It’s funny to think about how the ultimate personas (and almost all ultimate weapons in most games) often get outclassed by other more practical personas.

Especially Yoshitsune and Trumpeter, who don't require any Social Links and yet tend to be on most P4 endgame teams. But yeah a lot of ultimate Personas aren't amazing, P5 improved that by giving each one a unique Trait, which can be passed down in fusion. So even if you don't want to use the Persona itself, it's important to unlock to "add its Trait to the gene pool".

Izanagi’s design seems to draw a…. bizarre amount of attention to his crotch. His coat seems to be cut out around it revealing a shiny metal codpiece with a weird clamshell shape. Is this some sort of weird reference to how he said he would make 1,500 people each day to counter the 1,000 Izanami would kill; portraying him as super-virile or something? That’s the only reason I can think of.

It's the one aspect of Izanagi's design that I find off-putting, especially the zipper on it. Though I don't know if that's as weird as Vohu Manah having a crotch spike, as a mythological entity with no sexual aspects from what I can tell. Replaying P5 recently I was like "I really like this thing's design and it's the ultimate of one of my favourite Confidants and... [rotates model] wait, why does it have a giant spike down THERE like Incubus?!"

With Alice being promoted to ultimate Death in P5, I'm very surprised Yoshitsune hasn't become ultimate Tower yet. When I saw who ultimate Tower was in P5 I was like... "seriously"? I think SMTV was the first mainline game Yoshitsune had Hassou Tobi in. And it's even more ridiculous there since it always crits, so it effectively only costs half a turn.

It's funny how P5 nerfed him by making one of his components the Ultimate Magician, which doesn't max out until the final day of the vanilla game. But then Royal added another month of gameplay.... and made a Mementos miniboss turn into Yoshitsune, using pretty much the exact strategy you tend to do with him. (Joker with Drain Phys makes it not that hard though)

Mada getting the infamous boss theme was due to it being a boss in Nocturne's Diet Building, which I mostly remember from watching speedruns. (Which occasionally have trouble with Surt, who comes earlier there) It's the main "Kaguya" music I know, and I also wanted an excuse to use it as it's great.

Izanagi has a really cool design and is probably up their as one of my favourite starting Personas for the protagonist but he will have to compete with Seimen Kongou. I have good memories of using Loki in SMT5 since he acted like a second protagonist in most fights. It is strange that Isis becomes such a low level Persona in Persona 5 since she is an ultimate here. Kohryu or Huang Long was an amazing support demon for me in SMT5. Zaoh-Gongen is so cool that he gets two exclusive skills for himself in SMT5. Fun fact, in Revelations: Persona, Beelzebub was called Beezlebum. He was also really hard to fuse in that game. Shiva likes getting really good personal skills since Tandava continues the trend. The Satan vs Lucifer thing is probably one of my favourite aspects of SMT since I had no idea that Satan was described differently at first. Kaguya is so broken in Persona 5 despite being such a low level Persona. The second palace boss gets quickly dispatched by her. Kegare is also really important in Eternal Punishment which is another connection between Magatsu and Persona 2. Myriad Truths is something in Persona 5 Royal.

Ah yes, Persona Bios: The Movie. The length was a bit surprising to see, but it does check out. Honestly though, I’m glad the representative of the Broken Arcana was included. Now this is what I call a truly comprehensive, conclusive resource. Not going to lie, the version of I’ll Face Myself used for the Hierophant and Justice bios, as in Nanako and Dojima’s links, caught me super off guard at first. Then I remembered the links themselves, and I got a little choked up. Definitely did not expect to have that happen today, but that’s just what happens with this music variety. The themes aren’t only to match the Persona, but for other things sometimes.

I'm feeling like if I did bio comps for PoR/RD they'd be even longer, given that it's over 50 characters there. It's actually an album mix of a different song, it just ends up incorporating I'll Face Myself. In the original series I maxed both in the same episode, so that was why they shared a song.

