Boss I think you need to do research about guns in the UK. Every airport there is police with Guns. You are getting confused. Police do carry guns there called Armed police. There's different divisions in the police force that deal with different stuff. A desk policeman will not carry. Someone taking a statement will not carry, etc. You can own a firearm in the UK it's just much stricter regulations and just because you hear the term it's illegal it has restriction rules. Also people buy guns from gun dealers etc.
