Apology but I disagree becoz if we research we will find that many successful people had education in India and are in high places and cracked high salaried packages.

I did my masters in London. Trust me. the university campuses abrod have very toxic environment. I definitely appreciate their curriculum. But the on campus culture is a total mess filled with alcohol, weed and sex. India should be very careful in setting up regulations for this universities. I have seen disgusting things that happened on my campus which I can't even discuss here. 😂 So please be careful and protect our kids from such things. Their education is fine. No complains. But code of conduct is must and should.

@@workoholicsn3699 have you been fuckin high while typing this message? Read my comment again. I was talking about the toxic events I witnessed during my stay. I also mentioned, I liked their curriculum. That was the main reason why I went there at the first place. And before going there I did my bachelors in architecture from private collage in Chennai which also has great curriculum and infrastructure. Don't think whole India looks like North. Our 5 states of South has fantastic universities where some of them even have ties with foreign universities. So shut the fuck up and take your prejudice some where else.

@@workoholicsn3699 yes brother. I agree. I myself belongs to OC (general quota) naidu. But that dosent mean we can insult our universities. We have decent education system with what ever funds we have. I am very confident they will become world class once economy gets strong. Even though I studied in british university the basic foundation for my profession was laid by my mother land. That is why I came back with in four years of my landing in UK. You can criticize our education system but dont insult it by talking high about foreign universities which has more funds stolen from around the world.

Pl. revoke the draft UGC guidelines. Let's oppose the move of the UGC to facilitate foreign universities and educational institutions to set up campuses in India allowing them autonomy in determining fees and recruitment of teachers after a 90-day approval process. This will lead to creating enclaves of high fees, elitist institutions which will further distort the structure of higher education in the country. The operational details of setting up such campuses provide that they can evolve their own admission process and criteria to admit domestic and foreign students. It will also have autonomy to decide its fee structure, and will face no caps that are imposed on Indian institutions. Foreign higher education institutions will also be allowed cross-border movement of funds and maintenance of Foreign Currency Accounts, mode of payments, remittance and repatriation. It is crystal clear that the educational policies of the government and the higher education authorities will undermine the sovereignty of the educational process. In the past, Indian corporates have been allowed to set up shops, granting them National Eminence status after which no further development has been reported in the public domain. Indian higher education sector is reeling in the aftermath of the New Education Policy and the overzealous pursuit of online education during Covid. All studies have revealed a sharp increase in the dropout rates in colleges and universities. Access, to higher education is under a grave threat for students who are at the receiving end of economic and social inequalities. The proposed move is not going to enable the country to address the current challenges that face higher education. Let's strongly urge that the UGC and the government rescind this draft proposal and initiate consultations with organizations of teachers, students and all those who are vitally concerned in the future of higher education. The UGC is also not statutorily entitled to unilaterally initiate moves without consulting the State governments. We appeal to all democratic and patriotic forces to act to make the UGC and the government to stop this unilateralism forthwith.

Do not allow foreign universities in india, we already have one JNU we don't want 1000 more JNU. These foreign universities will destroy Indian culture.

The truth: India today is the third strongest military power after Russia and the USA surely stronger than a Jewish backed China. Modi does surely not have a major contribution towards this. Indian media, academics, etc. is heavily foreign infiltrated; the main reason we have a substantially uneducated political leadership and also people with fake or substandard doctoral degrees are the so-called experts, to the delight of foreign nations. Let us be open but not go overboard. Many of these foreign universities in India will give Indians substandard degrees and use them later as a front. The approach: We have some genuinely world class institutes such as TIFR, Indian Institute of Science, NCBS, etc. The IITS are also good up to the Bachelor’s degree. Pour more resources into our indigenous institutes. Let the foreign universities arrive but they must be carefully watched and we should never drop our guard. Fortunately we have some great scientists with prolonged exposure to genuinely top-class global universities we must give them power. Otherwise we shall emerge as not a creative nation but a nation of technicians fueling the economies of the West.

@WORKOHOLIC SN East India Company coming again; this time it is not the British but some other people. All with even little brains know who these are. India needs to reform things from inside and Govt. must show guts to cut reservations and yet help the down trodden.

it can be a good decision in the field of science and technology but for humanities stream, it may be disastrous as it would open the door for west wokeness
