Exactly, healthy ISTJs are warm, caring and kind. I loved the story about aunt Kris because I relate a lot. At my workplace people said to me, that they are grateful that I build an environment for the group to harmonize and get along and that felt really great. This video also helped me to understand how I can use Te even better from now on. Thanks!

I almost cried when I heard the part of women being stereotyped as feeling and it being difficult. I’m not super “feely” and I’ve kinda felt defective. But I’m glad it’s just how I’m wired.

I am ISTJ woman and I realy like this. It is good input that the system thing is actually a super power. I used to be annoyed that others don't see the systems, but knowing that it is my super power and they are just different makes sense. Do you have an advise for when I am forced into brainstorming at work? It is one of the things I really struggle with because everything is thrown op in air, and every body else thinks that it is awesome. Thanks for a great podcast

Spot on. Refreshing to hear a precise understanding of me from somebody else so clear. I disagree with the high school/town analogy. Plenty of my classmates were jealous and hated me. Rural area that was a family lead town, the system was already set.

So true. I am an ISTJ and have no desire to be the centre of attention. Having listened to this personality type I understand one of the most difficult situations since I can ever remember. I am, and I am begging you to believe what I say here, I am very good looking and it has haunted me all my life. I hate the attention, I feel a fraud, I feel guilty, I really don’t know what to say when someone compliments me on my good looks. You see logically my looks are not an accomplishment, just a combination of inherited genes. I am not special nor never was. I’ll work tirelessly behind the scenes, go home at the end of the day and not expect praise or recognition for my efforts. I am satisfied I have completed my task and that is enough. Is there anyone else out there who has had the same experiences.?
@cosmoss96202 жыл бұрын
Yes it looks like myself but even though I don't crave for attention,but if someone mentions me as not working just because I don't inform them creates anger and uncomfortable.

I have always come to realize that ISTJ individuals do NOT like things being unpredictable or filled with drama. Unfortunately, this is NOT true with everyone else. I truly love things being completely predictable, period!!
@TheDaytimel Жыл бұрын
True yeah. Sometimes it's not that we are afraid of the unknown/unpredictable. We just like things being predictable, neat and nice.

This podcast does really give an extensive, clear, impecable advice to the ISTJ’s. This is the best personality exploration I have seen. It is a pity that ISTJ’s are not interested in cognitive functions theory Very good program❤❤❤

I've tested as ISTJ, and identify with a lot of what you say, except: what I do is not my identity, and I don't like the word "career", or advancement. I take simple joy in completing my job well and helping people. I am very organized, but also am very creative and act spontaneously all the time. I do not label people and will talk with anyone; groups are cool but ultimately I do my own thing. Rules are good if I agree with them, but I respectfully challenge all the time. I don't like long term goals or strict habits. I have fun and banter all the time. Maybe just Gen X ISTJ with fully developed inferior functions?
@Kate987554 жыл бұрын
L Ashley hello...I’m a ISTJ, confronting rules or systems is part of being a systems/ operations person, you challenge to test the system, only then an you improve it. Twice I had a conference that someone else had been coordinating, I usually don’t make huge changes until I see how the prior system works, then I challenge and change to improve the conferences, I’ve usually increase the attendee number and the revenue. I’m successful enough that I keep getting conferences to improve, because i understand the value of observation, critical review and implementation of improvements.

As an INFJ who has previously lived with an ISTJ, I must confess I have found them uncompromising, cold and well a bit mean tbh! I found this interesting to understand them better.. I realise now their way of thinking is just polar opposite to mine and I can recognise they have a lot of good qualities that I can lack

Def! Hubby is ISTJ and boy when he's wrong he won't see it, gets defensive and we'll argue for like 3 days till his blistering migraine calms his ass down enough to hear me out 😑 could've avoided this if ya didn't skip over your co-pilot extroverted thinking

Istp, I’m seasoned enough to recognize stress, I regularly stop, shut my eyes and breathe, in the middle of a conference I’m running I’ll take a mini break to stop, shut my eyes and breathe. The night before it launches and the night of the first day, I’m in my hotel room early, I plan a nice warm shower, a good meal in my room preferably, and laying in bed watching something light in content, old enough to be in touch with my stress. Meditation is a must, focus all the things you’re managing as a game, line the tasks up like it’s a game, break tasks down, use your calendar to block out time to do parts of tasks, that makes it more game like...it’s all a game to me. Conference is over..,start again. I also do monthly mini conferences, timeline process is the same, just compressed.

