Finch doesn’t often get the chance to be really boss... but this, this is one of them. The pure distain/anger in his voice when he says “you gave my friend your word” is so perfectly done. Props to the writers and to the actor. Just a great scene!!

You will love Seasons 4 & 5 as Finch has some truly stellar moments of pure power moves. Even Elias says [to Finch] something like I don't think I want to be around when you lose your patience and even temperament.

@@jlc7300 Finch is NOT unlike his ASI, he runs through various scenarios in his head (though not as many as the Machine can and can do so with lightening quickness) before committing to a course of action. Finch is rarely impulsive. One such impulsive moment was when Finch basically kidnaps Baby Leila for whom some bad hombres were coming for her (and Finch thought...to kill her). The 2nd time was when Finch was also feeling nostalgic and thoughtlessly went to the same restaurant that he and Grace has frequented before the ferry bombing incident that caused Finch to hide (from Grace) under a presumption that he died in the bombing. This allowed Samaritan to identify Finch, negating whatever programming mask had given Finch stealth cover before this. Finch was tracked back to the subway and this exposed Team Machines hide out, Reese, Fusco, Shaw and Root all in one swoop. Getting back to the point at hand, Finch has considered all the various "plays" he has...as he does when he plays chess, and that's why he's so precise with his words and usually restrained with his actions. In Season 5, esp the latter parts, we see Finch unleashed as it were and it is significant.

He mentions the betrayal & murder of Ingraham. He could have taken it a step further and thrown the demise of Alicia Corwyn (Root shot her in the season 1 finale, but Corwyn was already fearing for her life.) at Special Counsel's feet. Finch is talking to the same man who sent several kill squads after an intelligence asset just before Corwyn was killed.... the one Finch set up with a new ID while Alicia Corwin watched from nearby. The only thing that bothers me about this scene... season 3 still lists Reese and Shaw as classified or presumed dead. Hersh walked out of this room alive... ...so wouldn't Control know Sameen Shaw was, in fact, alive?

If Hersh told her. He was told to cleanse the room. It isn't clean if he talks. Hersh had many secrets, and we are left to wonder just how many he took with him.

@@varianschirmer9375 He followed orders. Above all else, Hersh followed orders. When you are told to silence something, you remain silent. Not that Hersh lied....he just didn't tell her. Now, had she asked the right questions....who knows? But until then...orders are orders.

When was Corwin trapped? As I recall... we're talking about Ingraham's friend who gets in shotgun on Finch after stalking him for weeks. Root shoots Corwin from behind and takes Finch hostage. Hersh disposed of the Corwin evidence while Fusco was watching Baer.

I can't blame Shaw or Finch for not trusting Control. They killed Finch's friend Nathan after he gave them the Machine and they also killed Cole, Shaw's boyfriend. No one can blame either of them for not trusting Control.
