Always great to see a new reaction, thanks for taking the time to share with us! I've become addicted to Pete & Bas, guys like this are getting me back in to hip hop, especially with the way they work with their flows. It just tends to pull me in and get me stuck. I'm glad i'm not the only one who sits there and plays through Bas' section there with that demonic flow. Also it's great to hear how they reached out, I love seeing that kind of interaction and knowing that they're down to earth gentlemen. And I agree about their beats. Their producers are amazing.

"Switch suits like Mr.Benn" bar is based on an old brit cartoon called Mr. Benn, where he would change his suit & have an adventure based on the type of clothes he has on
@AAAndrewАй бұрын
You can see why so many suggested this one. This and the one with Fumze were their breakout hits. There are also so many doubles in here. One example, Bas’s “Mess with the cake and I’ll Battenberg ‘em.” Battenberg is a type of cake where the layers are cut, and it results into a checkerboard pattern that looks like the pattern on the side of ambulances. Then Pete starts the next like with the name of a big maker of cakes and pastries. (Kipling)
@tonym1459Ай бұрын
Bas first verse had cake doubles too: "breaking them down like steps on the back of the box like Crocker." Then he starts the next line with "Bet he" = Betty. Betty Crocker. Lyrics with layers, like a cake.

I really like these guys. Yours is the first reaction I've seen that acknowledges the fact that this beat is NOT easy to rap to. These guys always make me smile.
@Lynx86Ай бұрын
One of the most clever lines in this (but easily missed) is "I dream like Martin Luther, Fall asleep to the sound of the hoover". While hoover is British for vacuum cleaner, here it's likely referring to J.Edgar Hoover director of the FBI. Likely the guy who ordered MLK's assassination. "fall asleep to" meaning to die. Enforced by the "nightmare" line stringing on to Hoover. "Hoovers nightmare" was a popular book about the MLK assassination.

I'm loving these Pete and Bas reactions you're doing. As a Brit living in the USA, it's nice to see these guys get some love. A lot of people try discrediting them for potentially having ghostwriters. Fact remains, who cares if they do? If they do or don't, their delivery is still top-tier. You could give these verses to any average person and they couldn't rap them like this; let alone, have this level of swag and charisma doing it.
@jackstrawfulАй бұрын
To whatever extent theyre taking input from collaborators, the ability to implement others' work is, if anything, even more impressive.
@blahmcblahface3965Ай бұрын
If its the two younger ones writing it's a great combo cause these guys are more believable and better with the delivery...their tones are different and complement each other, the younger 2 guys sound the same as each other

Respect to everyone involved in whatever capacity. It’s a brilliant idea and every time they drop something, it blows half the scene out the water. Best lyrics I’ve heard in decades, flow that Busta would be happy with. The whole old school gangster vibe, mixing up roadman slang and Cockney rhyming slang, it’s genius. I don’t care who does what, I’m just so glad Pete and Bas exist. Keep it coming boys.
@crystalscolza1663Ай бұрын
It doesn't every major rapper you know has ghost writers. It's how you perform it that's important. That's like saying it's weird that actors don't write their own lines
@jonaniceАй бұрын
The lyrics heavily reflect their age though so I doubt they solely rely on a ghost. I think with the amount of experience they have would bring the ability to write better than younger dudes, so I think they would probs write most and only get some modern terms offa like grandkids
@ChubbyTheCheckerАй бұрын
He used weight as a homophone, weight/wait. Weight meaning drugs. Also i dont know if its just not as cool of a bar as i think it is but in the previous bar he goes "break him down like the back of the box of the crocker I "BETTY/BET HE" take that" like Betty Crocker, good shit. Good reaction