It was a great podcast. After listening to it,I think a lot of things that you talked about makes me an ISTJ. I am very warm,affectionate,highly organized and have strong sense of integrity.I am passionate about helping others.I am very polite,but when I sense something wrong or people Cross the lines by not following the rules, I get taken for their advantage that result s in I get blamed for their wrongdoing, I get defensive and always speak up . Being an outspoken person has cost me a big price for that.. Any advice on how can I avoid such things in future... Thanks.
@Sjb20772 жыл бұрын
You don’t need advice. I am an ISTJ too and understand how you feel. Happy to work behind the scenes tirelessly without praise. The thought we have done a good job is more than enough and to be thanked for the work is embarrassing. Keep going and that belief you have in yourself will be justified one day in the future. We are the backbone of society, it’s our role and a precious one at that. Do try on the odd occasion to remind people of your work though, just to ensure they don’t take you for granted. One thing for sure we are not, is, shallow. Just genuine loving individuals

@@calmingbabysleep1256 I really try to understand her and she does the same were all each other have so we kind of just have gotten to the point that we laugh at each other. Alot. But sometimes she is like MOM get it together. Lol we still have alot of differences but she's my girl and were really honest with each other. I dont get offended if she's like yo. And she is trying to understand me a little but and growing acceptance. Bc I really try to keep a routine. It's just very hard, but I let her listen to these videos too why we laugh together. That helps Ha. Idk we just kinda wing it. Or I do.... but God have us each other for a reason and here we are making the best out of it. Learning and understanding. I have also learned to kinda back off amd respect if she doesnt want to talk about something and just shove down my feelings that I want to know so baaaaad. But she eventually tells me what's up sometimes. Eeeeeeven if it kills me inside to wait. Lol idk if that makes sense. But she'll forever be my little girl.

@@MINE27ify Thank you for sharing. I think that is sooo special. It sounds like you have a great relationship :) and I am sure you are an amazing mom!! I was curious because I am an infj and have many istj family members and I feel that it is much more difficult to have a "deep" relationship/ understand them than it is with other types. I admire them immensely though. That is why I was watching the video. I was raised by a single mom in my teenage years and I know it isn't always easy. I take my hat off to you. Thanks again for sharing!

@@calmingbabysleep1256 aw well thank you for ur encouraging words too.... I come across alot of infj commenting to things I post online. I love it. And yeah I just try to love everyone for their own unique special gifts. Imagine if the world was more like that. Alot of people think I'm crazy and dont get me but with my kiddo she doesnt really have a choice and the fact that i am all about getting to the depths of ppls souls perhaps her personality adapts to that and she doesnt hold on to the stereotype. Bc I will say this the one struggle we do have is with her being scared to try new things. I personally dont gey it and I push her sometimes or find myself being like ugh ur missing out on life. Just have fun while u still can. Then I come back to videos like this for a reminder and apologize to her. And remind her I love her just the way she is.

@@ashleyching7894 predictable fun can be anything. But you have to first make a plan and then stick to it and don't do last minute changes. Like going hiking and you know the pathway but someone in the group sees another path and suggests to walk this way instead is stressful because you don't know where it leads and maybe are not prepared for it (for example have not enough water or food, the wrong clothes etc, because the other path you actually planned to take doesn't require as much) so you are prepared for a event but not for a change where you don't have time to prepare for it beforehand.

So are we still going on with this synopsis of ISTJ = conservative, and therefore that's bad? Not every tom, dick & harry you see that's over 40 is an ISTJ.I understand you said not all, but some people could go down that path, but anyone who tries to use that as a valid excuse is throwing that label on everyone. I'm not going to get into the whole negative image of conservativism & patriotism since that this is not know the correct platform for it, we all know where the conversation will lead. However I will point out that it's stuff like this that makes people that are really ISTJs mistyped themselves as something like an INTJ.