Loki: Funny how popular he’s gotten in current media including Persona itself. I’ll leave it at that considering P5 spoilers and the LP being around the corner. Mada: That story might explain why his trait is called Drunken Passion. Also I love how he was used as a giant middle finger to finally let the twins in. Scathach: Oh Cu Chulainn. You would be Gary Stu’s true persona had he not upgraded to Messiah and became a door. Isis: How fitting that Yukari’s Ultimate Persona in later games becomes a support Persona. Late game here. Early game Persona 5. Odin: Well. Wind based Odin didn’t last too long. He ended up stealing back Thunder Reign and ends up getting a Thunder based Trait. Ah well at least if it wants to be recreated it’s possible to do so after a ton of fusion shenanigans in Persona 5 Royal. Kohryu: Both this and a later Persona I always get now considering story related reasons. Fitting that Dojima nets you a fantastic Support and Offensive Persona. Ishtar: Love is a VERY fickle thing. Good lord. Poor Gilgamesh. Actually I am surprised that Gilgamesh isn’t a modern Demon/Persona now. Hell his ONLY appearance is Demi-kids/Devil Children. This guy is one that needs a return. He’s awesome. Futsunushi: I find it funny how Futsunushi is usually overshadowed by much better options. He’s completely absent in P4 and P5 makes him a fusion ingredient to Yoshitsune. It’s even worse in Royal where his Trait is more suitable to Yoshitsune than it is on him. This guy just doesn’t catch a break in this series. Sraosha: Kinda funny that a physical build Persona has to kinda be raised to DO physical. Which is oddly fitting considering you get him from maxing out Nanako as you’re helping her as her “big brother”. Ongyo-ki: Yeah this one is just weird. I typically use him as Fusion Fodder for his skill card like you said. At least in SMT3 and Persona 5 he shines much brighter. Norn: Cheeky with the music in this bit. Norn is my Debilitate user for the early parts before I get my hands on Mr. Doot himself. Norn preforms a niche but it’s a nice niche. Zaoh-Gongen: Yeah he is bizarre in his build and even oddly useless to me. HOWEVER! He does have one primary use to me. Thanks to his base endurance stat he is one of the tankiest Persona. I throw Firm Stance onto him and attempt to pass on as many immunities onto him as possible. Making him the ultimate face tank. Attis: So a Gods removed penis became it’s own being, was being hit on by its owner/mother, and castrated itself which killed itself. What is it with mythic being strange? Moving along. I think that’s why he’s got no way to stop his Dark weakness initially. His life, death, rebirth status. You live until you get hit with a Mudo and get revived by Enduring Soul. Mahakala: Yeah I feel as if that as a Death Persona he’s ill fitting to be its ultimate persona. Though I’ll give it credit. What comes before and after it give it so much more of a run for its money. Thanatos is important to its story and Alice is Alice. It’s basically fighting with one hand tied behind its back. Vishnu: While he is unremarkable here I do have to give him credit in P5 because by doing the main story you are bound to unlock him. He was one of three ultimate persona I unlocked in that game due to me not knowing how the social link system worked and he was incredibly helpful. Beelzebub: Ah the magic nuke has arrived. Easily one of the best ultimates that can be unlocked and I had him learn every element, megadolaon, mind charge, and is who I used to max out their stats first. Love this big guy. Miss his death flies move from SMT3. Shiva: DESTRUCTIOOOOOOON! God I LOVE Shiva. Better yet. I think I showed this off to you but giving him Absorb Physical makes any encounter where Physical Reflects back heal you that many times it’s reflected. Which allows you to throw it out even more. Shiva is one of my favorites full stop and I already voiced my discontent on how he was RUINED by P5. I want my Pralaya back in something other than Q2 guys! Ah well at least I have DLC Persona to work with. Helel: Gee Lucifer. How come they let you have TWO ultimate persona slots? All joking aside I feel inclined to make Helel and Lucifer have two different functions. Helel is mainly a healing persona the one that has the Auto-buffs and Lucifer is the first one to get a Debilitate Skill Card an idea the one that fires powerful attacks. Sandalphon: I typically don’t use him but he IS nice to have thanks to his starting kit. Generally nothing to complain here. Actually in P5? Moon also was one of the first ones I ever completed on my first run. Asura: Yeah you kinda hit the nail on the head. Asura really is just another you fuse for the card it drops. Kinda a shame. Though your frustration amused me. Lucifer: Yeah funny how two story related ultimate persona happen to be two halves of the same guy. Also Yu flat out cheated and summoned this guy before he had access to it in the anime. Not fair. Kaguya: God she is such a massive troll. Also how fitting she’s a glass cannon here as in P5 not only is she much better but in Royal in particular she’s *hilariously* broken of you give her nothing but reflects. I believe one of the super bosses were defeated by him only just having Kaguya selected. Yoshitsune: “The arcana is by which all is revealed. You are OPAF. Do you even NEED that much fire power?” Actually if we had access to Yoshitsune in Persona 3 the final boss could probably be cut down in time to be much shorter. Nothing to add here. Just. Lol Yoshitsune. Magatsu-Izanagi: Actually one might just go down the Bad Ending to obtain Magatsu-Izanagi just to get the Heat Riser skill card faster. It IS that tempting as you get to avoid the last few final dungeons and get to NG+. Sure you’ll be left helping a murderer but you can always fix the issue in NG+ Izanagi-no-Okami: I would complain that by the time you obtain him you would basically only use him against Margaret as there’s nothing left to beat. It is also the only time you could use him. Though hilariously I get my answer as to why this is the case thanks to Persona 5 and Royal just showing off as to why you wouldn’t want player ultimate persona fully accessible in a first playthrough main story run. Holy crap InO is outright busted in Royal. So hilariously busted people made a mod to backport his Myriad Truths in P5R into P4G. Yes the mod makes InO just as busted as you think it does even without the trait.

