I get where he's coming from... but I visit my dad from time to time and he lives in an area where there's no cell service and he has no computer. I'll be there and I'll want to look something up to answer a random question, or listen to a random song... but I can't. I don't have a sense of wonder. I feel frustrated. Stifled. There's no intellectual momentum. What do I do instead? WATCH mindnumbing tv that doesn't help me think. I literally do less inquisitive things. At home I hardly ever watch tv. Because I'll get curious in the middle of a show and abandon it... often at the first commercial break I'll pursue something more interesting.

He has a little toddler! Her name is Lila. And he and his wife Valerie are sorta kinda considering having a second kid. If that sounds like I'm spreading private info.....you clearly don't listen to his podcast lol. I'm a _huge_ Pete fan....and his very long-running podcast, You Made It Weird, is just brilliant. As is the spin-off We Made It Weird that's just Pete and Valerie talking about life....existential stuff, becoming a better human being etc. Pete is a genuinely kind smart cool guy. And his wife is utterly adorable....and very smart and funny in her own right. Check the podcast out! It's worth it.

First time I saw him I couldn't stand it, and now I'm a huge fan, I've been to live tapings of his podcast and seen him to stand up. I've even met the guy, and he's pretty wonderful. He really shines as a podcast guest on comedy podcasts, or in the live versions of his own podcast.
