Could someone give more details of the snail farm/prison?

It's a plastic laundry basket, the kind with rows and rows of narrow rectangular holes (a adult slug can't go through), surrounded by water so the small ones cant escape.. then some shards of pottery for the slugs to hide under and a little bowl of water for them to drink. Then it's just feeding them and spraying it with a hose every 2-4 weeks to collect the droppings.
