Notice he mentioned the flavor of the chicken is more chickeny? That's because they are real chickens and not the frankenbirds we have at most markets in the U.S. Chickens are not supposed to grow up in 6 to 8 weeks, pumped full of steroids and antibiotics, so heavy they can barley walk. Those who have ever had home grown chicken know what I mean, there is no comparison. It's like the difference between fresh fish caught that day and something that has been in the freezer for 3 months.

Yeah, industrial farmed chickens aren't allowed to move, so their meat is tender but relatively tasteless. Chickens allowed to run around are the opposite, tastier but maybe tougher.

Exactly! We buy free range chickens from a local farm, and I'm telling you, from the meat to the broth we make out of it, it's like day and night comparing to the chicken bought from a supermarket.

FFS. No chicken in the US is given steroids or hormones. It's against the law. Further, All meat, poultry and dairy foods sold in the U.S. are free of antibiotic residues, as required by federal law. The difference in flavor is mainly due to differences in feed, breeding and age. Google is your friend.

When he called olives aceitunas I had to do a double take because in Arabic we call it zaytun. Thought I was going crazy. It's amazing how the some languages are so well connected.

For a time the Moor people from Northern Africa were in Spain, so I think there is a slight influence.

Syed Abood there are hundreds of words in Spanish that are derived form Arabic, remember that Spain was occupied by the mores for over 700 years,... Almohada (pillow), aceituna (olives), anticuchos (kabob), etc

It's because Alvaro is Peruvian, so he's used to eat delicious food everyday, and probably he knows well those places, that's the reason why he took Mike at those sites. I, for instance, am Peruvian but haven't gone to those places, there's a huge variety of dishes in Peru that even as a local there are lots left for trying.
