Thank you! I've been worrying about my cat because he uses his carpeted cat tree as a scratching post. That often leaves strands of carpet fiber(strings) dangling from the cat tree. He sometimes tries to eat the dangling strings. I try to inspect the cat tree regularly and I cut the exposed strings from the tree, but it's only a matter of time before he ends up swallowing one of the strings. I would hate to throw it away because he does enjoy sleeping in it. Any advice?

If the string is very short the risk is very low. Keep trimming it regularly as you are and replace it when it is getting too frayed. Sounds like your cat really loves it
