Brilliant!!!! You had touched so many aspects including the not much spoken 1971 Shimla accord blunder!!!! Most importantly your speech about pride is extremely pertinent. I remember in 1990 I was in the USA for one year and during that stay at a nearby college there were some Indian students with whom I used to play soccer. There was one Afghan guy in this group. One of those days after a tiring session we were idly chatting about what these students plan to do after completing their studies. The Indians were all for staying there for at least a few years to settling down there forever. The Afghan guy was quietly standing at one corner listening to the others . I tunened to him and asked him what about you Ahmed. Remember that was the time that Afghanistan was a hell hole and the country was plagued with clan wars… He responded spontaneously that he will be heading back home. I was shocked and couldn’t help but react by blurting out “but Ahmed isn’t your country going thru a bloody civil war???!!! Again his response was simple and spontaneous, home is home Bhaskar… That’s when it hit me the Afghans are proud of their country and ancestors unlike the hapless Indians… Thanks Arun for the video I am planning to share this

@@70manian Thanks for kindling old memories.. In the late sixties I remember to have read an article on Ganga-Cauvery link project. In a weekly magazine called "The illustrated weekly of India".. The cost of the project in those days worked out to be 1500 crs..... But no one,,, either the politicians or the executives had the courage of conviction and also long vision to foresee the.benefits of this project accruing in the long time to come... It is regretable that we didn't have a visionary like Modi in those day's.. Has he not been in Gujarat as CM I think the dam across Narmadha River would not have come up with people like Medha Patkar delaying the execution of the project by decades. Talking about TN....I ,hope the voters come out of mesh of 1)caste,creed race, religion while voting 2) DISCARD/IGNORE these third rate film heros,( inthe films' they may have been heroes but in politics a big ZEROS). 3) Since 70s the d.stock parties have been focussing on promoting consumption of liquor among the. people with goons in the parties owning Distilleries....... 4) the d.stock parties have done many things to damage our culture which must be restored..... 5) with Thiru.Annamalai in the horizon there is a ray of hope... 6) with or in spite of liquor culture prevalent in the state,the pre- poll opinions show that the present ruling party is likely to get 21 seats with its alliance getting 9 seats . If this is true then how the state , with poorest law and order, will improve ?.
