It's not gonna be shiv, I think that's a clear take-away. Also felt the Brody character had made up his mind and used his 'doubt' as a powerplay in the of-chance he could get his 350m back. This whole trip was about testing Kendall's resilience and I didn't expect him to do so well after the previous episode. Those long silences clearly were 'the first one who talks, loses' situations and Ken kept it quite composed. I think Tom's arc is leaning away from the family, it gets so much screentime (rightfully so - brilliant writing)! I think him teaming up with Sandy & Stewy, handing them the tattoo picture for a senior role and some sort of immunity would play hilarious. Ever since the pre-nup situation I have been waiting for Tom to destroy Shiv, and I hope it will not disappoint.

I think this episode showed a lot of truth, like objectively almost. Seeing shiv run around making calls and not even following much formality, with nothing but daddy said so really showed that it can’t be her. Which I funny because I thought it could be, the talk of who it could be is way more considered than experience, especially by the kids. And since Logan decided her I thought okay sure. But yea there’s no way, and in that sense it can’t be Roman either. like Gerri said he doesn’t consider how things will blow back onto him, only the possible impact. He has good ideas but if he had the power of ceo I don’t he’d do good. I think Kendall truly is most capable but with how things are it’s self explanatory how that will likely not be. Kendall’s main fault is only himself, and how he plays with leverage, he’s quick to blow people off and be nasty instead of atleast keep them on the fence, which I believe he gets from Logan of course but Logan has more patience. If Kendall went to therapy he could be great

@@MaRyaYTOfficial I agree in Regard to Shiv, this episode made a airtight Case for why she can’t be it but Roman is a different Story. It is true that Roman didn’t consider that Tattoo move would damage him also but firstly he went to consult with Gerri first before dropping it. Together they are a good team but Gerri may not be interested in sharing power with Roman if they ever reach the top. She could even use the dirt she has up to this point compiler against Roman, including the Tattoo picture against him and Kendall at some stage. Whilst Roman has Myopia in regard to moves that backfire Ken has this in Spades. The Exposing of Logan backfired against him and more importantly the Firm more than any Move Roman would be comfortable making.

I don't think Josh made up his mind to go with Stewie from seeing how old and weak Logan was. I think what killed the deal was when Josh offered to have carts come for them and Logan insulted him, calling him a city boy who was too far away from his bagels. Not just the anti-Semitism but also that Logan talked to Josh like he was one of his kids, even though Josh was in the power position and is like, a multi-billionaire who could literally make or break Waystar with his vote. That's why Josh made them walk so it would take longer and they would see Stewie arriving on the tarmac and Josh actually greeting Stewie there instead of making Stewie travel to the house like Kendall and Logan had to. If they had taken the carts back, they would have been gone and never known that Stewie and Josh were meeting face-to-face that day.
@bernadettedevereaux86943 жыл бұрын
Thank you for solving the puzzling suggestion of why Josh suggested the walk. I thought it was peculiar. Why couldn’t they talk in the house? Was it bugged? But now it makes sense. As for Josh, I don’t think he’s made up his mind at all. I think that he enjoys seeing the mighty Logan and the estranged Kendall squirm. Josh isn’t entirely sold on Stewy. Josh wants to see which alliance makes him money.
@aleksisuuronen59693 жыл бұрын
A lot of it I agree but the going wrong way "the shorter sometimes longer way" and that Josh's guys were lost in the wrong place and Josh isn't wasn't any plan (just billionaires ego, I'm not lost you are u know, especially in front of Roy's). It was just Josh's ego and Logan was right about him not being the outdoors man he makes out to be but the thing is that you don't say that to a guy who in the situation "have a gun on their head" and him actually getting lost after that makes that kinda guy pissed off. The cart was just to get out of the bush without walking to the planes, they would have seen Stewie anyway. It was an island. But asking them to come there was to show that he is the boss (like he says he doesn't like how Logan thinks Josh just won a lottery and that Logan doesn't work for him). Also the going for a walk was samekinda move but also I think he wanted to see in what shape Logan is since he almost died awhile ago and if he is in bad shape and just suddenly dies he knows the company is left scrambled at that point and needing an ambulance for a walk doesnt help to convince. But I think he made his mind before that already after the cityboy comment because it showed that Logan is incabaple of budging into his will (treating him like a boss and not as you said like his kid, dude is lke 45 or something) and I beleave this he made his mind before because he says he needs to run ahead for visitors even before Logan collapses. And who are the next people he meets, Stewie aka there is the visitor. The investors wanted Logan to take the fall in the finale of S02 and he didn't even consider it which lead to this situation. So now Josh gave Logan a change to come and kiss ass and show he understands that he isn't the one in control and who chooses and also to see that Kendall isn't going to sunk the business and is levelheaded. For Josh Kendall stopping and killing his career would have been best and the Logans very good, he is a good kid talk just wasn't enough because Josh just cannot predict what Ken does next. He doesn't know will Ken suicide the company with the papers of Logan's signature etc if he doesn't win or otherwise by a bad move. There just is too many variables that Josh cannot predict and Logan and Ken just cannot convince with something real that the future will be good and how it will happen. Ken ofcourse would want Josh on his back but it comes very clear from the start that it isn't an option for him given how Kendall is viewed right now by everyone as an unpredictable crackhead. Saying in gongress his father is trustworthy and then doing opposite press conference and the Shiv's public statement about Ken which just adds on to what people already know in public that he has addiction issues because Logan leaked it in the famiy therapy episode. So yeah, no shot. Interested to see what happens since Logan and Ken are both pretty much walking on tight rope.

