That's not how I do my videos? probably 19 times out of 20 I start in robot mode. Every now and then I do Vehicle mode first, just to do something new. But I start in robot mode because that's the more important mode.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the weird weapon storage Mindwipe has, where his bladed cannon becomes a tail(?). I found that you could smash the peg into the soft plastic of the bat head. This not only made a more cohesive back, but also made it look like the bat had a jetpack

You just brought back memories of when i was first learning to drive and relied on google screaming at me to find any place that i had never gone to, now it'll be stuck with me forever. But yeah Mindwipe I've had for a bit and it's slowly made it's way onto the "wow, I don't like this as much as I used to" list. Brainstorm I have the original Titans Return figure of, and the head is significantly better. When I was looking for the retro headmasters and found Brainstorm I remember seeing it, noticed the head, and felt uncomfortable with how the head looked and wondered why they did that with it.

Another friggin' hilarious skit, it reminded me how as a child I've always thought it would've been amusing if more beasformers had interacted with their animal heads in robot mode one way or another. Also, I'm surprised nobody has brought it up by the time I'm writing this comment, but I think Mindstorm's also supposed to have a waist swivel (at least that's how it was on my TR Blurr). A lot of people have shared pictures of their TR Mindwipe's legs/wings having shattered into a hundred pieces pretty much spontaneously over time. A flaw in the material apparently. AFAIK it's still unknown if the G1 style reissues are as susceptible to it as the other releases, but yeah I'm really careful with that one.

I have the original TR Brainstorm that I got at Walgreens when I first started collecting TFs again. He has the faceplate head, which makes him great. I passed on the Walmart Headmasters because I either had the TR molds or heard too many issues about the molds to pay more than TR prices for them. While a lot of people praised the WeirdWolf toy (WireWolf in TR), too many people complained about breakage for me to spend the money on it. And Mindwipe, well you pretty much summed it up.

The main reason why it took so long, is that I'm not really a fan of the Headmaster gimmick. But after some research on the Headmaster history, I slowly came along. -Also cool. You got that little Titans Return Terri-Bull dude. I got him too. Along with Crashdash and Fangry.

I've know about Yor for many years now, and it was fun to see him on Brandon's show. I'm glad you liked the callback. Actually, Mindwipe's weapon is exactly like a brute commander's weapon in Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare. Just give those cutscenes a watch since Blurr (animation studio, not the robot) put a lot of effort into it and no one really played the game.

The reason for Brainstorm having a human face this time around is because in Japan, people were big fans of Richard Simmons in the 80s so all Richard Pryor films were marketed as Richard Simmons films. This caused more human expression style faces in transformers do mainly to Richard Pryors movie called the TOY. That is what they were trying to emulate I think.

I think they gave the retro headmasters the Takara Legends heads because they wanted to give the Hasbro-only audiences something different from what they got in Titans Return. I don't mind the overall sculpt of Brainstorm's face. I just wish they painted his face orange instead of that pale yellow colour. He looks kinda sickly.

It can be a deluxe, it's not big enough, or good enough, or has enough accessories, or transforms well enough, or as a good enough altmode. I agree size no longer matters in the age of transformers we are in they are now all price points. Like Shockwave a leader, cliffjumper and bumblebee a deluxe, Hot Rod a voyager. It's been since Siege I am amazed when ppl still bitch about size class at this point. Even hasbro came out and explained they are going for robot mode scale because its something they never really did before. I honestly appreciate it and enjoy having them in scale. Now to pipes he is the right scale he needs to be, he is a minibot, he is supposed to be small. The characters bland look is technically correct. The transformation being a recolor of huffer is correct. That's who he has always been, he is a cheap and easy character hasbro gets to make out of the huffer mold. At least they did a better remake than combiner wars huffer and pipes which was legends...and shit for the characters, recolor head swaps of a legends optimus prime. I'm not gonna hate on them simply because they get to do a simple remold slight retool for a new character that ppl was wanting. I was way more irritated over combiner wars huffer and pipes and they was cheaper.

To note it: Mindwipe sadly has breaking problems in the transformation hinges. Which has been a carry-over on the mold even now. I'm not too sure if the crossover Dracula version has haf any breaking problems, but the actual TR version and this retro version have the problems.

So that other accessory Mindwipe comes with can be used as claws you mount on the arm, but Hasbro should have designed it so it could sit flush with the rest of the arm and not jut out awkwardly.

I have the TR brainstorm with the faceplate and the walmart re-release that has the face from season 4. I do like the faceplate better. So I like mindwipe ok but like the mold alot better on Draculus. And speaking for my collection, pipes looks great in it so no worries there mate. 😉 great review 👏 as always appreciate your perspective in the end!

My brother got the Draculus figure. It sucks! It's not a headmaster, so his robot head is stuck on the bats ass the whole time, expecting you to use the cape it comes with to hide it. It's lazy that they couldn't find a way to deal with it. Heck, it would have been better if it were a headmaster.
