Not squirrels in your attic! RATS in your loft?

Great videos with lots of enthusiasm, i'd never heard of the rat flaps but what a good idea, I've lived in my place for twenty five years and luckily only had two rats (which i caught, i could hear them running about) in the loft but we live next to a railway line and often get issues around the wheelie bins which all have holes eaten through them, i had a Jack Russel for thirteen years and he saw off quite a few too.

My neighbour directly attached to my house was saying for 12 months that there's no rats in her attic but two days ago she admitted they were up in her attic but she thinks they're gone. Which isn't true. The biggest problem with her attic is it's absolutely packed with all kinds of clothes , toys etc. I don't have anything stored in my attic.

5:39 when rentoki , the pipe surveyor and Irish water lifted a manhole cover in front of my neighbours house which also has pipes going to my house DND my neighbours house had debris like that in there. But they still said there's no problem. When they done a pipe survey they didn't put the camera up towards my house despite the fact I asked them to do so and they didn't put the camera up towards my neighbours house where his footpath has kind of colapsed even though I asked them to do so. They had no interest in surveying all the pipes. They just done a few pipes that didn't really make any difference. Rentokill suggested that they would have needed to install at least five rat flaps around the area because they think they saw debris from broken pipes under manhole covers around here. But they didn't do any camera survey.

@@Steve30x that’s because the water authorities are money making machines and don’t care about their customers “not my job mate” attitude. As for rentokil, they obviously ain’t got a clue about how and where to fit the flaps. Get a private company in to survey at least you and your neighbours pipes.

So you say don't fix the 'holes' before the rats are out. What's you MO there? Put traps etc when you fitted the flaps or just wait x time till they are 'gone'. But you can't be sure of that? Feedback appreciated.

My neighbour said she doesn't hear the rats in her attic so I told her they're running along on top of the insulation and I saw a rat running towards her attic twice last Sunday night and Monday morning. I sent her two videos from one of the cameras in my attic with a rat running on the insulation and towards the wall separating our attics which I think they're coming from. Also the path going from my neighbours driveway into his house has collapsed and I reckon that's where the rats have borrowed going into his attic. He's also saying he doesn't hear rats in his house. But two if my other neighbours can hear rats in their walks but they don't care.
