Apparently, the new Lego Store in Sydney is the biggest such store in the world, but it doesn't feel that way. We actually thought that, being a midday between Christmas and New Year, that the city (and the store) wouldn't be too busy, but boy were we wrong.
We've been to a lot of places in the past where crowds have been huge, and I must say that our overseas experiences are much more positive than here in Australia. Places in Asia like Hong Kong, and theme parks like Disneyland, in California, are often packed to the rafters, but they seem to have a good handle on crowd movement. Even though queues might be long, they don't feel long, and you don't come out feeling completely exhausted.
This Lego Store does indeed have items that you can't find even in the smaller suburban Lego Stores, but it was super-crowded, and browsing was not a pleasant experience.
The best thing about this place was the ability to customise or personalise your very own Lego Minifigure. That was worth the effort and perseverance with the crowds. But I personally wouldn't go there for any other reason.
Thanks for watching, and if you have been to the flagship Lego Store in Sydney, let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
