I love how the ultimate personas are put into 4 classes: personas that can have busted builds, outclassed by Lucifer, Lucifer the game breaker, and Satanael the cheat code

I wouldn't even call Lucifer a Game Breaker, since you need to be in the 90's to fuse him and by that point you're already strong enough to break most of the story.

I love that bless and curse got attacks that deal damage in p5 but i kinda wish they went all in on that because the lack of a severe damage skill of both elements makes belzebub and metatron and other high tier personas associated with those elements feel rather flacid, divine judgement and demonic decree are infinitely less useful than something like blazing hell

I personally prefer how they work in SMTV, where they basically combined Hama/Mudo with Kouha/Eiha. Hama and Mudo there are normal damaging skills, with a chance of instant death on enemies weak to them.

What's funny is that Chi You, who is in the Chariot arcana, should have been in the Magician arcana due to him being a good magic attacker despite Chariot personas are specialise in physical attacks. Both Futsunushi and Chi You should have swap place instead.

Overall I will say persona 5 had a good line up of ultimate personas. I said it again, I hope we get Doi demons desgin for persona 6 and even reload. Also I think Zues should the ultimate persona for emperor as Odin has already been emperor for 3 games. I will say yoshstuine should be the ultimate persona of tower given how powerful he is. But Shiva does fit the tower symbolism more.

There's some really cool ones but yeah, I'd like to see Zeus in the future. Along with Odin FINALLY having his 4A design in Persona. (Heck, I wonder if Odin will use that design in P3Re?) I'm really surprised Yoshitsune hasn't been "promoted" yet.

it’s so funny to me that being able to use Thermopylae at any time makes an ultimate persona so great but then female Orpheus walked up and was like what if I got it really earlygame, for 6 less SP, and also healed 50% max hp (or more if morgana is present) like girl calm down we get it😭😭

Speaking as catholic, Seeing Mother Mary as the ultimate persona was quite surprising. Also here a funny story went playing smt 5. I choose the law route and one of the last sidequest was facing a boss that an mother spirit. If you chose law it was Maria. You wouldn't believe how cursed was for me. Even when Maria was going it okay to face, it feel really wrong. Also here something other stuff about maria. Like Odin, she has alot of name and titles. the famous being The Madonna, Queen of heaven, Mother Mary, Theotokos(translate "to bearer of god") for orthodox Christianity, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Guadalupe(Mexico Catholicism) and bunch of ther titles that literally fits a wikipedia page. Another famous thing with Maria is the Rosary in which if the prayer goes: "Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope, to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears; turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ."

I believe the gimmick for the Maria fight in V is she keeps healing herself to full every turn. At that point though my Demons were so strong I barely remember what I did, I just remember it was easy. SMT's portrayal of Mary/Marie has always been a little weird to me, since they conflate her with "mother goddesses" of other religions like Danu and Inanna.

I think putting her among other Mother goddesses (despite her not being considered one by the Church) makes sense, if not a bit strangr

I think I know atlus reason why he the max of the magician persona which is morgana is becasue you need him to fuse for yoshitune the best physical attacker in the game with Hassou Tobi. SO this si the reason why they did this so you couldnt make one of the OP personas any earlier than near end of the main game.

25:32 Did a little digging myself. The reason you had little luck finding any info was because you were searching in katakana instead of kanji as megami tensei games tend to use katakana for all demon names even if they are chinese/japanese. For reference, Ongyo-ki's name in kanji is "隠形鬼"

You can look it up for more info, but it's one of only two animals that talk in the Torah, and there's debate whether it's just an actual snake, a metaphor for temptation, or a servant of the devil. It being Satan is specifically a Christian thing that evolved out of earlier interpretations.
