I'm at the same level as you, as far as reading and writing go. My listening comprehension sucks😂 Native speakers speak so fast and speak puhekieli, so I get lost quickly. Thanks to the holidays, I am saving your videos for when I have more time to REALLY listen...but did I miss you telling WHICH book/app/lessons you are doing?? Are you self-studying the Oma Suomi 1 text? I've been thinking of buying it, but at $100 USD, that's a commitment! If it is worth it, I shall. Have a happy holiday!🎄❤️

Hey, thanks for the comment! Yeah listening can be really tricky for me too! It obviously depends on the speaker though, some of my teachers I understand well and can have conversations with, and others make me feel like I don't know any Finnish 😅 I'm currently studying with a company called Careeria and it's a course which is part of the TE Toimisto integration services. I have also studied in an evening course and also online with Helsinki University. I think studying with Helsinki University is the most effective, but you would still need to practice speaking outside of the courses as they are short and intensive and they don't provide much opportunity to put the theory into practice. I'm not familiar with Oma Suomi, but I had a quick look at the sample pages and it looks fairly well made. I would personally reccomend Suomen Mesteri books as they are the most commonly used in courses in Finland, so if you want to study at a course in Finland (online or in person), then you would need Suomen Mesteri books in order to attend. Also, make sure to buy the right level of book so you don't waste your money. Oma Suomi 1 looks like it is A2.1 - A2.2, so if you are already A2.2/B1.1, then I would suggest getting Oma Suomi 2, or if you chose Suomen Mesteri, I would suggest Suomen Mesteri 2. Thank you again for the comment and enjoy your Xmas holiday 🙏🤟🎊

Thanks for this video ! So helpful, when I have more time I'll see this video with more attention for better understanding . I don't know anything about finnish but I hope I will be at a good level one day. For me , a native portuguese speaker is like impossible to find a video about finnish in portuguese, only in English. I watch w subtitles bcs is better to understand all , and at least I can practice my English 😄 And about the spoken finnish be different from written finnish, I think is not a bad thing for me cause iin Portuguese we have this, example the word "para "( it mean to or for in english ) when we spoke, evryone says "pra " but in write must be 'para' ( in formal texts, or messages )
