Brother in your opinion. At 50-60 yards using Hollow Point pellets in .22 and .25 like H&N Barracuda Hunters...which do you believe to give better expansion and more energy on game at 900-940 FPS? This is my most common pesting distance and when I use the .22 I swear it sounds like a Fire work going off but not so much with the .25. Yes...they are both dead on the spot without question and are just God Smacked straight down most of the time but the damage from the .22 always seems so much greater. In my mind the .22 hits and delivers more of its punch than the .25 just not as much wind resistance. What are your thoughts if you don’t mind and have the time to share your experience between these two amazing pellets.
@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын
Bud, first of all let me say I'm not a fan of H&N. They use too much antimony in their alloy, thus making the pellets too hard and more difficult to "fit" in the barrel rifling. In all my experience all the guns I've had so far preferred JSB, but it depends on the gun and barrel. That being said, a soft hollow point should transfer its energy at the afore-mentioned distances in both calibers. Mind you I'm not talking about nonsense such as the much advertised Hades pellets, which in .25 are nothing more than a big misunderstanding IMO, you can watch my video on testing them. I personally prefer .25 because IMO it's the most versatile caliber, like a golden middle ground. A well placed shot will do the job on a small bird, as well as on a medium game, or pigeons at long distance, delivering an adequate amount of energy and bucking the wind better. Please be advised that all this is relative, because with today's pcp adjustability and capability, I have friends with .22 cal guns shooting 25 grain pellets faster than my Lelya shoots 25 grains in .25 cal 😉

@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын

@AirRifleActivities4 жыл бұрын

Yes - get a ballistic calculator, enter your correct data and make a card or use the readings on your mobile device. With time you'll get used to shooting at an angle at certain distances and you won't even have to look at it. @@ranieribarsali4636 I understand the problem. If there's a pressure gauge on the bottle or on the charging station, check what is the indicated pressure on it - the manometers on the guns are less accurate. Also, what was your gun? Was it a Gamo Chacal/Urban? One of the seals may be leaking. Is it losing air over time? You may have damaged an o-ring when installing the reg. Remove the air cylinder again and try to find a leak on it. Better disassemble and replace the o-rings just to be on the safe side. It's hard to answer your question from a distance, that's why I'm giving you several suggestions. The reg is installed in the tube towards the action, so it shouldn't affect the unregulated pressure.

I don't know if you're American, but I've heard US military use meters too. So I thought American and British shooters knew meters. Plus it's close to a yard, and for airgunning distances the difference between the two is not so big. So... 😉

The shots you make against the walls of the container make too much noise, that indicates that the diabolo is passing through the pigeon with great force. I BELIEVE that if you use a JSB Hades for
@AirRifleActivities3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your advise 👍 I have a video testing the Hades .25, and to say I wasn't impressed by those pellets would be putting it lightly. My tests showed they don't even expand as much as expected. Plus I need a pellet that performs well at both long and short distances. The Hades do not.

People who can't understand the need for pest control at large commercial grain facilities like this, [and even MORE SO at a private farmer's silos/barns, etc, where the loss comes out of HIS pocket and not from some corporate "sileage level logbook"] , should watch the shot/impact at 3:55, and see the ACTUAL amount of grain that erupts from just ONE bird's crop. Then multiply that by the # of sky-rats and THE NUMBER OF DAYS that they are free to stuff themselves from the grain stores, and it may help a few to understand....and that's not even mentioning the parasites and bacteria spread through the stores by their droppings and preening. (I'm a teacher, for some weird reason I always want to help people understand REALITY!, NOT what they PERCEIVE or what they FEEL...but what IS... smh at myself). The ones that can't? Well, there's no hope for some people... Thanks for sharing, as always, Alex.