Loki's always been popular, but I'm really surprised the Marvel version isn't in Marvel vs Capcom yet. With how much Infinite cashed-in on the MCU, you'd think they'd add him. And he has a lot of fun moveset potential. I remember Shiva being decent in P5, if only because, via Special Treatment, it's very easy to get him in the 6th Palace when you're in the low 50's. Helel's still nowhere near as broken as in P3 though... Admittedly it was pretty cool in the anime, and the summoning happened just before Judgement canonically maxes out, so I'm okay with it. Fusing Beelzebub against Shadow Naoto though? THAT's cheating. Reflection in general is broken in P5. Just watch speedruns. I suppose. The last few months go by pretty fast though, I find. InO is pretty dumb in Royal, here he's just a bragging rights reward. I hate that you can't register him to the Compendium. (Though that at least means 100% isn't locked behind NG+ like in P5)

Beelzebub is also a notable Persona in the P4 anime for always being a big presence. Yu first summons him against Shadow Naoto, way before most sane players would have him, and proves just as OP as one would expect. He saves Kanji from the Shadow by body slamming her away and freezing her gun hand with Mabufudyne, then charges up a Megidolaon that forces the IT to take Naoto and run, and ends up obliterating the entire dungeon. Needless to say, when Namatame’s boss form (I forget the name) mind controls Yu and forces him to summon this Persona, the entire team freaks out, though thankfully they’re able to prevent it from using Megidolaon.

I'd love to see this kind of thing for Fates. I couldn't really get into Awakening but Fates: Conquest is absolutely in my top 10 list of games

Klingy does bios in every FE/Persona game that gets a playthrough on the channel. However the majority of them aren't in their own playlists. For example, since Awakening: PoR, RD Sacred Stones and Tear Ring Saga all have bios, but you'd have to go through the playthrough for the episode that character joins in for the bio. Luckily Klingy is very good at labeling and segmenting FE playthroughs by chapter, so you could probably search up the chapter a character joins and then go to that video for the bio. There are also bio's for the Persona 3 FES playthrough and the Persona Q playthrough. Those may require a bit more searching through the playthroughs though.

I'd actually like to do a full in-depth Conquest playthrough with bios someday, as I find Conquest's cast one of the most balanced in any FE game. (Camilla's a bit too good, but nobody's outright bad... which is insane for such a hard game)

At 31:24 (Ongyo-Ki), it sounded like you said there's no accessory for Firm Stance to which I would respectfully disagree with; the Divine Pillar accessory serves as Firm Stance substitute and can be found in both Magatsu Inaba and true end dungeon. Other than that, great video.

