If ever a set of miniatures harkens back to my childhood, it would be this set.
Makes me think of the old plastic Britain's knights we'd often have battles with at both our house or at our Grandparents' place- usually against other plastic Britain's figures, be they gorillas, farm animals, spacemen, soldiers, or whatever else was on hand. I don't know if they were mine or my Uncle's, but we certainly had a lot of fun playing with them.
Which brings me to this set. They're very knightly knights and can be painted up as pretty much whatever you want them to be. Which I most certainly plan on doing.
There's a lot of variety to be had, especially if you have access to other knight kits. The biggest weakness here is the lack of shields and more exotic weapons. Where are the maces and morning stars? I guess I'll have to supply my own, regardless of whether it's historically accurate or not.
Another nice fact is you get a lot of models in this box. Contrast that with some of the other kits we've looked at recently, that give you a third of the models for the same price.
I still hope to get these all painted for some games of Lion Rampant in the future!
You can find them on the Perry's site--

About the lack of shields- This kind of full plate knight generally didn't carry shields, because the armour was good enough to make them essentially redundant. Better to trust in your armour and carry around a poleax than waste an arm with extra protection.

This box is from the war of the roses, the command figure is a representation of king Richard the third found buried in a car park the Shakespearean reference is, ‘Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious summer by this son of York”.

Well that's interesting, I didn't get the command sprue in my box. And friend and I have been using Perry's Agincourt minis to play Lion Rampant. I highly recommend it for a historical game.

1450-1550 few maces or shields were used on foot by English knights, those were primarily cavalry weapons by then ... and that lance for the HQ is a standard-holder these are mainly desngned around the War of the Roses period ending in 1485 with cannons and early muskets being used at the Battle of Bosworth Field and remember the Perry twins designed many of the original (first ten years+) of Games Workshop miniatures - I used their solo Foundry miniatures(2000) with my Bretonnian army for years with no problems

At Bosworth they were early handguns - muskets were well over a century later. The arquebus was in the interim.

By the time plate armor was that good, shields were pretty pointless. But for fantasy sake, plenty of shields out there for sure.

I'm finding they're a good palette cleanser when you spend a lot of time painting crazy stuff. It's a nice change of pace to paint "normal" or simple color schemes and not worry too much about green skins, nurgley daemon flesh, lava seeping through cracks...

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature i can't relate. Yet. But I see where your coming considering they look fantastic with like four colors and some wash. There also a good way to practice metal where and tear as well as painting flesh

I gotta say these are my favorite historical type of minis that I've seen so far. Your historical kits overall have slowly but surely pushed my interest in them. Did this kit come with enough helmeted heads for every mini?
@elfbait3774

I have that kit and all the models are fully armored, including full helms. I believe there are some open-faced helms.

Totally. I'm going to have to get off my but and mess with some of Warlord's Zweihanders and WGA's Conquistadores and see what sort of concoctions we can come up with between those three kits!

Love these miniatures. Recently bought 3 more boxes from Perry. Unfortunately, Renedra changed the plastic so it is, in fact, softer with less slightly softer detail, darker and just not the same. The Perry's lack of concern - due to Renedra's excuses- was disappointing.

@Obscurities in Miniature Hopefully they'll take a second look and have Renedra address it. Love the Perry's sculpts. Only company I like as much, is Essex Miniatures (the original 28mm, up from 25mm and still, after 40+ years, the BEST horses in the industry with 15-16th C knights on par with Perry) and, for Late 15th/early 16th through 17th Centuries - Essex Miniatures and Redoubt Enterprises.

I was hoping it'd fit nicely height wise to frostgrave miniatures as I've been looking for more uniformed warriors and knights, but it seems a bit too tall and skinny.
