I read Way a quote from his UFO bandmate, lead guitarist Paul Chapman, about the aftermath of Bon’s death. Way died in 2020. Originally used for the book BON: THE LAST HIGHWAY by Jesse Fink. BON: NOTES FROM THE HIGHWAY is released on Amazon in October. Preorder: www.amazon.com... Unauthorised use not permitted. For permission to use, contact Jesse Fink through jessefinkbooks.com

There's so much about Bon that has still to come to light. Well done for researching this - every last detail counts. Then we can get to major things like those Bon-style lyrics on the Back in Black album...

My dad is into poetry. He writes his own and he reads all the greats. He knows a decent amount of Bon's lyrics, especially for a bluegrass-loving guy. Lol But he was always really impressed with Bon's wit and humor and his relatable lines. Especially lines like, "I've got patches on the patches on my old blue jeans..."; my dad grew up poor so he could relate to what Bon was writing about. When I asked him what the chances were that Brian would be able to write like his predecessor, Bon, with lines that are near verbatim (just a different perspective) such as, "I'm coming on like a hurricane", which is just like Bon wrote in Stick Around with "You came on like a hurricane" 5.5 years prior. Or use the line "Made a meal out of me" which is like Bon's line in Love Hungry Man from a year earlier; "All I wanna do, is make a meal outta you". Plus other Bon-isms or actual straight-up Bon expressions. Meanwhile, the band says, "Brian just so happened to write just like Bon!" My dad laughed. My old man is a smart guy. And he knows good, talented writing when he sees/hears it. I said, "Dad, how do you know so many AC/DC lyrics?" He said, "Between you and your brother I've been listening to them for 45 years. How can I not pick up on it?" Lol Think about this one: In Hells Bells the lyric goes, "MY lightning's flashing across the sky", right? Bon gave an interview where he was asked, "Are you AC or DC?", Bon replied, "Neither! I'm the lightning flash in the middle!" So, "MY lightning's flashing across the sky" is an OBVIOUS Bon Scott line, to me.

Bon wanted to finish life on the road touring etc as he told a friend in Texas about 77/78 ish he’d had enough of being on the road. But it’s funny there’s never ever been any demos from BIB on the internet as if it was available we’d see it and being the 2 nd biggest selling album of all time

Brian may have added a line or two to some songs, but he was never a lyricist like Bon. Back In Black was written primarily by Bon. Brain came in and within 6 weeks he wrote lyrics, practiced, rehearsed, recorded, finished his part of the album? Yeah, sure. AC/DC would never have gone into the studio without first being 100% absolutely prepared.

Brian has stated in great detail the exact moments he wrote the lyrics to Hells Bells, You Shook Me All Night Long, Shoot To Thrill etc, the exact things that gave him inspiration. He's not a liar. The Young's provide the riffs and song titles - "Here, we think this one's gonna be called Hells Bells, off you go"

Same here, Jim. I really doubt Angus would have thrown them out. From what I've heard and read about Angus it just doesn't seem like something he would do. I don't think he really cares about Brian's legacy and if people one day find out the truth about BIB. To me it was obvious when they got Axl in the band (and they can pretend all they want, but he was most certainly there to take over from Brian. Look at the way they quickly wished Brian the best on his future endeavors). During an interview Angus was singing Axl's praises, comparing him to Bon. Cliff Williams said he hadn't seen Angus so excited in many, many years. Angus talked about how Axl reminded him of Bon in that he had he was like a "Folk character" and had his own personality like Bon. Then you had the Youngs wanting to boot Brian in the late 80s because they were going nowhere fast. I think the Youngs wanted another Bon from that point on. Someone who could write lyrics so they didn't have to, someone who could sing and come up with melodies over their riffs and ideas. Basically, another Bon who could whip their riffs and chord progressions into full-on songs the way Bon did. I will always credit Jeremy "JR" Hunsaker for coming up with that entire analogy on who the real songwriter was; Bon. The only thing that saved Brian's job then was the success of The Razor's Edge. If that album did about the same as Blow Up Your Video they would have no doubt given Brian the axe. Cheers, pal! Oran

@@darrenakers8680 Randy's demise was swept under the rug, and most silly 🐑believe the narrative. Those involved like it that way. As for myself, I'm not impressed with those that love and make a lie. I believe I have figured it out but their really is no sense, as no one will care, nor listen as they just will say it's an opinion, and they would be right to say so.
