To get sober is a battle and it is also a battle to stay sober once you get clean. You just gotta take it one day at a time. It's the cliche thing to say but it is true. Being sober can be boring at first but it does get better with time. You have to motivate yourself and remind yourself everyday of why you decided to get clean and focus on that. It's not easy to win the fight against addiction but it can be done

@timacree71775 жыл бұрын
yep, a lot of ignorance out there on the subject. I like cannabis, but it's not as benign as folks think (psychologically). It totally cuts off dreaming - I wonder if it prevents REM sleep, or it has something to do with memory. The sweats are very real (and often smell vaguely of weed). Good luck, Eminem!

Methamphetamine recovery / withdrawal feels the same way... Nothing is enjoyable and in fact you don't even want to get up and do anything but you will at the same time feel anxious and guilty for not doing anything... Good luck trying to take a nap without any tranquilizer ...you will just be stuck in bed with no willpower to do anything productive while beating yourself up about it for hours and the days take so long ...so so long.... and there's nothing to even look forward to that the day is ending, other than maybe you'll be tired enough to sleep. But then in the morning you wake up with a feeling of dread that cannot be shook. That you have to do this all again and many more days to follow. I think there must be some type of antidepressant that can help with this interim low

To the people jumping to defend your one true love, marijuana, chill out. Heavy weed use can cause withdrawals when you quit. I've withdrawn from weed. I had night sweats and I've sweat during the day while freezing my ass off. You can get headaches, you can get depressed, bored, anxious, have mood swings, and you can seriously crave getting high. And yeah, detox can last a month because THC gets stored in your fat. That's why you can test positive on a drug test after quitting a month ago if you're a heavy user. Weed can keep you from having dreams. It can keep you from having a healthy REM cycle. Just because it's not as physically damaging as any other mind/mood altering drug, that doesn't mean marijuana is perfect. Marijuana Anonymous exists for a reason.

I suffer from BPD as well and let me tell you, weed was hell for me. Most of people underestimate the psychedelic effect of weed and for someone who suffers from BPD weed makes you feel paranoid, depressed, anxious, not to mention psychotic/euforic episodes once in a while. I used to have full on panic attacks in public when I was high on weed. To the point of passing out in public toilets floors like a goddamn crackhead. Also, the combination of weed, psychedelics and mental illness is pretty fucked up. I can't even imagine the psychologic damage Pete was going through. Weed can be damaging to some people, weed's not for everyone, especially those with mental illness.
