Some really cool ideas for burial. I always use a favorite beach towel and cardboard box.

I'm very "old school " as my son would say and not up to date with everything so I never knew of such a place existing . In the past I always made my own "caskets" for my cats and dogs from the beautiful pine trees on my land . I added one of my small blankets or a piece of clothing that my pet loved to sleep on of mine . My son painted stones as a marker for the pet also. This video is very nice none the less for those who don't have an option to make something .

Thank you for the tour. I found this very interesting, but disturbing. Too much plastic and waste when we should be thinking of not only sending our pets off for their eternal rest , but also the environment. A handmade wooden casket is more personal as well. Even the stones can me made with the loving hands and personal messages of the family . I know "to each their own" , but it's just a little cold to me. They look like small food coolers with ruffles. Very glad I watched the video though because I never would have known about such a place!

My first pet--a beloved cat--was buried in a casket similar to those...may have even been built there for all I know. She was placed in a nice plot in a pet cemetary that to this day, decades later, I pay a reasonable annual fee for maintenance. My subsequent pets were all cremated and are with me at home. I almost didn't want to watch this one because I was afraid it would make me feel sad...I have a senior pet now with health issues that I am extremely bonded with and I can't imagine him not being with me anymore one inevitable day in the future...but...you did really well with this sensitive topic, as did the business owner. You should visit a pet cemetary one day too. Amazing how elaborate some of the plots and markers are and also how very touching some of the tributes are too..... 😥

Like others have said why plastic/foam type stuff?? Would be so much better if they were made from wood or the cardboard that hospitals use. It can then be either buried or cremated. We don't need any more one use non destructible products. Another great video Jacob!!

I have a place you should visit, because it would so cool. Pierceton Indiana, a Shop called Townsends. They sell reproduction clothing, housewares, etc- from the 18th century. They have a youtube channel called Townsends. And its right in your backyard.

Idk. I've always wanted to own a casket to put in an empty room in my house. Nothing in that room but a casket right in the middle. Put a big sign on the door that says "DO NOT ENTER" and keep it closed. When my friends ask about it, just say I cant talk about it. Invite them over one day and accidentally leave that door open for them to discover the casket room.
@TheSWolfe6 жыл бұрын
I met a lady in my hometown once who had a full-sized fancy casket in her living room that she used as a coffee (coffin?) table. As per yr idea, yr budz would prob pee their pants or run away if, after their "accidental" discovery, u sadly tsk-tsk'd whilst slowly walking toward them commenting, "Oh dear. I really wish u wouldn't have seen that. We can't have this getting out..."

That was as interesting as it was depressing. The biggest problem with pet burials is finding a pet cemetery that isn't a take the money and run operation. I went with a friend to check on her pets grave when she heard the place had fallen to ruin, we had a hard time finding it, and we discovered it overgrown to the point you couldn't see the gravestones very well, someone else finally took it over and cleaned it up, but in my book anyone who takes advantage of a families grief for profit is about the lowest form of life you can encounter. Hey Jacob, you going to Mackinac City by chance? I'm heading up there Mon-Wed this week.

Those things are unnecessarily large lol but anyway .. As someone that used to work in the funeral industry (I used to do removals and transportation of decadents), I can see the value of such a service being offered for people's pets. Dignity, even for a pet, at their time of death, is a valuable thing for most people. Something pets don't always get when they pass away.

Thank you, Jacob, for covering this subject. A sensitive one when it comes to our furbabies. I have an older cat & was thinking about I was too do when the unfortunate time comes. I'm not sure what I would do. I have a question for you. If you have to make the choice between burial or cremation, which would you choose? With cremation, I can take the urn with me wherever I go until i decide where & when. Burial happens at the time of passing. Pleas offer your insight & opinion on this sensitive topic. I would like to know. Being a cat person I value your insight.
