I've had Kup about a week now, and am having none of the issues with him you've described. It is actually harder than expected to remove his limbs for my copy, and I've swivelled his joints a lot to test them and they're still fine. Strange.

@@PerspectiveEnd The figures I have, that seem to be really inconsistent in regards to tolerance and mould quality, are Combiner Wars Powerglide, and WFC Kingdom Warpath. I've seen reviewers on here owning good moulds, and managing to transform them with no problems, but my Powerglide keeps dropping parts, and Warpath won't even clip together properly in vehicle mode. Luck of the draw, I guess!

I only have Jazz and Kup in my possession at the moment. Between them, I find it really hard to decide who is better. The reason is both of them have minimal qc problems (Jazz's knees stay tabbed, windshield hasn't cracked and Kup's limbs are very tight and stay together well.) Jazz's overall robot sculpt barely wins it for me, but the play value in Kup is extraordinary (his light-piped eyes, detachable limbs, and Energon treat canister) so that is a tie. I made a lego grappling hook for Jazz, but that is cheating since Jazz did not come with it. Both Kup and Jazz have really cool and enjoyable transformations (for me anyway). Jazz's Porsche mode is pretty cool, I personally think ToyHax labels help it a lot, but that is, again, cheating. I prefer Kup's truck mode over Jazz's alt mode without stickers, but I now prefer Jazz with toyhax over Kup. Jazz is more of a figure I keep in one mode and occasionally transform him to the other, and Kup is a figure I transform back and forth nonstop. So, I honestly it's cutting it close, but I'd say Kup is my preferred figure at the moment mainly because I got him recently.

As someone who cares not for light piping, and who's limbs in robot mode constantly fall off, I find my self not liking Kup, like I do Jazz. And man I can't understand how you can flip back and Forth on Kup. Kup I find to be a miserable transformation, but Jazz is tons of fun to me.

I have ordered a Grimlock off of amazon since they seem to have gotten all of the stock in Australia. I also ordered the wave 2 kingdom deluxe that I need and I somehow was able to get a pre-order on the Takara Tomy Soundblaster, a figure I went to pre-order back in august of last year and missed the date by 1 day, so glad I was finally able to get an order in.

So I ended up getting Jazz, Blurr, and Kingdom Rattrap the other day, after purchasing an Earthrise Snapdragon made me want figures again. Jazz has one little crack in one window from my first time transforming it, but I didn’t know what I was doing and was trying to force the vehicle together so my fault, and Blurr’s kibble sleeves are floppy but manageable. His transformation is also kind of a fiddle affair, like a not fun Triggerhappy. But it was also the first time and I didn’t know how it worked yet so. All that being said, I really like all three figures. They all come alive in their posing and I found them to synergize really well as a unit for group photos, even with one Maximal. I was able to achieve the tower of power: Jazz sitting on Blurr’s shoulders with Rattrap sitting on Jazz’s hood chest. A very fun trio that make for a fun setup for my current very small display along with Snapdragon, who also oddly fits despite being a Decepticon. Quite happy with the lot despite some issues.

Yay another whats the best. I tend to disagree with you on some figures but this time I have only one disagreement. I am less happy with Skurge than I am with Hotrod. But I am a lover of the transformation and Hot Rod has a super unique and fun transformation. :) I am also a litttle pissed at the Grimlok transformation. Good job Hasbro you managed to compleatly recreate one of the least complicated transformations. I was really hoping for a more unique Grimlok experience. So Jazz would take the top spot in my opinion. For being a really good figure with a really good transformation. :) I finally got Hot Rod and Skurge so look for them in the future on my channel. Blindformers will keep going strong and getting better.