oh my...Greg and Tom are CONFIRMED!
@aleksisuuronen90943 жыл бұрын
There obviously is so much to unpack and have an opinion on but I'll just tackle the first one that I disagreed. I don't think Ken had any idea Greg was going to change sides, Greg is actually someone who Ken could have used in various ways. It's not for a empty reason why Logan says that Greg has leverage here. First of all Greg told about the saved papers to Ken in the Shiv's wedding and I think Ken came to Greg sometime during S02 to say we can down Logan with these if we have to so propably after Logan decided it was Ken who goes to prison and Greg noticed how unvaluable he was seen in the family (send Tom to prison with Greg sprinkles) which spooked him and got him to join Ken, just a logical move to go with the papers. Ok so now we are in S03 and Ken should be kissing Greg's ass to keep him in his side because the best of the best thing Greg could do for Ken if Kendall plays it right would be to testify under immunity about shredding papers and saving those that has Logan's signature which is HUUGE leverage against Logan. But Ken puts Greg to be essentially a waiter and then just laugs that he isn't bying Greg a watch, when 40k is nothing for Kendall and was told to Greg like he would get it to him (maybe misunderstanding but still bad read by Ken's side to just laugh at Greg about it) which showed to Greg how much Ken really values him and what would be his destiny if Ken wins. He would get nothing but foff I don't need you anymore. Kendall just underestimated how much Greg understands of the situation and didn't give him any thanks for saving him or promise anything for the future, he just tought Greg will stay because he is afraid of Logan, his granpa hates Logan and because Ken thinks he can manipulate Greg by half-ässing the whole thing. So now Greg goes to Logan who actually is willing to give Greg what he wants, whatever he wants basically. Why wouldn't he at that point switch sides given that first there was possibility of him going to jail which he managed to squirm out of and after that I don't think he tought he would have much future in the firm because his name is mudded by the congress thing. Then Kendall offers him basically nothing, doesn't butter him up even by buying him a watch.. and still sees him as a butler who gets his coke (and the watch he "hooked" Greg up doesn't even work). Propably Ken said to his friend that I know a guy who will buy that junk over-priced (and I think Greg knows that and he's just more so socially awkward and bought it, not dumb). Logan actually sees what Ken and many viewers don't seem to see that he just doesn't by luck get from place a to b and go further and further but he has made logical good moves without pissing off people no matter how goofy he is socially so that's why Logan knows to put a Real offer to the table for him when Ken just plays with Greg like Greg wouldn't understand his standing in the situation and just blindly goes with him because they are "buddies" and Ken's plan is "going to work" because Ken says so to Greg and Greg beleaves anything. Ken totally miscalculated that situation. Greg actually does value friendship and that would propably been enough to stay with Ken but just the watch thing showed Greg that Ken doesn't care at all what Greg did for him. Greg sees it as I already bought myself in by doing this and that trash work, I'm not a butler anymore. Logan sees that but Ken didn't and there goes Greg.