Unfortunately I can't look at a Pokemon trailer anymore without picturing how much salt fans will throw at it, but apparently reactions to this one weren't that bad? The legendaries are definitely rideable (something a leaker called), and the two versions have a "past vs future" theme going. Since a bike would be a convenient form of travel in an open world, I wonder if you'll get the box legendaries early in this one, around midgame or even sooner? It'd be a twist on the formula if the box legendary was part of your team for most of the story, although they'd have to not be too powerful. My main takeaway though was... everyone's going on about how hot the two new Professors are and I'm just like "huh?" That was not a thought that leap out to me when I saw them. The main thing that interests me is the website promising non-linearity. I'm really, really hoping for scaling teams for Gym Leaders based on when you battle them. (Something that has been confirmed to happen in lore since Gen 5)

I Personally want the sixth installment to return a bit to the Zodiac signs and give us persona based on the zodiac: For Aquarius, it can be Ganymedes and then the ultimate persona is Ea or as the Sumerians called him, Enki. Leo would be the Nemeian Lion and then Humbaba. Piscies would be Eros, then aphrodite and finally ishtar. Virgo could be first Demeter and then become Asteria. It's more of a rough idea from me, but it can become more elaborate and better.

I would absolutely love to see Odin's new design in a Persona game. P4G changed Loki to his most recent design compared to vanilla P4, why couldn't 5R do that for Odin? Also Loup-Garou would be pretty cool. And Zeus needs to be in more games. For such a major and popular god he's surprisingly not in a lot of major roles, V was his biggest and he was an optional boss in SJR I think. Hydra would also be cool.

Regarding your upcoming P5 walkthrough, I have some suggestions about the music background for the Ultimate Persona Bios. * Cybele: The instrumental version of "My Testimony" from P3 The Movie Winter of Rebirth. * Mother Harlot: The Fiends' Boss Fight theme from NOCTURNE. * Ishtar: Either "Misty" or "Servant or Ishtar", both from Giten Megami Tensei. * Alice: The main theme from Alice Madness Returns. * Ardha: Either the instrumental version of "Pray" (DDS Main Theme), the Final Boss theme of either DDS or DDS2, or Shiva's Boss Fight theme in SMTV. * Satan: "F6 Decide" from SMT IV Apocalypse. * Satanael: The 20th Anniversary Concert version of "Our Beginning", there's nothing that would fit better.

Also another you could use for Ishtar, now that I think about it, is her Boss Fight theme in SMTV (Battle -dancing crazy murder-).

That fusion also makes sense since Kwancha is an attendant for Shiva and also Kali and then Ganesha is his son. I would like to fuse Shiva in P1 but he is quite overleveled for that game's standards.

Izanagi’s elemental affinities are weird when considered with the starting Personas that come after and before him, even without considering the fact that both of them are weak to instant death elements on a character whose death is a hand over they have notably weeker elemental affinities than the party members do,with two weaknesses and at best 1 resistance. Well thinking about it Izanagi-no-Okami affinities in Perdona Q are insane and the funny thing is that’s I don’t feel it’s meant to make his affinities overpowered but come from marrying his actual affinities, his nature as a direct upgrade to Izanagi and the nature of Persona Q’s elements, he’s resistant to Fire, Ice, Electric and Wind as he was in his home game, but since he was resistant to Physical as a whole in his home game and Q has 3 physical elements, and he keeps his Darkness immunity because that is what Izanagi had. I remember not really liking that Mada was the Ultimate Magician Persona since I really liked Surt and didn’t like that Mada was now I’m that position and wasn’t as overall powerful, but I gained much more appreciation from Mada come Persona 5 where I feel it’s the best Fire based Persona in ghe game with iy moy needing much to excell. And on a bit of a tangent but something I learned is that Surtr will kill Freyr during Ragnarok and in Heroes Base Surt has a collar advantage over Base Freyr and their only alternate versions, Summer Freyr and Pirate Surtr have the same relationship and I’m not sure whenever or not it’s intentional or not.

Sataneal has the best resistances out of all Ultimate Personas thus far. This includes PQ2, pretty good considering that Joker dying is game over on the most difficult challenge.