I mean I like transformations too, but Hotrod looses not on transformation, but on his cost, and his messed up back, plus I didn't mention it but his proportions are more squat than they should be. Anyways, I'm glad they didn't Reinvent the Wheel just to Reinvent the Wheel with Grimlock, yes, it's simple, but making stuff more complex just to make it more complex doesn't mean better, and I mean what could they have even changed. The point of the line is to look the most accurate, adding unneeded complexity will only hamper that. I love that Jazz, he's exactly what I wanted. You keep at it man, I went to college for this... well something that had me take a shocking number of classes applicable to this, and I'm still finding ways to make it better. You too grow with each video.

My ranking (from strongest to weakest, as I don't hate any of these figures): Grimlock (The strongest, except for Wheelie, he sucks) Scourge (Shellforming done right) Hot Rod (My only complaint is that they sold it as a Voyager instead of a Deluxe, also I'm not getting Kingdom Rodimus Prime) Jazz (The best of the Studio Series 86 Deluxe figures so far) Blurr (If his face and arm kibble were better, he would be higher in my ranking) Kup (The weakest and my least favorite character from the 86 movie)

Complaining about the back of a mainline figure 😂 man what about scourge?? His wings do not look like what they do in the show... 86 hotrod is also the only hotrod to have a properly proportioned chest, which I would take all day over an accurate back. Personal preference aside I don’t see what your bias is towards hotrod, I understand he’s an expensive deluxe but I think he performs better than 90% of the deluxes we have gotten, looks more accurate than the actual masterpiece, and a lot of people like the included accessories. I’m not one to go all out for hasbro, but I would hate for them to look at videos like this and use them to change their figures. Because I’d much rather get a $30 hotrod that perform as well as 86 does than another Titans return’s mess of a figure.

I did point them out and said thewere were a less than perfect angle not a bad one, they don't look exactly like they are supposed to, but they do look a good bit like them. I can not give half a crap about the EXACT proportions of Hotrods chest. I disagree that he looks more accurate than the Master Piece, the Masterpiece I find to be way more accurate. People can like the accessories all they want, they aren't even worth 2 dollars, let alone another 10. I actually quite like the Titans Return figure, it was a different take on him. Hotrod got fourth out of 6 which isn't bad when you consider a big mark against him is he's gouging us. If Hasbro saw this video they wouldn't do anything. I never said the figure was bad, I in fact said it was quite good, just that it had issues keeping it from being the best in the line.

Shame I can't get a scourge anywhere due to scalpers to be able to upgrade off of my old titans return scourge. I hate that thing honestly. Besides that, I'm still trying to find someone who would mention that ss 86 blurr's plastic looks and feels the same quality as 3d plastic. Mine just feels so brittle and I got it to upgrade off of TR blurr but now I think I'll just stick with TR blurr. Also who thought it was a good idea to have his wrist articulation tied down to his vehicle kibble as well?

Interesting. I don't think Blurrs plastic looks 3D printed, but there are places where it does feel brittle none the less. Sorry you can't find a Scourge.

If it's any consolation I didn't know until I watched this video in February of 2023 that kup was based on the word pickup. It kind of makes me like him as a character less. But I definitely like the figure more than you do, and I actually kind of like the greater degree of difficulty in the transformation. Anyway, cool list, and yeah, someone would have to be off their rocker to not put grimlock as the best from this wave. It's just so much better than any of the others.

For me the best is Hot Rod, but it's a 100% subjective opinion on my part. I just like the way he transforms and every other figure has some personal nitpick that puts me off. P.S. I'm not sure if you just got a bad one or if I just got a good one but my Kup hasn't had any trouble staying together. Just food for thought.

I'm glad to hear that other peoples Kups don't have mines issues, but I can only evaluate the figures I have, so mine is a nightmare of falling to bits, and that's what effects the rankings.

grimlocks my favorite tf of all time and theres not a close second but his ss86 toy is crap. robot mode has no articulated hands and very visible forearm gap. they could have just eliminated wheelie to fix those problems but no they had to include a character no one cares about. Then we have the t rex mode with the missing front teeth,overgrown butt, visible screw holes all over the head and no tail articulation. I dont know why hastak keeps screwing up their grimlock. Their g1 grimlock sucked. mp sucked. foc grimlock sucked and now this. hot rod wins this hands down.

