Atlus finally "announced" the Persona 3 Remake as well as a P5 tactics game. Let's talk about the former for a lot and the latter for much less.

That’s 100% what is probably taken from the movie bc while in the og cutscene it focuses solely on Orpheus in the movie it cuts back to makoto in the middle of it and he looks up screaming in the exact same way Edit: his eyes are also glowing blue when it happens in the movie so I think it’s very safe to say that’s just for the Thanatos transformation

Regarding the shot of the mc eye glowing when summoning his persona, I'm pretty sure that's them taking from the p3 movie as thats what happens when Thanatos bursts out of Orpheus almost one to one. This potentially mean they might shove some stuff from the movies into the remake be it a good or bad thing. Like i wouldn't mind them adding more ryoji stuff or more scenes between shinji and ken like they did in the movies.

Tartarus was a blast for me. Four runs and its still one of my favourite experiences. Rather than seeing it as a chore, it's very calming running about. Scaling tartarus, farming enemies and equipment.

@@Bliss_TB Saaaame. I also felt like the new floors would slowly evolve into a real mess of an environment that I couldn't expect. Kind of like cosmic horror. You reach so far in Tartarus that things begin to make even less sense, but you're forced to climb. I definitely hope they add more stuff like the sticker functionality in mementos. But I definitely won't be complaining if it's still Tartarus. Legit can't wait to get bodied by a mid-floor boss who is literally just a table.

I agree. I don’t think it’s a blast but it’s very cozy. I personally find it better than most P4 dungeons considering floors are a lot smaller and you’re not very pressured to clear a block of Tartarus in a small window of time. I also think Mementos is neat.

the original PS2 models for P3 were not chibi, they were slim, proper human proportions. I think the difference we're getting visually is more to do with the change in camera angle as the original PS2 always forced a bird's-eye view of the environment except for in the 2D animated cutscenes, and now we're getting camera angles you'd expect from Persona 5 (ground level, following character/over the shoulder) which very greatly changes how "large" an environment feels relative to the characters. I'd also say for some of the visuals/UI being bland... I think that's why they're aiming the release for "early" next year. Just the damage numbers have changed between this leak and the original leak of Yukari shooting a shadow in Arqa Block with her bow, so I think it's more than reasonable to assume they'll at least try to further improve there.

The characters were definitely "deformed", semi-chibi-like before... but I agree the main reason for the environments looking kind of off is the camera. It was sort of fixed before in a way that it focused on the interesting elements in each scene, so with a new unlocked camera they need to fill the world with more interesting things to look at from all angles, that's why it looks sort of empty right now. I too thing its still early to really judge that aspect though, some scenes shown on this trailer lack proper lightning and textures and stuff, so I'm fairly certain they'll improve at least the graphic aspect before release.

I definitely agree with you on the color pallet of the game, I had pointed it out to a few of my friends and they told me that it looks fine so I thought I was just nitpicking. Even though I would prefer a darker color pallet for the game, I don't mind a brighter one as long as they polish it out.

-The circle is still a gun reference looking at how it's animated, it can also double as a moon. I think they need to test the waters with a flashy but minimalist UI, P5 got us spoiled for clutter (love that bitch tho. P3 has always leaned minimalist) -The characters are mostly proportional I think, it's just that some of the items have always been huge (the table in Iwatodia dorm) - Gekkukan is bigger then Shuji, and sports a lot more sweeping halls and hide spaces. It might feel emptier due to the camera angle and the fact that's it's stupid big. It's supposed to feel kinda breathy and light, so filling it up too much might make it feel off.

The game will probably just feel like persona 5 but with minor improvements to the combat system and faster gameplay from the ssds in the new consoles.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with replacing some of the anime cutscenes with 3D scenes instead. I hope it's not all of them, but it's kind of cool to see some of the old cutscenes in 3D, like the one w/ summoning Orpheus just looks really cool to me idk. I hope it's not all 3D but I think for the awakening scene in particular it's cool to see it changed . . Regardless we still have the old game to look at when it comes to that stuff so I won't really be upset either way :J

I recall some old persona 5 game play had different UI than the final version of it. So there is still hope that they can make it look even better. Also tarterus is fine. I enjoyed it way more than any of the social links that were in P3 and I loved the fact that you could split the party to help scout out the floors way faster than in any of the games after it.

