This was the first time in all my time that I have watched strictly that the male celebrity LEAD the dance. This was amazing, well done Pete. I am an argentine tango dancer myself and this is what the dance is all about. 2 people connecting with each other and the music becoming one. We don't do lifts on the social dance floor and without that non dancers may think that they too can do the this dance. Thank you for a wonderful dance!! I loved it!!

Craig was right it wasn't really an Argentine and quite difficult to identify as one (if you look at the fundamentals needed) but I actually really liked it the lifts were beautiful and the atmosphere and whole feel was there. 7/10

Blimey there are some real dance snobs aren’t there? I’m just a viewer who’s enjoying watching someone put on a great show and work their backside off to do their best. And I’m loving it. So if you’ve want to knock the performance you can knock all of us who love watching Pete. He’s real and I have massive respect for what he’s doing. And the abuse is disgusting in my opinion. I completely understand if someone doesn’t like a particular contestant or if they are picky because they are some kind of experts . . . But this is about bringing people in and teaching them to dance. So I say ‘hats off to all the contestants’ - they’re all amazing. But certainly not hats off to unpleasant and sniffy judgmental comments. It’s the kind of thing that has always put me off Strictly but this series has seemed very different and I love the interactions between the contestants and dancers. I got the impression is was open for all to enjoy, even if you’re not a dance snob.

I agree with you but it works both ways - people are allowed to think Pete's dancing is not great just as you are allowed to think it's great. I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with dance snobbery, many people have a sense of fairness - they want to see the judges apply their scores fairly across the board so that better dances are rewarded more or his are rewarded less. Abuse is not on, I agree, but I've not seen any of that here, just opinions about his dance ability versus the others'. I have no vested interest here btw, I'm no dance expert and I've voted for Pete many times.

I agree with Craig on this one. Seemed like very few Argentine Tango steps and mostly just walking and posing. But can't blame Pete if that's the choreo he's given.. Perhaps Jowita thought it was the safest thing to do given the time they had.

Craig was wrong, I dance myself for 15 years now and this was more of an argentine tango than some of the other dances that was just lifts too. This was packed with beginners steps and Pete was actually leading the dance. Some male professional dancers have not shown this skill in this dance form like Pete did last night.

I think Pete keeps everything so real...he tunes into his emotions and is wearing his heart on his sleeve...all very difficult for him to do given his struggles. He has made it clear all the way through that he can't believe people are voting for him and that alone is endearing. He is so hard on himself, so actually, it makes no difference what the trolls/keyboard warriors say because he feels and thinks it already. He has low self-esteem and does not think he is good enough which is so very sad. Regardless of this weeks result he should be so proud of himself as much as he is so proud of all the other contestants. Being nice costs nothing people... nothing nice to say then say nothing. Take a long hard look in the mirror and say out loud, "I will treat others like I wish to be treated". This is not a comment to 'stir the pot' it is purely to remind people to be kind. for years, SCD has had contestants that are trained in dance...So people like Pete have been incredible to watch. His journey is what the show should be about. I think that this dance was fantastic, and would of liked to have seen Pete go all the way to the final. Contestants like Tasha, Sarah, and even JB- they're destined to do well because of their training- albeit not in ballroom or latin. Pete, you're a total star 🌟 ❤

Bravo Pete. Shirley is right. It may have lacked a few gancho's, technically, but it still identified as Argentine Tango in feeling and meaning. Passionate, dark, steamy, close, intimate, vulnerable, sad and very hot,hot,hot. That's how its done in the street clubs anyway. This AT sent him home. We know They have the chemistry, but for the semis, that isn't enough anymore. This AT needed to be stronger, and Jowita did all the intricate steps. They could have gone to the final week by picking another type of dance. His fate was sealed when the judges started their comments (Motsi and Shirley didn't help him and, again, very tactical scoring).