I've bought about 35 war for Cybertron figures and the only QC issue I've had is with cyclonus,his hips are super loose and he'll bend right over by itself if it's not standing straight up and the last/smallest section of the ship has a lot of slack and wiggles up and down.

Why did you hold the back for hotrod against him yet scrouges are given a pass, both have backs that are more approximations of the show model rather then actually accurate, with scourge having the silohette and thats it, and hotrod just has the backpack wing fin, I get not saying it about the others since either they are accurate or their blurr

It's the back of the legs being the entire wrong color, the butt being as bad as scourges, the wrist flaps, and the thong his fin is riding on showing the glass through it. I'd say scourges only real issue is his butt, and even then it's kind of deep in there, making the Angle Narrow. And the back isn't the only thing holding the Hotrod back, from the title Micro Masterpiece.

I think the red figures are made of some type of soft plastic or vinyl. So that could explain the poor quality. But the question is why are they made of that?

I passed up the opportunity to get a netflix Cheetor once. Doesn't mean I wont find my self in a moment of Weakness and end up picking up one anyway. As for Fanstoys, no I hate Fanstoys. Something about all their designs are Incredibly uncanny to me, and what with them being famous for bad Transformations and weak articulation, plus their incredible price. Color me uninterested. I have one. Might get one other, but the one I have doesn't Impress.

Honestly I think jazz is great out of box but I love the look of the toy hax is amazing in vehicle mode. It’s also my favorite car cause he’s my favorite character. But I just needed the stickers because he doesn’t have paint on top of the back wheel wells. Wheel wells? I don’t know car parts, fenders? Jazz and grimlock are 2 of my favorite figures this year tbh and grimlock being one of my favorite figures period

The simple answer is I don't mean it in the same way. Dollar value is obviously going to get you more, but when the two figures are of the same character spotting the differences can be important, especially when it wouldn't have been expensive to make some areas like the Masterpeice.

Of the five non kingdom 86 figures (slag wreck gar jazz gnaw and blurr) gnaw is definitely the best jazz is second place wreck gar is third slag is fourth and blurr is fifth but if you count cyclonus and galvatron in my ranking cyclonus is the bestest gnaw the second best then galvatron jazz wreck gar slag blurr

I have to tell you this, I have a Semi Fix for Kups Limbs... I used it on my POTP Tailgate because the Ball joints on the Arm were So loose I couldn't even take a Step without them Falling, Get a Piece of Paper, Rip a Piece off, Take off the Joint (or in Kups case the Peg), and Shove Paper in there... But do it in a Way to where It'll Wrap around the Joint/Peg instead of being Under it, and it makes it way Better, I've Tried this with many Loose Ball Joints and Weapons, and it works.

The others were dumb Headmasters or had the wrong alt mode. Plus he's the only SS86 fig I have right now and I love it

All the deluxes are okay, but bland. Blurr is definitely the worst, I always hated the Titans Return mold. Hot Rod and Scourge are great, except for Hot Rod being overpriced because of all the accessories. Wheelie will just go in a bag of weapons, but Grimlock seems great. Grimlock’ll look nice next to the rest of the Dinobots.

On Cyclonus I stuffed some 5mm neodymium magnets in his foot ports. They are strong enough for him to stand completely inverted under a metal shelf (much fun!).

86 is generally mid like besides Blurr i cant think of one thats inherently bad but i just dont think theyre all that good either. Except Grimlock lol. And i HATE G1 Grimlocks design but it just is an absolute amazing gem of a figure. Everything else tho isn't really standout, more like just good but not really pushing the standard. Doesn't help that besides Hot Rod, Grimlock and Jazz, I dont care for any of the 86 movie characters lol
