Damn, mate. If one shows up, you’re going to go to war against a camel with just your knife? Proof that having something at hand is more comforting than useful 😂. I’d do the same. I applaud you for your brass balls! Great video! Loved it!

I just found your channel while researching the DR650, and this is the third video I've watched (already subscribed). I'm 33 minutes in, and I have to admit that I wouldn't be having fun at this point. I love wide open spaces and solitude, but having a hundred gates to open and close would really start to wear on me. Especially if I wasn't sure where I was going and that my next fuel and water sources were a guarantee. It was all starting to look the same (to me), and my personality really enjoys changes in terrain and sights with some regularity. My hats off to your stamina and grit. I look forward to watching your other videos.

Exactly mate , I totally understand when you ride were you want to go it can be the riding you want to do , but we cannot please everyone all the time it’s a fact of life , also when you get older and carry a lot of injuries you NEED to ride within your boundaries, OR face weeks of phyiso recovery. It’s better to back it off as you age and keep riding then keep holding it on and have to stop 🛑 altogether. Getting away and clearing the mind is a GOOD 👍 thing , hope you are well .

great video looks like a good ride, love to solo camp and adventure myself. For those gates, take a couple hours and learn to ride the bike standing on one foot peg help make them a bit less of a pain in having to fully get on the bike.

Thanks Jdub. Yeah I use this technique on short rides but doing it many times in a day, you use far more muscles and it gives more overall fatigue. Less movement less fatigue. Sometimes you just have to slow all your movement's down to preserve energy. I'm 48 ad have been riding for 43 years.

Hey Sean, I use the Dewalt Soft Foam Earplugs. They are Orange. I buy a big packet and change them all the time. Almost every time I take my Helmet off. After a few days my ears definitely feel it but the main thing is they are not going deaf or ringing.

Great job on the video! Pretty much all of my trips are solo camping and it's definitely my preference. But I would like to suggest that you attach your spot tracker to your backpack strap or your jacket. Especially if you're solo. I recall reading about a guy who crashed his bike and busted himself up pretty badly. It took him something like 40 minutes to drag himself and all his broken bones back to his bike, was not that far away from him, so he could activate his beacon.
@ADVRiderAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate 👊 I usually do have it attached to my camera bag but I broke the strap on the bag before I left. I mucked around with zip ties but it didn't work how I wanted it to so just took the chance. Great advice for anyone reading 👍
