For everybody who has a problem with the 55 going into breakup too soon, experiment with the LINE/NORMAL switch on the top left of the plugin window. On LINE, the amp has more clean headroom, which made a big difference to me. Also, make sure to put the amp in the Unison slot.

The "High" input setting on the 55 Deluxe is pretty good. I still use a mic and amp and some of the best sounds have been "Fuzz " pedals plugged direct into the mixer(That's what I was told). The point being wr should all be experimenting with all these great gizmos if we can .

Great tones & playing Pete!!! I've been following your channel to see if I can improve my recorded tones by using some of your methods... Something I'd personally love to see you do is a video with some of the less-costly plug-ins, like Amplitube 4, S-Gear, etc...I'm sure the UAD plug-ins are great, but they're expensive for a lot of guys like me... Again, I'd love to hear you demo AT4 & give your thoughts about that particular plug-in....

Pete, pardon my ignorance, but are you using the Apollo twin "Duo thunderbolt with your mac and logic ?. I am a big fan of tweed amps, but realistically, for recording a track , these plug in in a mix do the job nicely. Thank you for bringing this technology to our attention.
@richadams4338 жыл бұрын
Nice demo. You running that chain solely on the Apollo twin and are you recording the inserts or using the plugs in logic? Running a 2013 mbp and mange to use all the dsp trying to replicate the tones...

Hi Pete, your videos great and your channel is really informative, thanks a lot! I also have an Apollo8duo interface, I like my ENGL and Tweed plug-ins and want to go for the rest of UAD guitar stuff. But I can't decide between UAD plug-in stuff and another software based hardware variation like HELIX, or a SUHR reactive loadbox + classic20 mini+6505 mini,couse 3 of them costs the same money just for 1 Helix unit, or close to rest of the UAD plug-ins I wanna buy! Which way would you go for ?? My aim is just to get the best result at line level recordings.Btw, I'm not playing live, so live playing advantages of the platforms is no important for me.. Thanks!

First of all , the Sounds Pete does create with the 55 twin are GREAT ! But i´ve struggled the last two years to make this Amp sound like in this Video . That had several Reasons ..1. it was not Possible to put more than 2 Plug-ins into one Channel , and NOW when i make my PC new with Windows 10 and a new Installation of UAD Software ..SUDDENLY i can drop 4 Pllug-ins (or more ..i don´t tried) into a Channel ..Great BUT i have STILL the Problem with the 7ender 55 Twin ..it Sounds (stand Alone) ABSOLUT Horrific ..if THIS is a 55 Twin Sound what comes out of my Monitors (Genelec) than Every Cheap Harley Benton Amp is better ..:-D And i have Good Guitars ..a Fender Custom Team build Postmodern Strat (Absolute Great Axe) , another Fender with HSS and Kloppman PU´s (The BEST !) Gibso SG Standard , and a Flying V (Silverburst with Lace Sensor PU´s ) Wit some other Amp Plug-ins i have some really nice Sounds (Marshall Silver Jubilee) But Also with the Friedman BE-100 it´s not Possible to get a really sophiscatingt sound out of my Monitors .. It would be Nice to find a good Tutorial how to set everything right and how to get this Plug-ins REALLY Sounding good .. I am such a noob with this things , but it would be great to use it the right way ..like in the Vid of Pete !

How many milliseconds of latency do you have on your Interface. I have mine set at 3ms, and it still trips up my timing, but any lower, and it starts to "crackle".
@henrikpetersson34638 жыл бұрын
With the these plugins on the Apollo you will have near zero latency as the plugins runs on the audio interface. No need to make your computer work hard.

Sounded great on my end but I wonder how much the guitar tone had to do with it. I suspect that guitar has a great sound to start with. Still, the plug-in certainly was a big part or at least didn't screw it up.
