I have these, the tiny ones and the larger ones, esp all over my abdomen and legs. Only the past few years. I’m currently being diagnosed w Cushings Disease. Cyclical, we believe but have been in a high for years. The symptoms are much more intense and I’ve noticed major neuro-cognitive effects. I also suffered cardiac damage in 2016, which was found incidentally and was asymptomatic. Midwife heard abnormality, sent me to cardio. Echo showed a cardiac right coronary artery fistula (giant in size) with a massive aneurysm (34x36x48mm) of the fistula itself, and a smaller 2-3mm one on my right atrium. But Cushings wasn’t identified or suspected then, or anytime else in the past 16 years I’ve been seeking treatment and have long known I am not well. The only reason I am even being tested now, which isn’t some small feat - I’ve had to fight my way here - is due to my own intuitive research which finally led me to Cushings Syndrome and then Disease. I am currently a full clinical presentation. Beyond the metamorphosis, the mental effects are largely uncharted territory as for public awareness. I intend, if I am able to receive treatment, I want to help others like myself that have been misdiagnosed and disregarded. Women’s pain and suffering has never been believed nor treated in America. It’s a “woman’s disease.” I’ll guarantee you, if it were a men’s disease, it would have received much more funding for research and development of treatments and new procedures over the past many decades. Cushings Disease IS fatal and will eventually take your life, far too young than it would happen otherwise. I had my cardiac cath on my 29th birthday, 8 months after having my only child. The cardiovascular and circulatory risks are cited as the key reasons this disease has such a poor prognosis. A prognosis of 4.5 years - 10 years from onset of symptoms without medical surgical intervention. Yet we have elevated labs and images showed adenomas and we still have to fight for treatment. Most Endos over here give us meds to “lower cortisol” but it doesn’t. It simply fills the cortisol receptors so your outward physical symptoms can lessen but the high levels of cortisol are still circulating throughout the body damaging your internal organs IE your heart and brain. Speaking of - lately, when I cough, I have pain in my brain. It is significant. It comes and it goes. I had chest pain with it recently, I am going for an echo to determine if any more damage.

I am a medical student and the way you explained everything here tells me that you are very educated. I am sorry that you are experiencing this. I hope everything gets better.

@@chikondemaisela347 I was finally diagnosed in February & heading to pituitary surgery in August. It took a lot of advocating, and two years of fighting (on top of the 15 sick prior to that!!) This condition is far from rare. Please keep in mind when you’re meeting patients. God Bless!

I've had great success keeping my condition to small, tiny spots rather than large spots on my forearms. I am 63 years old male. I was diagnosed with senal purpera in 2023. The skin has three main layers: epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. Each layer has different functions and conditions that affect it. The dermis is the middle layer of skin, which contains two essential proteins that contribute to the skin's strength and texture: elastin and collagen. These two proteins keep your skin from wrinkling and sagging, but they break down with age. Elastin can be found in foods like salmon and eggs. I use collagen peptide powder in my coffee in the morning, and I take vitamins D3 -K2 and C. Stop taking ibuprofen, aspirin, an anticoagulant that thins out your blood, making it easy for you to bruise your skin, especially in thin areas of your skin. Don't wash your skin with shampoo; shower with plain water. There are chemicals in shampoo soap to aggravate the epidermis. I noticed the spots would appear after I wash with shower soaps. Shower with cold water, and avoid hot water. It took about 6 to 12 months for my skin to return to normal. This information can help you.
