Horses do not deserve to be treated that way. I’m not a professional, but somebody has to do something about this like the authorities or something. The people that choose to be jockeys for this kind of thing have to look in the mirror and think about what they’re doing. Imagine you getting smacked whipped and broke your leg in half. In the Carolina’s My sister was in barrel racing so my mom made me show as much support as I could by going to all her shows and horse auctions etc. and most of it was fun but I didn’t t like riding horses, they are massive animals.so I would always be walking around and doing my own thing at events. At horse auctions….of everyone you see with a horse….those same people are very extremely competitive. To the point where they would go to the extent of using drugs or abusing the horse. And if the horse isn’t good enough it’s sold. And 80% of the time horses aren’t sold. They are sent to the slaughterhouse. Just like a pig loaded on to a 18 wheeler.

This is why underground racetracks need to be shut down. This is why public racetracks should be held to a higher standard. All I ask is that they put some tendon boots on these horses.

Tendon boots won't help. They need to stop drugging these horses, give them proper vet and farrier care, and wait another 2 yrs before even training. These horses start training at 2 yrs old. Their leg bones aren't fully developed until they are 4yrs. Their spine isn't developed until 5-6yrs. That's why there are so many injuries. They drug because of the injuries. The injuries get worse because they don't let the horse heal. These horses are dying at 3,4,5 yrs old and that's just the ones who make it to the track. That doesn't count the 2yr olds sent to auction, most likely bought by slaughter because they were injured. This is more than a tendon boot issue.

Even as a kid,dragged to horse racing events,I hated with a passion how the horses were treated whipping them to run faster. That is horrible. My mom used to be a trainer. She used to train them for the races and work them but she got to see all the abuse. One of the horses got really tired of it and they flipped over on my mom. She survived but she got in a concussion and she broke some ribs. It’s horrible horse racing needs to stop.