@@TheJaredPunch Satanael does make the previous Protagonist Ultimates seem weak in terms of elemental affinities by comparison , Izanagi no Okami had no weaknesses but it also only had resistances and that didn’t include instant death elements, Messiah had the resistances to standard magic elements that Izanagi no Okami had and an immunity to Light but had a weakness to Dark with all the issues that causes. And their elemental affinities although not the best aren’t terrible either. It’s just that Satanael is immune to instant death and resistant to everything else is hard to beat

I'm definitely Surt over Mada as well, so it's a shame to see Surt get demoted so much. He's also build up as a big boss fight in SMTV and ends up being a joke if you have Black Frost.

It was interesting to see the Ultimate Personas again and seeing what made them great or meh for your rewards of building up the social links. Though after playing and beating four SMT games at the time of posting it, it's kind of weird seeing some demons as the ultimate personas of their arcana in P4G. Most notably, Loki, Scatchach, and Ishtar being ultimates is weird to me as I seen them as mainly mid-game to very early late game demons. Then there are demons who are usually lower leveled compared to their usual selves like Beelzebub and Shiva being early level 80s instead of being in the 90s. Even demons who match their rough level ranges in the SMT games still feel odd as ultimates, like both Sraosha and Sandalphon since they're usually outdone by Metatron as the ultimate Herald demon (or at least outranking them if Seraph is in the same game as them), or miss skills I natural associate with them, like Vishnu lacking Salvation in P4G when he usually packs that in his base kit. I'm curious to hearing about how the Persona games handles which figures get to be ultimate Personas and if there's any dev notes/comments on it. With mainline games it's easy since they usually have the most revered/powerful figures as the strongest demons, but I would like to know how Persona decides upon that. In other news, I finished up new neutral as well in SJR, thus I can officially consider myself now finishing Strange Journey Redux. I'll probably come back for a NG+ run to see New Law as I hear it's a law ending people like, but for now, I'm done. Will probably save my thoughts on it for another video since I (A.) More time to reflect on my experiences with the game and (B.) Feel a bit too lazy/tired today, so I'd rather write about it when I'm more motivated. For what I'll say about doing New Neutral, I'll save that for below due to vague, but still notable spoilers. With SJR done for now however, I now have an open slot for another game to play and I have some stuff in the backlog I've been wanting to get back to. As for the one game I've been working on NG+ for, I had an "experience," a very frustrating, but relieving one when it was over. So the short of it was I came to one of that game's hardest mid-game fights and it was annoying since you're in a very bad starting position, surrendered by enemies from both the front and rear, with each flank having a very annoying boss (both of whom are probably some of the most hatable (auto correct made it hittable, which isn't untrue lol) characters in that game and it was frustrating to reset because of one of them. Eventually I won and ensured those pricks got mostly fitting ends (except for one who I wanted on character to kill, but accidentally killed with another) and breathed a sigh of relief. Despite that fight being infamous, it was way harder than I anticipated, so what gives... So when I was grinding for money in that game, I have to put on Hard Mode for my main method to work... Guess who forgot to turn off hard mode afterwards? Yeah kind of kicking myself on that one, but at least I accidentally proved I could beat one of that game's hardest fights on Hard. At least for NG+. I can imagine how hellish that fight is on Hard with no NG+ to back you up. Well, at least I can move on to the next section of my NG+ run. Spoiler Warnings Below... So with what came with doing New Neutral in SJR, story wise I'm very mixed and annoyed. Mainly because the game decided to make the "true" final boss a more law aligned being who can be seen as another version/ very similar to God SMT loves to villainize. While I kind of find them more likable than the main final boss (at least this new one didn't cause the events of this game and doesn't advocate for the deaths of billions and destruction of human society like the other one), they still try to do stuff that would be bad for humanity (even if they genuinely they could do good for humanity) and have a moment make to make them look more evil (that is also very annoying since it directly benefits them in gameplay as well). They just felt REALLY shoehorned in as a final boss and don't like the potential reasons why they had to include that type of boss as well given the usual biases you see out of SMT (especially given how a certain prick was more or less just watching the whole and I wished I could take them out as well). For its ending, I'm far more positive, but not exactly a fan either. I like the idea of it, but doesn't live up to the more bitter sweet ending I was hoping to see and it ended up more bitter (and could have easily been fixed with one simple change to make it more like I had hoped). As for gameplay, I'm also mixed on the final boss as a fight as well. Again, like how there was a boss who was still a challenge even with an over leveled party, but I don't like the execution of why it was challenging. I like the ideas and it being a test of remembering how you overcame previous challenges, but I don't like how many of the previous challenges it brings back are a bunch of stuff form those previous challenges include several instant kill methods on you. I like the fight for again also making alignments and co-op attacks very relevant, but don't like how cheaply it does so and how if you can't pull off the later, the rest of the fight is likely unwindable due to the minuscule damage you'll be doing. Also not helping is how the boss does something similar to TDE's final boss when you think it's almost over and is a big FU that enabled both that previously mentioned villainizing moment and the recently mentioned limited DPS if you can't co-op attack consistently. Regardless of my overall mixed feelings on the New Neutral stuff, I still had an overall positive and great time with SJR and I look forward to writing about it more positively later. End.

