You definitely made the right choice of where to go to eat, so many tourists just go to high end restaurants where they serve you, not only a fraction, but modified versions of what everyday people eat. If you want to really taste how awesome the food is on any place just go to the local market and eat what you see local people are eating.

Ok, ok, some people here are saying Chrimoya is found in other countries as well, and it is,but it's origin traces it back to Peru, the name is even Incan. So although it's found in other parts of the world, it is originally from Peru and Das it :P
@WR3ND6 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of fruits and such from parts of the "new world," even common things like chili peppers, beans, and tomatoes. It's been at least half a millennia since food was taken or traded, so now some cultures think these plants originated elsewhere where they're from. Some people have a weird, misplaced sense of pride like that.
@EVNL5766 жыл бұрын
It’s easy to know if Chirimoya is found in other countries, try to grow them. If left alone it won’t survive like my Pakai three from Peru that I loved so much and brought it to the states but fruit won’t grow. Chirimoya in Peru grows without any care. 😬🤫

Chirimoya is a Quechua Word. You can find chirimoya fruits painted in murals and modeled in Pottery of our ancient cultures as the Mochicas. No other country has that. So, the next time you hear some not peruvian people telling that chirimoya is theirs be sure that they are big liers.

Beautiful soup! It looks similar to how we make it at home. Even adding some vinegar and citrus at the end. I wouldn't be able to eat those really spicy chillis, though my husband would love them! Cherimoya also grow across in South America, my friend lives in Ecuador and adores them. I really hope to be able to try one some day, apparently they are something quite special to taste! Pitaya is Dragon Fruit, but the one which is much more common is the pink skinned variety. The yellow skinned variety again also grows in South America, another fruit my friend in Ecuador raves about. You can use it as part of a marinade for pork, or in a dressing for salad.

The range of fruit available is really impressive. I'd love it Peru as fruit and vegetables are what I'd choose to eat out of anything. I remember as a child we had a house for a few years that had all sorts of fruit trees, passionfruit vines and a massive vegetable garden but I never appreciated it and now I'd give anything to have the food garden we used to have. I'm too sick to get out of bed most of the time never mind having my own garden. The things we don't appreciate when we are kids.

as a peruvian my best advise when u go to Peru and want FRESH FOOD just go to a Mercado o local markets, people make dishes everyday and always different early morning to have some for breakfast and the lunch at midday as they sale everything before 3pm, restaurants usually keep left over from a day before and hotels are the same with so many ingredients from cans or already coming from pre cook wharehouses.