Loved this! Pete has come so far and the viewers love watching him which is why they’ve never been in the dance off. I think it’s offensive to both Jowita and the A.Tango specialists for Craig to say it’s not a proper A.Tango. He’s not offending Pete because he just dances what he’s told to dance. He is directly offending the choreographer and their skills at putting together a routine. If I was the choreographer of this dance I’d feel really disrespected by that comment. Score - *9!!* not a typo 🤭 The music, setting, costume and choreography made this happen, this just worked, it had a timeless drama and eye catching intensity about it that draws you in. The lifts were amazing, I loved Pete's footwork when the music sped up he nailed that, his patterning skills here were fantastic, he made no mistakes and captured the mood an Argentine Tango needs, full of chemistry and emotion. It really should be his last week on the show and everyone knows that but he's been so much fun to watch over the last 4 months and the fact he's still here in December coming up to the final and Christmas breaking stereotypes held against him, it's such a beautiful thing, people thought they knew him from adam and judged him cause of his long hair and tattoos, I bet they're the ones who've been voting to keep him in every week even though he's the weakest, I do half want him there in the final, I know its about dancing at this stage but Jowita is amazing and they work so beautifully together, so I wouldn't be fuming if they do get a place next week, even tho they'll never win

Obvs it came across poorly but I’m thinking she wouldn’t want to out and out say “well he didn’t choreo so it’s not his fault” cos that would be insulting to the people who did? Idk that, that IS what she was getting at but I’m just trying to give it some logic because otherwise it is just such a weird statement. Ok, the was actually quite cool. I particularly loved that sequence that led to the ending. Definitely one of his better dances. Craig was quite harsh in saying there wasn't Argentine Tango technique. He may not be the best, but I've seen more technique content than in a previous Strictly winner's Argentine Tango. He may have done better dances, but this was executed well. Maybe this harshness should have been around when he was actually dancing terribly. Not at this.

I'd love Pete to win this based on the essence of Strictly that ot should ne total non-dancers achieving their best over 12 weeks AND making the TV audience FEEL their passion and dances. Pete and Jowita draw you in ,in every sense. Can't take your eyes off them. They connect with the audience on an extra sense level. Other dancers are brilliant and provide their own strengths. But some are a bit FLAT, in emotion. Pete's vulnerability as an amateur is a huge appeal. Essence of Strictly. People's choice? Mr.Strictly, as Shirley said! Even id Pete doesn't win, his TV impact has been huge. Just hope he doesn't go back to boring, vaccuous, unreal 'Reality' cr*p?😂

It’s a travesty that the BBC don’t have to pay royalties when they cover someone’s music. Richard Ashcroft and the rest should be paid when a show like this uses their music. Instead of the big fat pay packets for average presenters, they should reward those whose music they rip off.

This looked very good and Pete looked very good, love this track and I was surprised how they adapted it so that it could work for an AT, but he didn't really do much dancing, did he? Jowita did everything. She's a great saleswoman. No leg action or AT technique from him even if the lifts were good. Also he's always bent too far forward, even more so tonight - in both dances. Agreed with Craig but it seems Craig's the only one trying to uphold standards where Pete is concerned. Motsi decided it was ok to completely forego technique in favour of feeling for this dance but not for others' dances. At best, it's a balance, surely, and please, let's apply the same rules across the board given it's a dance competition. Anton said it was his best dance but quite a few of his other dances were better than this. He made no mistakes as there wasn't enough technique on display to make mistakes with. We know he can express emotion and character on the dancefloor. That's great but it's not enough. This dance wasn't worthy of a 9 - makes a mockery of the other couples' dances tonight - it was a 7 at best, given the scores for the other dances tonight. I thought they missed a trick with his outfit: pony tail, jacket, dark shirt, and normal tie would have looked better but maybe a jacket would have restricted movement even further. Love Pete, have voted for him many times, including last week, and would have been happy for him to go through this week if he had really pulled it out of the bag compared to the others. So, fair's fair now, the other 4 fully deserve to be in the final. He's done amazingly to get this far and can be very proud. I've enjoyed watching him and getting to know him a bit. The show would have been the poorer without him. Oh, and to the so-called 'anti-haters' on here: expressing a critical opinion of a dance by no means equates to 'hating'. Your inability to accept others' opinions is your problem, no one else's. Abuse is not acceptable - agreed - but there is no one objective authority on who is the best dancer, and that includes you. This show is all about personal favourites despite what some people on here would have us believe.