This is their masterpiece! My next best is 'Longthorne Shotgun' 'Plugged-in with Fumez the Engineer' 'Browns' 'Quick 1-2' 'Mr Worldwide' 'Stepped Into The Building' Sindhu is an Indian river. Sindhu World is the label, owned by Uncle Bal (the bald Indian in the videos) that puts out all of Pete and Bas, and The Northern Boys music. Sindhu Sesh is their version of the Daily Duppy platform for UK rappers, which uses a yellow and black background. All of their music is produced by P&B's grandsons, 91Shots and Handsome Dexter. And they have formed a rap duo Nine and Dex. The communities that Pete and Bas grew up in means that they're rapping from experience. Masters 🐐🐐
@deanosaur808Ай бұрын
I don't think it's owned by uncle bal. Originally there was a guy called Sindhu, he disappeared and was replaced with uncle bal. The channel is called Sindhu world because thats where it all started. A weak attempt at comedy that ended shortly after Pete and Bas appeared on the Instagram page. The name just stuck, and all the tracks are now published by Sindhu world. Uncle bal probably helped with funding in the early days, it's all one big mystery lol

I love the fact that the guys have got in touch with you. You deserve it. I have heard one other reactor who had had a shout out. Yeah they are independent. Love your reactions - I am not a big hip hop head - I was into music from the age of 3 over 60 years ago - and having an older brother, I was rocking to all sorts. I had an early dip into hip hop around 20 yrs ago, but didn't resonate with it Started listening a couple of years ago - Tom MacDonald, then the collabs sent me into country rap, ACal, Jam Wayne et al. Then Ren and early this year the Pete and Bas rabbit hole! Love your reactions as it helps me understand a bit more about the skills involved - enhances the appreciation. If you want to see them in some early stuff - there is the Old Estate which is a collab with M24 - Bas goes mad in that one too. You will like Mr Worldwide for the back and forth. Speeding is a really early one - and you will see how far the production values have changed. The boys and their grandsons have got so polished over the last few years - as you would expect from people who take their craft seriously. Love to all from the UK

@deanosaur808I think Bal owns a few local stores - there used to be a couple of KZbin vids of Bal promoting the ?main Blackheath shop from 2016/7. Have you done Plugged in with Fumez the Engineer yet? I think the back and forth is even stronger in that one, and Bas has the most insane flowing verse two in it.... Ok - from what I've seen out and about - Pete was associated with a group of people who used to hang with the Kray Twins (and you have to know who they are!), and Bas was involved in an underground bare knuckle boxing ring. Were they involved in drugs and the like? Probably. The violence references are too accurate for people who don't have first hand experience, and yes, I fully believe they write all their own lines. In a world of gangsters, where the average life expectancy is pretty low, the old guys are the scariest!

The first half of the song is all doubles. Pete's sleep scheme at the beginning is also about disillusionment from your ideologies, he's talking about though he dreams like dr. King, as he falls asleep to the sound of the hoover (as you would a vacuum, but he's talking about j edgar hoover and its also uk gun slang) he's basically saying that he's falling asleep to gunshots, just like doctor king. So reality is turning that idealistic dream into a nightmare. Frederick Krueger. His whole schtick. I then interpret sleep with the fishes now he's tuna to mean that he can't afford to sleep and dream. It's one of my favorite verses.

Their independent. They started Sindhu World when some UK freestyle platforms weren't taking them seriously. So they came out with Sindhu Sesh on Sindhu World.

They was taken seriously. You have to remember those channels focused mainly on drill music, and windowframe cypher 2 was anything but drill. Their songs still get promoted by grm daily, a Google search of their latest tracks will confirm that. Any beef is just banter lol

@deanosaur808 They wanted to do a Daily Duppy and didn't get it for what ever reason, they then did Sindu Sesh . Not primarily Drill at all Chip, Aitch, Ghetts etc. When they started they did alot of Drill. Tweeko and Sebz The coldest link up, then the did a collab with M24 and then did the Plugged in with fumes.

Pete is the alliteration King. Second verse of Mr worldwide starts out with just stepped out in Dublin. That whole paragraph is fire. And if you have not heard it yet. Bish bash bosh, second verse from both.

Watch the video for their song Golf cuz in that one Pete actually gets more specific about his past. It's on the GRM Daily channel but they don't put subtitles so best to check some lyrics website to follow along. It's from like 3 years ago but I think it's top. I like how you go in depth in these reactions. Keep it up!