The discussion around P3R is about to be so annoying as we learn more about the game. People asked for a remake for so long, but now that it's happening people are going to overanalyze every little detail and complain before we even see game footage. If the game actually has a lot of flaws on release than it should be criticized (P3P Remaster), but I feel like the next months are about to be really annoying on this fandom.

I feel the battle HUD/UI is not "meant" to look good on screenshots but it shining mostly through its animations and how dynamic it looks and feel. Which I think is a cool idea in all honesty. We can very briefly see some animations as Yukari starts her turn and it's pretty sweet. Same goes for damage text on enemies being animated in a pretty stylized way. If the combats are super responsive and snappy (which they seem to be) I think this approach of UI will work great instead of having a chunkier UI that doesn't animate much/at all. Baiscally wait to see the UI "in action" before judging it too hastily.

One very important thing that I hope that they change about persona 3 in the remake is to allow oneself to stay platonic with all the female characters but still complete their social link. I also want the characters to have more romantic interactions and the non-sees social links to have voice acting. I also want there to possibly be some alternate endings as well aside from the current ones we have. I also want more social links to be added since it it may be the penultimate rerelease. I’ll definitely play this even if I already completed p3p awhile back. I’ll play it a few years later but have a more full experience. Also, I want Tartarus to be more dynamic and less repetitive and more themed as well. If they make these changes, many people who already replayed the game will have many reasons to play this rerelease.

I might be one of two people looking more forward to P5T instead of P3R, but that's mainly because I'm currently playing P3 in any capacity (Portable in my case). And also Fire Emblem Engage left a pretty big hole in my heart in terms of the genre (though I think FE is more strategy). Regarding P5T, I can see why people dislike the art style. Chibi is already an exaggerated style, but they go ahead and further exaggerate the limbs. I'm mostly okay with this, but I won't lie and say that I think the Q style is better. Though I am confused as to why they decided to go the chibi route at all in this game, especially if the game will be canonical to the series.

I think your being pretty nitpicky with your hopes for P3R, especially with the whole 2D Animated Cutscenes. While, I wouldn't mind that they would being them back, I would prefer them not to as this would make it much for easier for them to replace the MC with the FeMC if they do confirm that she'll be in the game. I don't think they are willing to soend that much money to animate and then edit out MC and replace with FeMC that smoothly. 2D Animation takes time to make way more than 3D.

I’m glad they’re going the canon route with Makotos campaign, imo Femc ruined the impact of the games story and just didn’t have enough differences to warrant a third play through of this long ass game. Makoto really had that character development when at the end you could tell he cared about his friends and wanted to protect them at the cost of his own life, also the momento mori foreshadowing was cool.

I actually don’t want the anime cutscenes. In P3 they were great partly because the technology was more limited back then. Also Atlus was nearly bankrupt. In P5 I never felt the anime cutscenes were necessary. I think it would have been better off with in engine cutscenes and I’m actually glad they’re doing that here. Also you should probably just give up on FeMC and the Answer. I highly doubt either is happening.

New fans be like: Sorry for “toxic” behaviour, but I find this ridiculous. P5T looks terrible as if they have a budget of PersonaQ, totally gonna skip this trash. And P3 just hide its graphical issues behind effects. Don’t tell me that you are okay for example with the island from the beginning of the trailer? Or school entrance which lacks the details and actually is just a few plain cylinders as columns and rectangles? What about running animation in school which is the same as Joker from P5? What about no shadows in dorms? Bright and colourful picture, when the game is about death? What about battle Ui which is just a circle. Yes, new models are great, new menu is great, animation in cutscenes look great. But it really looks like Atlus gave it a very small budget and just threw it on outsource. That is why we won’t get FEMc or The Answer. They just don’t care about P3. But I am still optimistic that they will at least try to fix all those problems, they are not that major (except of the lack of details), and hopefully we will see significant changes in gameplay. If not - there will be no reason to play it.

