I adore everything about this “fragrance mist”…I wear Chanel makeup and the scent is almost identical to many of their makeup products. I have the foundation and a couple of the lip/cheek balms in this line as well and they are beautiful on the skin. Very pretty and simple but in a satisfying way. Red bottles get me every time❣️😉

I enjoy body sprays. I’ve gone through many bottles of Eau Dynamisante in the past 20 years, and a couple of their Eau des Jardins Treatment Fragrance I enjoy them both. I can see myself using this on a day I’d like to feel more glamorous. If use it before an unscented body lotion, and then I’d apply Beige or Venise. Sometime like to start my day with something very light, that won’t interfere with a later perfume choice. None of my younger friends wear perfume. It’s considered something toxic or something for a time before people could bathe regularly. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I do enjoy Chanel no.5 body products that I like to layer with Chanel perfumes, but I do lament this trend to perfume being minimized to glorified shampoo and detergent scents. At least there are enough of us to keep the more exciting products going.

Eau Dynamisante is unique, has an easily identifiable smell, is very energising, has some sillage and lingers on the skin; Dior's Eau Svelte, was heavenly, Lancôme also had an eau in a green bottle in the early 2000s that was amazing. Neither lasted more than 5 minutes on my skin but they were delicious, and made me feel elated whenever I sprayed they them on myself, (both now discontinued and very missed). This number 1 (despite the unfortunate name it doesn't have a pissy smell 😝), has just a generic and faint cosmetic smell. I don't know the target market. I guess Chanel groupies who don't like nor wear fragrance but want to own a cool red Chanel bottle to display. Another marketing success and money spinner for Chanel I'm sure!

@@Persolaise If you do this, please review Deneuve. It was FABULOUS. I've never found anything like it since. On a slightly different note, could you do a piece about The Osmothèque in Versailles? It would be amazing to see a tour and/or speak to someone who manages it. (I've long wanted to go there, although I gather an in-person tour is something like $400.)

This smells like skin care. Wearing this is like putting on an expensive cream after a shower, without the benefits of a an actual moisturiser. This is not another Eau Dynamisante type scent for my collection. Willie passing my sample along. Your thoughts on the segment of persons who do not want to buy fragrance are interesting. Perhaps that has a lot to do with the fact that many of the mass market scents insult their intelligence with how they market and target the scents (see Miss Dior‘s cavorting in fields and flowers - does Dior really think that’s aspirational for young women?).
@Persolaise2 жыл бұрын
That’s a fair point - maybe the big brands still haven’t found the right way to connect with younger consumers.

Strong recommendation: I would love to see you review perfumes from italian brand Costume National, especially those composed by Dominique Ropion (Soul, Homme Parfum, Supergloss). They stress that they use extracts from LMR, and the perfumes do indeed smell of high quality. Are they even available in the UK? Best regards

Curious about face of the campaign comment. Does that actually affect people? I mean - usually they are going with whoever is trending at that time and nothing to do with the fragrance itself- or may be I’m wrong. Would love to hear more thoughts from you and your audience on the subject anyway, if ever discussed. :)

Any tips on how a mere mortal can try this Celine? I’ve sampled the rest at Celine stores when I’ve been in a city but I don’t live nearby. They’re also a bit stingy with samples even when you do go in person even though I bought a full bottle once.

I totally agree that Chanel is trying to meet the needs of the market particularly in Asia ( like Japan) where proper fragrances are literally are either considered a taboo or a bad business manner. You’d be surprised how fast this mist sold out in Tokyo. Number 1 skincare line and of course Eau Rouge is a very smart and conscious move to the market segment which needed attention long ago.
