This video sadly didn't have much effort put into it, if I failed on any elaborations or expressed a message that didn't feel right, please let me know. This video was in production hell and I lost a motivation for this video but I decided last night I should just finish it so yeah. I do really love Persona 2 and I hope I was able to encompass it in a short video. Also all sources and videos used here are linked in the description below; there's not many Persona 2 footage uploaded onto the internet so I am so grateful to those that upload their footage, they're the best.

I finished it last year and MY GOD it has everything a Persona game needs. My favorite cast (second to P4), fusion demons by cards, an actual PLOT, and also Tatsuya and Maya being my favorite protagonists in the series.

theres so much to say about tatsuya and maya and they get two whole games to delve into who they are and how they feel even though the other is silent in their respective game

It has arguably the best main character and story in the entire franchise when the remake hopefully does come out for this, I think it will probably become a lot of peoples new favorite since I feel like a vast majority of all modern persona fans have probably never played anything before 3

My biggest question is, will Atlus remake it with the modern formula or keep it as a mostly faithful remake? I feel like either choice has a chance of alienating different parts of the fanbase(The OG fans and the Modern Formula fans) similar to the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake.

I've been trying to play through the old persona titles (1/2) because i love the atmosphere... But I just can't sit through that gameplay. Basically I love everything about it except actually playing the game

This. I’d want to say that they didn’t age well, but they didn’t play well in the first place. Getting through P2 was a chore, and it’s one of the few games I wouldn’t feel bad about using cheats. In their original state IS and EP are just not fun to play.
@noodlegirl85286 ай бұрын
@@k_nil6540 nah fr and i cant even deny that even though I enjoy it, and I point that out wishing it had an adaptation like P1 in case people didn't want to play it. P2 had an anime special but it was essentially a trailer, its a shame

What a great video and production. I was so surprised when I saw that you had only 200 subscribers! Good luck with the channel man, you earned a sub.

Good shit man, definitely would be happy to be watch a summary or something of p2 with spoilers. I'm honestly really scared to play it because I think I'd just die from depression
@noodlegirl85286 ай бұрын
There's a couple videos going into it heavily indepth moreso than I could but yeah the game reeks of depression and sadness in a good way. If I did do a summary it'd probably be just recounting the events and reacting to it like its my first time. If it does get a remake i cannot wait for how they voice some of the most heartwrenching scenes

Persona 2 had a very Stephen King vibe to it in a good way

I'm gonna be real, I've never heard that before but now that you mention it I can totally see it, the premise of Persona 2 seems like something straight out of stephen king

before i start in full i must address this in your preamble- i get what ya mean and ive heard this sentiment before- but i find it really hard to believe that concept at all. let me explian persona 1 2 3 are all different systems- 4 and 5 are the most similar to each other than 3. the part that gets me is why would anyone find it hard to jump from persona 3 back to just 2? whats the meaningful difference between playing two persona games back to back and playing a completely different game series like atelier instead of sticking to persona? do you believe being connected by the name sets a precedent? if thats the case final fantasy wouldnt be the biggest rpg in the game. every game tried to be unique in some capacity. 7 8 and 9 wildly swung in progression systems and minigames- x ditched atb for the first time while reiterating on 8s development system. and so on you get it- so if all thats true- then why do people feel this way? its not even age maybe what were truly anxious about is how deep baseball it might be- like persona is pretty easy to get into compared to other shin megami projects specifically because its a buncha normal people doing the rpg thing. but i def know when i present something kinda weird on first look i cant help but be hesitant or try to set the stage for their expectations leaning on more realism and less gushing- which of course prolly accidentally sells that it would be a drag actually; like were warning them old thing doesnt always do convenient stuff.

Oh no I completely understand, and your comparison with Final Fantasy is a really good one. I think when I talk about how people find it difficult to go from 3 to 2 is that a lot of people base Persona on it's recreational activities (social links, calendar system) and despite the gameplay differences between 3 4 & 5 they still retain those aspects. In the end, it's not the biggest change in terms of gameplay like you've said but I think Persona's major appeal lies in that 'life simulation'. I think it comes down what people expect of Persona based on the modern games; I haven't played much of Final Fantasy so feel free to refute if I get this point wrong, but with Final Fantasy the appeal to me or the reason I play is it is that I want to play an rpg with an engaging story and no matter the gameplay I'm still getting that. I feel Persona is a unique case with this but that's just my thoughts for right now sorry for the ramble

@@noodlegirl8528 i clearly don mind rambling, bu i think you answered great. i still think maybe were setting people up to think worse of the game by representing it seemingly defensively but now atleast i know why beyond just the defense. maybe as fans presenting persona 2 we should change to- persona 2 is fantastic and explian why that is before dropping them a warning. which i think will land much more enthusiastically. when i was a kid 8 was the blacksheep- but playing it a year ago for the first time i can say those are heavily biased comparisons cause 8 kicks ass and people were simply wrong to set that expectation. alot of what 8 is ended up building 10 as well a thing i notice in hindsight because 10 was so vital to my childhood. i dont fully blame audiences reactions for persona 2 needing the warning- but i think that lesson being applied might make us more convincing proponents of this duology.
