff together. They are feeling very threatened right now, and the tension can be cut with a knife 😂 I think they just got too comfy being at the top (again like Microsoft of the yesteryears). I think the history does repeat itself. Google is the new Microsoft, OpenAI/Perplexity are the new Google. All said and done, I don't think Sundar is a good leader. Maybe he was fine as a technical guy but not as a CEO IMHO. It feels like he doesn't have any new/good ideas of his own and he squandered the potential of both DeepMind and the in house AI team. I am saying all this because as a tech enthusiast, it is all very interesting to watch being played out (and not to support any one company esp. Google). Thanks for reading 👍
