I’ve owned this same watch for about a month and love it. Love the look and the quality of the case, dial and movement are all top shelf. Very nice to access the test results of your individual watch via the Omega website. You hit on the very few drawbacks and which are not near a deal breaker for me personally. In hindsight and this is a personal preference, I at times, wish I’d opted for the dial with the more bold silver “Seamaster” inscription (220.10.41.21.03.002). The blue shown in this video is very subtle and difficult to read. Trivial perhaps, but something to consider. I highly recommend the Aqua Terra either as your one watch or as an addition.
@PerthWAtch3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing those thoughts! Yeah I did look closely at the 002 model and the differences, which as you pointed out are rather subtle. In the end I don't mind either, and the fact that this one is the "001" is good enough to sway me :)

I owned the older version with vertical lines, Blue dial. Loved it but Sold it to get the new Seamaster Pro 300m. I just sold the Seamaster to buy this. Crazy. The Shade of blue on the AT is so much more beautiful than the Seamaster and it’s much more versatile to wear in more situations. Great review. Thanks&Cheers!

@geronimo8252 жыл бұрын
I’ve just bought the very same watch after 6 weeks of deliberation. I originally wanted an oyster perpetual but tried this on and fell in love with it. I couldn’t get it out of my head but I was also taken by a Grand Seiko. The blue dial Aquaterra just had too much of what I love though and so I bought it. I can’t get this watch to stay in the box, I just have to stare at it; it has so much going on while still being able to look conservative. Of course there’s also the movement which just screams quality! When I put it on it just makes me feel amazing in myself. It’s better than a Rolex perpetual in every way apart from its sell on value (I’m never selling it anyway). The grand seiko has an even more accurate time keeping and if buy one of those too. The Finish on the GS is ludicrously good but there’s nothing I don’t love about my Omega.
@PerthWAtch2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations mate! The current Master Chronometer movements are, I think, the best 3 hand movements in the world. GS is more accurate because it uses quartz regulation but otherwise the resistance testing of the Omega blows everything else away. If you are in position to grab an OP of your choosing, then I envy you. I wish I could do that but the local dealers just won’t sell to me. As you say, it is technically an inferior watch but it is Rolex and a purchase is a no brainer when you can sell for profit if you truly don’t like it.

It’s a great watch. I’ve tried on the green, blue and white dials which all have their own character. I’d also prefer the arrow on the hour hand. The blue is pretty but my pick is the white as it’s such a fun watch. I wouldn’t bother comparing it with a Datejust as that’s such a conservative design compared.

I am having an Omega one of these days, but not yet. Fabulous movement, great case and bracelet. Dial isn't great and that minute hand would really annoy me. Great review, subscribed! I own both a green dial AT and a bond SMP300 (the best iteration imo 🙂) I think maybe one of the reasons it's priced above tne 300m is because it used the 8900 movement in the PO perhaps? Although the 39mm PO ad 38mm AT use the 8800 calibre and they aren't any cheaper...
@PerthWAtch3 жыл бұрын
Interesting thought but as you say, that doesn’t account for the pricing difference
@PerthWAtchАй бұрын
You make a good point there, but I think it’s still a bit more random than that. For example, there are all steel (no ceramic bezel or Liquid Metal) Constellation models using the 8800 movement that retail higher than this Aqua Terra. It seems to me that in general, the more “formal” or fancy a model is, the higher the price, regardless of the actual material or specs 🤷🏻♂️

I recently saw all three at the Omega Boutique in Sydney. I certainly don't like the polished centre links on the Aqua Terra. Jody on JOMW had them buffed to a satin finish (once stuffed up and then corrected) on his personal AT. I wish Omega would offer a choice of bracelets (polished cenfrelinksa and satinised). The Rail Master denim dial looks a bit odd but the patina Ted dial version is a killer. .

You should have chosen the 38mm version, this one is too big on your wrist... great review otherwise...

Thanks for sharing your view. 38mm is too small - this one fits 100% perfect on my wrist :)

Wide angle cameras often used in KZbin videos generally make watches look at least 20% bigger than it really is on the wrist in close ups. Just take a photo of the same watch on a wrist with a 28mm vs a 50mm lens and you'll see the difference.

100% agree, I don’t need to take photos with different focal lengths to know that. What is not certain is what I might do with this “info”.
