Even though I know I can't be the only one I always feel... surprised? to hear other people are also living anxiously 24/7 and imagining the worst will happen. My anxiety is pretty bad right now my mind won't shut up long enough to let me read.

I don’t know how you feel about meds but I just recently started seeing a psychiatrist and a therapist and it’s helping a lot, The doctor put me on some meds and they’re helping a lot, I’m luck enough to be married to someone in the field and have a lot that’s going well, but that aside my wife does an exercise with me where we think about the worst possible outcome of a situation and then weigh the possibility of it happening, believe it or not this helps because it lets you see how ridiculous your mind can be, I wish you the best and hopefully my experience has helped

I had to laugh at your explanation for why you don’t typically read or watch scary stuff bc SAME. My friends like to tease me for refusing to ever watch Thrillers/Horror. They’re like “its just a movie! It’s fake! It’s just a fun adrenaline rush” and I’m like dude I get adrenaline rushes when I have to send a big email or have a big phone call sooooo ya girl would like to keep her heart rate a tad lower thank you very much

I KNOW!!!! hearing the ring of phone, open e-mails, answering the door, waiting the response of a text message because first 10 minute is enough to convince you to believe that you wrote something stupid or not funny. Life is hard enough without waiting for a long haired girl to come after you in seven days because you couldnt help watching that damn tape. I look like a dead girl from a pit everytime i took a shower anyway

The footnotes were definitely something I had to get used to while I read Nevernight for the first time. I’m glad you are enjoying it!! It was one of my favorite reads of 2019 and the second book is even better
@saathvika40365 жыл бұрын
Nevernight is amazing! Push through the footnotes, trust me. You need to hit the 100 page mark, the story picks up from there and the footnotes-well, they do reduce but they also get really funny. Jay Kristoff is a very interesting author and he is very engaging as it is. You will get obsessed with the story, trust me. I struggled with the footnotes initially too, but as the story progressed, I did find them more entertaining. As a side note, you can actually skip reading them , as it does not add much to the current plot, it is just a bit of trivia on the world. Jay had once joked about it and said its lazy world building. He is genuinely funny.
@kttyk9265 жыл бұрын
I love Nevernight and the rest of the series! Jay Kristoff is an amazing author. Sorry you were struggling with the footnotes. I loved them--great sarcasm and cynicism commentary on what's happening. :D The series gets better! Godsgrave and Darkdawn will draw you in then destroy you, but in the best way possible. Enjoy!!!!

I love audiobooks! I always listen to them at around 1.25 speed (depending on the narrator) because, you're right - it can be so much slower than reading. Listening to audiobooks on my drive to work, or when I'm cooking and cleaning, is 100% the reason I made my GR goal for 2019.

I am currently reading let it snow. I never made the connection it’s the same author for the entire video. A few days ago I finished the short story in it written by Maureen Johnson and it was just pure fluffy goodness and made me genuinely laugh and now I feel an overwhelming NEED to start the truly devious series, because that let it snow story was seriously 5 stars for me.