You can see now that every character is leveraging multiple angles to best suit their immediate personal situation. Josh is seen exploiting this leverage by meeting with Stewy in the full view for Kendall and Logan to see. This episode felt a lot more choppy, and disorienting. It sort of was like a loss of control in a sense because the camera isn’t as if it’s there for them but in perspective to their position if that makes sense. Sometimes the shaky camera comes back but a lot less than usual. This episode was uncomfortable, awkward, and at times just predatory. Greg and toms banter was so much weirder, Roman and Gerri didn’t have much chemistry it was just weird, shiv playing boss was flimsy. A lot is clearly in shambles and the bravado, control and power of the Roy’s seems much more of an idea in this episode as things are falling out of their hands. Edit: Greg seeming so knowledgeable about the company and company terms was as suprising to me as it was seemingly to Tom. And it also seems that Ken winning doesn’t feel the way that he thinks it will, because technically Kendall is winning right now. To me he enjoys it at the highs, like drugs.

@@paisan8766 Why shouldn’t it be possible to like any of the characters or to empathize with them in some capacity? It’s fine if YOU don’t like any of them but why should it be impossible. It must be nice to just judge people from your high perch. Your life isn’t put under a microscope for everyone to see. No one’s perfect and granted the characters in Succession are much farther away from that than a lot of people, but still they are still human beings with good and bad qualities to them.

Little confused on why Greg matters all that much now. Love him but Kendall has already taken copies of all the papers hasn't he?? Maybe Greg can try to get the papers doubted but other than that, if I was Cousin Greg I would be dipping out far away from these psychos haha. Shiv was fascinating this episode. Idk if this was on purpose but she just came off so annoying/different to me. Most of it was the inflection from Sarah Snook.

I share your confusion about the documents. For starters, Greg didn’t smell something fishy the moment that he had to sign out the boxes of documents? Why did he tell Tom that he had put aside a few documents? Was he so clueless that he didn’t suspect he was being set up? And of the documents he saved, why didn’t he make copies?

Plot twist: Logan doesn’t die but is incapacitated and Marcia finds a way to takeover. She’s not merely a doting doormat. Why did Logan marry her in the first place? Clearly, she’s no former beauty queen who can hook him with a baby, she doesn’t spend all day at the gym (wait! I’m not calling her fat. She does have a respectable mature figure but she lacks a trophy wife shape), and she hasn’t had Botox or a facelift. Keep your eye on her.

i think what convinced josh to back sandy and Stewie wasn't the fact that Logan seemed weak it was the fact that while he's father was in physical pain Kendall tried to keep talking business with josh and leverage his position it proved to josh that the Roy family are to divide and cannot be dependent on

Question. They keep calling the President "The Raisin". Are they talking about Obama? But it is also in this episode that Logan was said to be a racist.
@hollymc333 жыл бұрын
certainly not, this is clearly a republican pres, no? and raisin likely refers to his old age
@Miskatonic19273 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure it is a fictional president. The way they have described him, he sounds like a Republican (ally of the Roy's FOXian news channel) and there are some Trumpy elements to him such as getting the DOJ to due his bidding and the fact that his nickname is a food just like Trump's many food related nicknames like Orange, Pumpkin, and Cheeto. This was also written and filming started while Trump was still president.
@bernadettedevereaux86943 жыл бұрын
Best I can figure, The Raisin is a Ronald Reagan Republican clone from California or Arizona.

@callmecatalyst I agree with you. What qualities does Obama have that he would be referred to as The Raisin? Is he withered and wrinkly?

I predict that Logan wins in the end, and Ken kills himself in the end. Tom who sided with Ken goes to prison and Shiv divorces him once in prison. One of the “kids” turns into the new Ken after seeing how Logan drove him to suicide. Let’s face it, if Logan wins again they can’t keep Ken on the show anymore…there no place for his character to go. He’s already tried to take Logan down three times already. It wouldn’t be interesting to see it again for a fourth time.

A rather racist rant by the Logan character to Kendall on the walk back from the beach. Way over the top and not necessary. Will not be watching anymore, thumbs down review from me.
