Funnily enough one of my tamest boys is an abyssinian whose fur is actually in the wrong direction, so petting him from head to butt is actually against the direction of the fur, and butt to head is with the fur. So I get to enjoy petting a guinea pig backwards. 😂

@@aquabluerose7734 The fur on his face goes in the correct direction (you can stroke him nose to forehead) but then it meets with the part from his body that's in the wrong direction and makes a sort of spike/point on his head like a unicorn. He also has a ridgeback! He's a gorgeous boy! First thing is first I like that guinea pig he's very cute I love his fur coloration it's very unique and very beautiful. Now when I had my guinea pig. I would actually get to rub his belly he felt comfortable enough with me and safe enough with me that I would actually get to rub his belly. And he had a cute guinea pig belly. The coloration to his belly for was lighter than his fur on his back and on his side. It was like this light brown but not super light. It almost look like a dark caramel. But I also remember I would rub his nose and he would put his nose in my face and I would kiss him on his nose cuz he had a cute little pink and black nose had I do miss my guinea pig I said this before I don't miss ended up in the hospital because of my guinea pig. But I do miss the noises and him crying up on my shoulder and sticking his nose right into my ear and talking to me. I do miss that a lot cuz it always gave me goosebumps

mine wasnt into scratching she prefered just put her chin near my hand and just lay near me i guess tht was her way of getting attention , she was abdoned i found her is headges near lake so maybe thats why too , my other piggy teached her how to be social most likely but when it came to new people she would bite their fingers away 😅 she just accepted petting from me or licking from my dog , she loved my dog so much 😅

He's a beautiful boy!! Maggie hated when I pet her against the grain, but sometimes it do just a few strokes real quick when I brushed her to loosen up any dead or loose hair. When she was a just a little pigletbb she hated her bum touched, I couldn't even do a full length stroke/pet. I'd get to her hips and she'd start fussing. But I worked on her for a few months, slowly getting closer and further down until she learned that it wasn't so bad. After that, whenever we had our cuddle sesh, she would always curl up with her bum in the palm of my hand, as if she was saying, "ok, I nap now, you protect my bum" and she'd go sound asleep with her butt in my hand. Every Night! So they can get over it, but it takes time and patience and don't push it

@@ITIsFunnyDamnIT thank you, yesterday would have been Maggies 6th Gotcha Day, they both passed to young even with all the best food and care, they're just fragile little things. You know how dogs sometimes go around in circles before laying down to get that perfect spot? That's the way Mags was, she'd do a little circle or 2 under my hand until she was positioned just right, always with her bum in the palm of my hand, then and only then did she settle in for a good nap. When she was a baby, she slept on my shoulder. She liked to groom me behind my ear, only the left side, never the right! I had to put a stop to it tho because I had a huge bald spot behind my ear from her grooming 😆

@@mszoomy Wow, that is quite the personality and it's both cute clever and funny that she was giving you a haircut. If more people spent enough time with them they'd see just how smart and clever guinea pigs can be, and yes I worry about that all the time with my boys. They have a huge cage, the best of everything, organic produce fresh hay that's always second cut, pockets cleaned, nails trimmed ivermectin CBD etc etc, yet they are so fragile is right and can also do everything they can to hide this by instinct. I don't even want to think about when that day comes for my boys. We do the best we can at least they knew they were loved. That really is an awesome personality she had indeed 🐹🐹💯

We had a guinea pig where the hairline was reversed so you have to stroke her from back to front. (of course not starting too far back). I think the reason they don't like their back to be touched is because it's more or less their private area and you are not welcome there. I always thought they would bonk their head up if you covered their eyes because they want to see the world and you're blocking their sight so they bonk your hand away.

My Guinea pig used to go pancake on me when I pet her, and would fall asleep on me. Sadly she passed away not long ago and my other guinea pigs don't really do that. But I love when they pancake.

I was wondering if my guinea liked it to be petted like with the head scratches. She would always come close to the door of the cage and when I start petting her she would just hold in place. And as soon as I stop she looks up like: "Yo, why did you stop?" I was a little worried if she might just freeze and let me do it to benefit for snacks, but she always had the opportunity to run away and she never does. Thank you Saskia, now I really know she is enjoying it.

Used to have a guinea pig named Venus. She would rest in a rabbit cage during the night and in the day she would get free roam of the whole house. We didn't get any guinea pig playmates but as a family, we did our absolute best to keep her entertained and socialized. She never bit, and she would always pancake when I would pet her on my lap. There were often times that she would purr. Her favorite spot to be was in the living room.

I have a roommate and he ans his family are from central America. And sometimes just for the heck of it, they will buy around 50 big Guinea pigs just to eat them for dinner 😢. I'm an animal lover and I can't find myself eating them. It's like if one day I decide to eat my rabbit 🐰 or my dog 🐶. This video makes me so sad. A few days ago I had to surrender my guinea pigs because me and my little brother were going to start sharing a room and he’s allergic to them. I had them for 5 months and it hurt so much surrendering them. One of them used to absolutely love being pet on the chin. 🥺

They are such sweet creatures. When I clean them out I have had nothing but a bucket (clean one) and they are like a guinea pig jigsaw. So patient knowing they will have a clean and lovely cage. They sit perfectly still jammed up together. I pet them and they are such perfect friends. The head-Chuck and how sassy they are is so funny. They are such complainers. So chatty. Chin scratch is what they love. I love them. 😍😔
