Really good looking board. Nice and neat. I've built boards for people in the past (well more the switching systems) and it never ceases to amaze me when I look at someone who's been playing professionally for years, sometimes decades, they'll have vintage pedals and pricey boutique pedals, but using the $1.99 patch cables that are in the jugs at the counter in shops (jugs that normal have penny candy). Its.... Maddening.

I picked up a rockaway Archer about a month ago & it’s a killer pedal! Also I switched out most of my power supplies to the Friedman power grids & they are outstanding! Killer board Pete!

Well that's a really nice board, with capacity to cover a lot of ground. Great work from Dave! I don't think I've seen such a neat piece of work, he certainly didn't spare the good gear underneath either. I know many of us have been following Pete's tone for some years now, myself included. The Archer EQ is awesome just watch the demo done on this pedal with Pete and Steve you will be blown away. Watch that Freqout I know you dig that pedal! Thanks for the input depth demo it just helps us keep tweaking our own tone that little more whether we run a board like this or a rack system. Enjoy Japan!

I knew you used a DD500. I Bought one after watching this. I'm experimenting with delay and reverb order but intrigued by your additional reverb in front of the amp as well as the Echoplex. Picked up an Echoplex for exactly what you demonstrated here. Best VH sound advice thanks to your dedicated Echoplex video. I'll have to watch again to find out your time based post amp order. Beautiful tones and presets you produce . 👍

NIce setup Pete, and these build videos are extremely helpful and fun to watch. You should sell this pedalboard pre-built. I think you have all the tones I need covered! It does look like the Helix and its cousins still aren't ready for primetime in spite of their routing capabilities.
@thesphericalguy90186 жыл бұрын
So awesome, congrats on the new build! People forget that G2 has extremely limited midi functionality, so I don't think that would have worked very well for Pete.
@justingarcia77226 жыл бұрын
TheSphericalGuy this is true. I feel dan, at the core, designed the gigrig as a true bypass loop for people, like him (and myself), who love analog stomboxes and highest quality signal fidelity. It’s the perfect solution for those who want to run a germanium fuzz, strymon, 70s ehx pedal, etc etc and not have the associated issues of noise, buffers and so on. Dans specialty is more in power, impedance, buffers, signal path, he never seems to concerned or privy to midi since I don’t think he really uses it much. This is all deduced from watching his vids. I never use midi but I can see Pete’s choice here being better suited for his applications

Agreed, the G2 is obviously a fantastic switcher don't get me wrong. Easy to use and ultra transparent. Different tools for different jobs.

Pete, great video! I was looking forward to it (as I am now to #3). I really like your Edge and Ethos semi-dirty tones. The new Musicomlab switchers are awesome. I'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on the DD-500 and how it compares to the Timeline after you've been using it for a while.
@lvpg29436 жыл бұрын
According to Tim Pierce, who also uses the pedal, it is far easier to program and allows you to input the exact time signature of a song...and it sounds great. If you're into tweaking tone, it allows for far more options.
@GuitarsAndSynths5 жыл бұрын
@@lvpg2943 I prefer the Timeline over the Boss but the Boss mod pedal is easier to use and can use 2 FX over the Strymon Moebius
@LeviBulger5 жыл бұрын
Former timeline owner here. Switched to dd500 after some shootouts in a mix. Wasn't really even close, the Boss sounds far more "real" than the grainy, almost over processed tone of the timeline. Not only was the boss retaining the natural tone but also stays out of the way a lot better. The timeline does have a couple of really cool settings, but the boss has a better analog and tape sound to my ears and is a thousand times easier to dial in any particular sound.

I love that you have access to any pedal you want yet choose tried and true MXR & Boss pedals. That tells me quite a lot. There's a few higher priced boxes but in all, very accessible board. nice. seems like solid choices for a gigging traveling guitarist. also, is this designed to go to house and not to a backline? or both