And just and FYI, in his awakening scene, Makoto doesn't just picks up the gun and shoots himself, he hears Orpheus telling gim to do it. At least in the vanilla P3 and FES, I think this doesn't happen in P3P.

This came off as super nitpicky in some parts. It was a one minute trailer of a game still in development. With this amount of overanalyzing you'll never be happy. 1) the school IS huge, if you had seen the movies you'd know. 2) the textures in some areas are likely still in development. 3) The UI in battle does resemble a revolver still in animation. They're likely trying out a cleaner style that again is still not final. I get that people hoped we had FeMC and The Answer, but I'll take the W as is. It's a miracle we're getting this game in the first place.

Honestly I want to know who P5T is for, because who honestly still wants P5 Spinoffs at this point? The game has been out for almost 6 years now and people are getting ready to move on. I even saw this last year with the P5 Switch port where a lot of people had already lost interest even with how many of them used to want that so badly. P5 just feels like it's run its course by now. Maybe the people who just got into P5 with the ports I guess, but they also already had spinoffs on the same console, as well as other mainline games to play. It's just a weird announcement in general.

Femc would be easier to implement with no animated cutscenes and I’m all for it tbh. I want this to be the most content full version when it’s all complete, even if it takes DLC to get there. I'm actually rather upset about p5 Tactica, especially with style choice and the plot set up. On first glance P3RE looks great, but it’s just not true. You all are wrong. Just because you waited for it so long doesn’t mean it looks good. Look closely. See how protag has the same running animation as joker from p5? See how there is a lack of any shadows in dorms? See how island in the beginning of the trailer looks like. See how the buttons during the fight looks like (no more revolver). See how the school in the background looks like. See how the game is more colourful now. See how they didn’t even try to improve The Answer or that they didn’t show FEMc content. Yes, I know that Atlus didn’t say anything official yet, but judging by this trailer, we won’t get any additional content. Also fighting animations look like they are a ripoff from soul hackers 2. What I want to say is that this game just screams at you “I had low budget”. It looks cheap and they try to hide it behind the effects and nostalgia. I am sorry guys, I want to be hyped, but it just looks cheap. Atlus just through it into outsource and that’s it.

what...? (Lighting --->) How else is the school with alot of windows natural lighting and lights supposed to look? Depressed? Gloomy? No, It's supposed to be bright. The only reason why it looked gloomy on the PS2 was because it was the PS2 you can't get realistic lighting on that thing. The ramen shop has alot of lights too so it's gonna be bright. the only thing I can agree on being way too bright is the dorm house it has too little lights for it to be THAT bright. Paulownia Mall has great lighting even darker than the original. The dark hour lighting looks fine to me. The running, How else is he supposed to run? you do realise he has a bag right? and for the bag not to fall he has to hold it, HOLD IT. So his movement options are a bit limited. The battle UI is prolly the last thing on the priority list and I can agree that it doesn't look that great, but it's not the end of the world. how else is the school supposed to look like? it's a big school obviously it's gonna be big. and also for everyone saying the proportions look weird, no they don't? do you want the school hallway to be as big as it was in OG P3? that wouldn't make sense since school hallways aren't that big. The island in the background at the beginning looks like shit I agree, hopefully they'll make it look better or just change the cutscene to be an animated anime cutscene instead. I fully expect the Answer to be either DLC or just revealed later on, and if it is DLC I hope it's 20$ max and it includes FeMC and any costumes they might add to the game. (But knowing Atlus they'll sell the costumes if there are any separately) But honestly I think the Answer is going to be revealed closer to the release date of the game, and also if they do add the FeMC I hope they cut the Ken romance option cause it has no right to even exist. As for the Soul Hackers 2 animations since I haven't played the game I'm not that knowledgeable on the topic but from the videos I've seen they don't look similar at all. Like I said I haven't played SH2 so don't quote me on that. (I also haven't seen anyone use basic attacks in SH2) How does it look cheap? the character models look very good, the main pause menu looks stunning, and alot of the UI looks pretty good too. They also added a whole ass kitchen to the dorm and a new event with Yukari and Makoto using the kitchen and cooking some food. They also remade the sprites, and also the character models cause altough they may looks similar they aren't the models from P3 Dancing Moonlight. And they also rewrote some dialog, like in the ramen shop, and probably through out the game. They also remade the fusion animation and I'm not entirely sure if it's because the fusion animation is playing but the velvet room looks pretty dark. Also to add my personal opinion here, I honestly do not care for the revolver wheel, it's not needed it's just UI it doesn't impact gameplay a whole lot. If they do decide to remake the battle UI and add the revolver wheel back I'm not gonna complain.

