Hi Pete. Great video. I enjoy art deco. I am a hobby painter and I am always looking for new ideas and compositions. Are there any current art deco landscape painters or can you suggest some past painters I can look into? Thanks

Hi and thanks for the comment. Contemporary art isn't really my territory, but in terms of the past I can think of a couple of illustrators/artists who might fit the bill. French poster artist Roger Broders did some great scenic views. And there were also quite a few in Britain. If you haven't seen it take a look at my art of the underground video (shameless plug) which features loads of great modernist landscapes. Happy hunting...

Hello Pete and Happy New Year... I remember this part of my early art school training, though I did not pay much attention to it then, I find it very interesting now and can see how it all fit in the evolution of art through the years. Your video was a nice change and well done for the beginning of this new year. Looking forward to your next.

Hello John. It seems to be true that education is wasted on the young. Age definitely brings greater insight and understanding (but that's about the only good thing about it).

Alreet Pete, it's good to see you here. Some quality stuff here and the Arthur Rackham section. It's like one of your lecture but slightly more interesting.

Hello to you and thanks. Took a look at your website and I'm glad to see you're still at it. I've been retird for 5 years now and other than this bastard virus life is good.

Retirement sounds good, doubt I'll get to do that. Out of work at the moment, lost my job couple of years ago. Trying to get my business set up, covid cocked that up for me. Never stop drawing though.

@@leewilbs I'm sorry to hear that. I don't envy you trying to get ahead in this world. But it's good to know you're not giving up.

Hello Mr. Beard. I'm back again. I just discovered your channel with the Dulac documentary and have left a comment there. Also subscribed. Overjoyed to find this episode. Am a student too of the piano and into early twentieth century Latin music. Read Brazil and Argentina. Sadly no access to any original scores the illustrations of which I see on Ragtimedorian, on KZbin. Also holding on to many LPs in original sleeves from the late 40s onwards. Truly happy to have found your channel Sir!! Much peace from Kenya ... 😊🙏