It was interesting to see that too and also comparing the Personas here to how they are in other games. You can see some of those observations in my comment to simplify things. It may have been NG+ but good going on that really hard battle and it seems you got some satisfaction at putting those bosses in their place. Those kind of final bosses who just appear at the last minute are normally not well liked and it doesn't help that they sound kind of annoying to fight too. Regardless, it is cool to hear that you conquered Strange Journey and I can't wait to hear your overall feelings about it. As for me, more Cold Steel. I made some good progress on the field study after a successful day off and practical exam in the previous play session and got acquainted with Laura and Alisa in battle who are the two new party members that have joined for this mission. Both of them are really fun to use with Laura being a strong physical attacker with fun crafts to use as well as the first character to have a S Craft which looked quite cool although I am being sparing with using it. Alisa is great at using Arts and she has a craft that heals HP and CP in an area which is awesome and we saw how good Ries was with something similar. I also familiarise myself more with the Combat Links system by doing lots of battles as well as messing around with what Quartz I want equipped. The field study has me completing some tasks and I have done a required and unrequired task with one more required task to go that probably involves killing a boss. One great thing is that with each play session, I am becoming more comfortable with the battle system and enjoying it more as a result.

@@BerserkerRohan Yeah it is interesting to see how each games handles them. I was surprised to hear Isis being a low level one in Persona 5 when in all of the games I played where she's usable, she's at least in the late 60s for her level. Really is odd how that works and I wonder what influences the devs to make certain demons high level and then low level (or vice versa) in each game. Due to story reasons I would have preferred a certain character getting the finishing blow on one of them (they indirectly got one of the boss kills by lowering their hp and setting them on fire where the passive fire damage would kill them off), but at least that one boss still got what they deserved (shoved into a series of traps that did more damage than what I was expecting and finished them off). Also due to them being dumb, they climbed up to a spot where they couldn't attack anyone and by blocking their way down, they couldn't do anything for 95% of the fight, which was very amusing and satisfying when I found a consistent way of doing that. Again, at least I can say I was able to beat one of the most difficult maps on Hard Mode, even if it was NG+. Yeah, that's my main issue of them being last minute (technically) and having a fight that can quickly become very annoying, wasn't exactly the highest note to end on. Happy to hear you're enjoying Cold Steel more and more. Seems like you've gotten some great party members and any Craft like Ries' Holy Blessing is great in my books. Also great to hear you're getting more familiar and comfortable with the game's systems. Happy to see you're doing well in the game and hope it continues so.

@@jaredfayette2567 Isis might be due to the dungeon she appears in Persona 5 but it is still strange. Whatever the case, those bosses did get what they deserve and you did beat that map on hard. I can see bosses like those causing people to get a sour mood over the end of the game. I feel like things will only get better as my options for combat improve.

Yeaahhh....i ended up sticking with Izanagi for most of the game. Put it simply, i made him very busted. The only thing he needs to perfect it is Megido.

Izanagi's a cool design, and imo he's the best starting Persona across 3, 4 and 5 since he comes with a Dark immunity and Rakunda is a fantastic early skill.
