Ryan Kotzin Hi Ryan - how did you end up with this precious little squirrel? I mean, where'd you get it; petstore, abandoned by it's mother, saved it somehow? I'm curious, because I've had "rodent" fur babies, but not one of these lil guys...and I've wanted one for a long time. I've heard that they're really smart and affectionate. 😊

+Jack Frost Okay so I'm just going to say here is my reaction to this story...the Emojis : 😐???😒😒
@RoadToHeritage7 жыл бұрын
Zann Zepar They are very smart and affectionate.. but till a certain age.. they don't stay friendly like how you see in this clip. I found this guy when he was a baby.. bottle fed him and basically fell in love with a squirrel.. Let him free and he came home to visit almost everyday for 4 years.. Then one day he stopped.. Since I've been certified by California Wildlife and have rehabilitated over 60 squirrels. I wouldn't recommend them as a pet.. It was emotional when I would not see him for weeks and then one day he'd jump into my room from my window. It was like every time I didn't see him I thought the worst. I'd mourn for him and then a week later see him and just be so happy to see him... An emotional rollercoaster. You can get attached to these little guys.. they are like puppies and cats in one.. They play like puppies but live like cats.. Very independent.

I'm lost, because you said you went and got a beer later??? But I thought you were referring to when you was a child lost in a storm and kangaroo did that. I know animals do suprising affectionate things to save people or other animals So if true, please explain clearer😊

I love squirrels. I've had them knock on my door, lokking for food. I had one that sat on second floor porch every morning and wait for to feed her. I could never walk past her if she was in a tree that she wouldn't chase me and chatter at me. They are a lot smarter then people think.

crackedcookies there was a very fat squirrel in my grandparents garden. in the winter it would waddle from the tree to the bird feeder sit there a while stuffing it's cute little face then waddle very slowly back to the tree. it was so chubby it could barely climb the smoothish trunk and it fell off more than once, this went on for about a month then my grandparents newly adopted ferral cat gobbled him/her up right in front of the window and left the tail on the chair by the kitchen door. my uncle couldn't stop laughing.

i had the amazing joy several years ago of fostering 2 orphaned baby squirrels. I got them at 3 weeks old and kept them till they were about 12 weeks. The Natural Resources people told me to release them in the children's play park as there were lots of pine trees there as well as treats left from the kids. When i took them to the park on release day, I sat down at a picnic table and opened their cage and they crawled up onto my shoulders are refused to leave HAHAHA!! I sat there for almost an hour attracting many many kids and parents lmao until the little guys were ready to scoot down and run off on their own into the trees. It was awesome!

Ha, ha, ha! Touche! Very good one. You are forgiven. I take back my nasties. As it happens, I am indeed an animal 'whisperer' (ridiculous title) and have rescued and rehabbed everything from boa constrictors, to eagles, mice, squirrels, cats, dogs, foxes, and much more. I read animal language very clearly and they are putting out so many body signals and vocals that humans totally ignore or do not pick up. I can rell right away if an animal is irritated or not. And this little guy is indeed annoyed at the slightly rough handling. Could be better and then you would see that squirrel respond in a more positive way.

I like how this is one of those rare animals that can be raised domestically yet rapidly adapt to the wild. My friend had one, as well as a screenless, open window regularly. It was like a total pet until its nads dropped, at which time it quickly became prone to peeing at you and getting destructive. But this is when it started looking at other squirrels through the window. Over the course of 3 weeks it became unclear which one was the hand-raised squirrel to anyone but her. It lost interest in taking food directly from her hands (of course they all like treats left out) and was not getting picked on or having any hard time socializing or foraging etc.
@shaylachevon51167 жыл бұрын
nads dropped lol. Yes it's weird how they change but really it's time to go when they get independent. Who wants a full grown squirrel inside messing anywhere? They are funny how they are so easily human dependent them so easily adjust to outside

In other words I respect life and don't take life unless it's in self defense and I protect it when I can. I'm not such an arrogant, self centered ass who feels the only important life is mine.. He knows that if he bites you, you will kill him, so he pretend to enjoy your grope.

+Elizabeth Kaufmann squirrels can get very aggressive if they aren't happy and that's why they're wild animals and not Pets. I can assure you and everyone that this little squirrel loved me and my hands. I have tons of other videos check them out if you don't believe me.

CUTESVILLE! When you stop petting the baby squirrel, the baby stays still for a sec and reaches out looking for your hand! Seems like what a professional masseur's hands is to a tired person with muscle aches your hand is to the baby squirrel!