@@WafflesCD I mostly agree with you and I didn’t say that models are bad, they are great, and animations also are great, especially in cutscenes. Just a minor detail about running animation, Makoto didn’t have a bag in vanilla game, so they added it here probably because of the joker’s animation, to fit it right. I am sorry if my comment looks like I am totally depressed about P3RE, I am not, and I understand that those things I mentioned are not big problems. But this animation just sets me off, because I see cool Joker there, not depressed Makoto. And about school or “bland” graphics. What I mean is if you look at Shujin for example from P5, at the entrance, you can see all those little details, like the roughness on the stone walls or even dirt. You can see what material it is made from. And in P3RE there is no roughness. It is bland because in my opinion it lacks the details. Lightning is great, also in classroom the lightning is totally fine. I just feel like this structure is empty. Or for example the mall. Textures of the doors seems to me 2d, not 3d. But it can be just because of poor quality of the trailer. So yeah, those are not big problems, I agree with you, it just sets me off a bit, including no mentioning of femc and the answer. All those things for me a just signs of cheap outsource development. Smt5 is on unreal engine, but it looks far better. Because Atlus themselves did it. But P3RE looks like an outsource project. BUT it is far too soon to jump to conclusion, let’s wait official announcement with more details about new game features!

@@lolkek6807 I can see your points, The game obviously isn't flawless, you can see the rough edges in the dorm (especially the door) and on the island in the background with Aigis. But we're still a bit over half a year away from the games release, so I expect them to fix the lighting and textures. there's also a rumour going around of people seeing a pink box art for P3Re, now I don't know if that's fake (it's unconfirmed I'm pretty sure) but if it's true then that might mean we are getting Makoto and Kotone as separate games like pokemon. And if that's the case then there's hope for the Answer for both Makoto and Kotone. Also the reason I responeded to you is because your comment sounded too nitpicky. Criticism is good for the game just don't go overboard so that you sound like you're nitpicking. (Edit) I also fully expect the game to be delayed like so many others have, it's not that I don't have faith in the team. I'm just keeping my expectations lowered for that release window. but hey who knows they might make it on time, and if they do that's great! (Edit edit) I'm really excited for the game. I can't wait to experience P3, the only reason why I haven't yet is because people said the p3p port was shit (it was) so I didn't buy it. The reason as to why I don't just emulate is because, I don't know where to get the roms from so I just don't bother.

@@WafflesCD Totally agree, problems are not major, they can be easily fixed. Just hope there will be the answer and femc, so you could experience Persona 3 story fully. I myself played FES on ps3 and P3P on psp, so I really want to know how they will improve the game. But mostly I just want this remake to be good, so more people will enjoy arguably best persona game in the series.

Fuck that. No The Answer, no FemC. Cut that content and make it non-canon. The game looks perfect in my opinion. Unreal Engine has come a long way with UE5 in the visuals department and we don’t need the outdated look of the original PS2 cutscenes. Atlus can flex their knowledge by making very high quality stuff that’s all in game like Aigis’ appearance. In my opinion, you want animated visuals? Go watch the movies, this is the game.
