Casmir was my mothers favorite scent for many many years. Almost my entire childhood. I think she still has a bottle of it. It reminds me of me as a little girl, wearing my mothers way too big high heels and hearing her laugh. Bittersweet nostalgic memories. And now i'm a little sad that i'm not that little girl anymore.

I feel old...where did 30 years go???. I wore this non stop when it first came out, now it is a "classic". I felt very grown up and luxurious because I purchased it at a high end department store. Granted I was young! Still like it. I think I need to have a back up. When I want a solid vanilla I pull this out. Still looking for the perfect vanilla since L'Artisan discontinued their original vanilla. Casmir is so soft and pretty and it was a safe bet for office ware.

There's nothing wrong with feeling old ;-) It would seem that the currently-available version is different from the original (surprise surprise) so if you do buy a bottle, please let me know what you think of it. Thanks for watching.

Love Casmir and am so tickled you are talking about it. It was one of the first oriental vanilla gourmands (I get apricot + Madeline) I fell in love with. Can find for a steal-around $20-in the states. I love the bottle design.

I still love Casmir. It reminds me of an apricot dessert with whipped cream at fine dining restaurant. The bottle just looks like a flying saucer to me.

This was my signature scent in the late 90's and I adored it. I layered it with Victoria Secrets "Vanillla Lace" lotion and my husband fell in love with me wearing this scent. Now I am in my mid 50's and so wanted to have another bottle of it. I found it at Chopard and was able to purchase for good price. Decided not to get off Amazon as I question the quality and authenticity of it. I got it the other day and it was just as I remembered it. Unfortunately I can't get Vanilla Lace anymore. I surprised my husband the other day, wearing it and he still loves it. Thanks for the review. Its an oldie but a goodie.

I wore this about 20-25 years ago and loved it. Last year I got a sample of it and it was not as amazing and spicy like I remembered it. It was more fruity. Then I got my hands on a vintage mini bottle. So much better than the modern version! It was definitely what I remembered. I wouldn’t wear it much these days, but still enjoy what I enjoyed about it back then. Try a vintage one if you can!

Thanks very much. It would seem that my bottle is actually quite old. Perhaps I should get it dated by a Chopard expert 😊

I only have the Lancaster formulation of Casmir, and it's wonderful and warm- sweet and creamy, but in a dusty way- like how the Guerlain vanilla is dusty. For folks who haven't tried Casmir, I recommend getting your nose on a lancaster version instead 🧡

Casmir is a wonderful perfume(and the bottle is so beautiful, Arab mosk, 1001 nights) I discovred it thanks to m. Micaleff Ylang in gold which I tried and lasted 3 hours only, so never bought it. Everyone criticizes casmir, but if it cost 300euro and had a bottle from the house of Xerjoff, it would be hyped all over youtube, people would put their names on a waiting list to have it🤣

Thanks very much for this. I think Casmir has a great many fans.

I love the fruity florals of the 90’s. Like many of Sophia Grojsman creations, They had a big long list of notes, they were warm and comforting, didn’t smell just like a shampoo like today’s ‘fruity florals’ I’m a sucker for vintage especially ones marketed for women. I do enjoy getting fresh bottles even if changed. I’ve gotten a couple spoiled bottles from 90’s

Stumbled upon an unopened box of this one today at an estate sale in Memphis, TN. I remembered this review, snapped it up for a song, and am very pleased! It seems a lovely tropical fruity creamy scent for a Southern summer, and I absolutely understand the comparison to Samsara (of which I’m almost out!). Thank you for inspiring a new discovery!

I loved Casmir and wore it for years. I still like it and recently started wearing it again. I think its wonderful. You can find it many places in US. I would hate to think I would not always have access to it. The way you describe it is NOT like mine. Vanilla yes! I can't even imagine how the design of the bottle could be criticized as cultural appropriation. It has a moorish architectural vibe to me...how is that wrong?

Before Covid, Casmir was available in every airport shop at the discounted section, usually just 30 ml flacons. It's a lovely and classy vanilla, from those times when life was FUN! I preferred the lovely Mira-Bai, less sweetness and more peach, but that one is not availabe anymore.

Dobry wieczór! You’re so right about the passage of time and what we associate certain scents with now. That happened with Bath & Body Works Lavender Vanilla (originally Tranquil Sleep, late 90s), and Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar (2000). Those accords are everywhere now, including laundry detergents and air freshener sprays. I need to get my hands on some Casmir because I simply can’t remember what it smelled like. Thanks for the detailed review, I’m very curious now.

I love it in cold weather... There's nothing else out there like it. It's an amber, but not necessarily an "oriental". It's not spicy.. This is a peachy soft amber.. How can a PEACH work as a cold weather scent?? (one might think)... Well, I dunno either, but somehow it does.

I wanted to love Casmir but my nose just can't process it. It suffocates me with its pushy, sweet, roundness. I feel like I'm choking on an amber resin stuffed, candied musty apricot accord whilst attempting to say the word "aplomb".

Oh dear. It is quite ‘dense’, for sure.
